BIGREDIOWAN
It's a little off topic, but did you guys see Fabian Washington intercept the ball in the hall of fame game??? Quote Link to comment
motorboatjonesNU
Ross takes on Ray Lewis... From the Baltimore Sun: BIGGEST HIT • It's debatable whether linebacker Ray Lewis has lost a step, but he can still tackle. Lewis hit rookie running back Cory Ross so hard during an 11-on-11 exercise that Ross' helmet popped off. Afterward, Lewis and Ross engaged in a little good-natured talking. Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
Ouch. Hopefully he held onto the ball, and showed the toughness he has. Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
Good to see he survived a hit from a guy like Lewis. Also good to know he is friendly with him on the team. I know I wouldn't be one to not take sides with Lewis... Quote Link to comment
kc_husker
Thank god Lewis didnt pull a knife on him. Should be behind bars next to OJ Quote Link to comment
husker rob
If players were graded by heart alone, Cory would be at the top of the list Quote Link to comment
sewardite4NU
I saw a couple plays of the Ravens scrimmage against the Redskins on the NFL network...saw Ross make a couple catches. I didn't watch much of it...preseason football bores me...not to mention it was a scrimmage and they didn't have a score. But hey nothing better than two of our best players from a year ago making it at the next level. (Especially one from my town...) Quote Link to comment
zoogs
If players were graded by heart alone, Cory would be at the top of the list Very true. I was kinda hoping he would get taken by the Pats and be our next franchise RB...from my possibly biased point-of-view, he SHOULD be a Pat. He's like Corey Dillon reincarnated. It's a little off topic, but did you guys see Fabian Washington intercept the ball in the hall of fame game??? thumbsup.gif No, but I remember Fabian Washington Which team was he on? Fabian was drafted in the first round 2 drafts ago by Oakland...took over the starting job as a rookie in week 5 last season. Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
Amazing that he didn't even have that huge of a career at Nebraska. It really shows how much the scouts base everything on those combines. He showed there he had a lot of speed. Quote Link to comment
motorboatjonesNU
Ross as punching bag- from BaltimoreRavens.com "All Wrapped Up The Ravens were burned by Giants wideout Michael Jennings' 57-yard punt return for a touchdown last Friday, and special teams coordinator Frank Gansz, Jr. wants to make sure that doesn't happen again. A former special teams coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, the vocal coach is known for regimented and focused sessions. "He brings the tempo, the pace and the basic focus on the fundamentals," said Billick of Gansz, Jr. "Frank is very demanding and they are responding to it well." Unfortunately for Cory Ross and Tres Moses - backups to return specialist B.J. Sams - Gansz, Jr. addressed the situation by having the coverage teams play a game of catch the "rabbit," or returner. After receiving a punt, Ross or Moses would have to jog from sideline to sideline while all 10 players on the coverage squad took turns hitting them, wrapping up, and then dropping them after two driving steps. Each returner had to endure the brunt of the pursuit twice." If he can take that, he's got what it takes to earn a spot. Quote Link to comment

motorboatjonesNU
Seeng some action: 17 yd. kick return (From Pikeville, KY News) http://www.news-expressky.com/articles/200...rts/02marsh.txt Underwood didn't play in the first half of the Giants' preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, but started the second half and got into the action immediately. Underwood stopped Baltimore kickoff returner Cory Ross after a 17-yard return on the opening kickoff of the second half. Going against the top unit: Linebacker Tim Johnson, a special teams standout, burst through the line in a goal-line drill to drop Cory Ross for a three-yard loss. . . Quote Link to comment
motorboatjonesNU
Cory Ross impressed Billick: From the Frederick, MD news post http://www.fredericknewspost.com/sections/...m?storyid=51510 BILLICK SAID THAT the starters will play about a half tonight against the Eagles, who lost to Oakland 10-6 and beat Cleveland, 20-6, in their two preseason games. Last week the starting offense played just one series and the defense two. "In the second half we will just be looking to find someone that can make this team," he said. He said two of his biggest surprises have been free agent running back Cory Ross and free agent cornerback Ronnie Prude. Caught a TD pass in practice: http://www.noticias.info/asp/aspComunicado...id=210735&src=0 Notable Quarterback Steve McNair finished the day strong, working from the 25-yard line to fire a touchdown to receiver Mark Clayton. The ball was spotted a few yards forward, and McNair hit Devard Darling for another score, then yet another to Cory Ross from inside the 10-yard line. . Baltimore Sun "Things to Watch" http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...sports-football On the bubble: Running back Cory Ross. The shortest Raven (5 feet 6) has to make an impact as a returner to stick. The former University of Nebraska back returned a punt 17 yards in the preseason opener. Quote Link to comment
