Covid & the 2021 & 2022 Season

Recommended Posts

I know I can't be the only one who has thought this, but is anyone else as excited as I am for the 2021 & 2022 season? IMO Covid and the way the NCAA has handled the 2020 season has given college football a chance to reset itself and offer an even more level field of parity.

The way I see it, our young guys are getting a whole extra season of practice and experience. We don't have the same problem some of the current powers do, in that we will not see half our team go to the draft like Ohio State, Penn St, Alabama, Clemson, and others. So while they will likely continue with business as usual, we will be able to help compensate for our (shrinking) talent discrepancy with extra years in the weight room and player development. Perhaps, for the Huskers at least, Covid will be a blessing in disguise that will allow us to return to our traditional level of play with an upper class that has had an incredible amount of time in the system and weight room. Frost's decision to go all in on redshirts will look even better in light of this development.

My hopes anyway...
