  1. Congrats to Minny, Purdue, OSU and Indiana

Minnesota looks good, advances to the Super Regional where they face Oregon State. Purdue, Ohio State, Indiana eliminated. Indy went down fighting.
  2. Minnesota's new "Athletes' Village" unveiled

The University of Minnesota’s Athletes Village is up and running, all 338,000 square feet now full of players, coaches, tutors, chefs and administrators dedicated to making school easier, and more fruitful, for the university’s approximately 750 student-athletes. The $166 million project includes three new buildings: a football center including a locker room, weight room and staff offices; an indoor football practice facility; and the “Center for Excellence” that includes academic, nutrition and training centers as well as practice facilities for men’s and women’s basketball. The university opened the new construction for a media tour on Saturday. https://www.twincities.com/2018/02/10/gophers-new-athletes-village-is-officially-operational/
  3. Craig Bohl

A few thoughts from an outsider... The sellout streak doesn't make your program great. Having a great program is what gave you a sellout streak. You no longer have a great program. You would be lucky to have Craig Bohl for a variety of reasons. He's a great (not good) coach. What he did at NDSU isn't just impressive, it's amazing. His last three seasons there he went 43-2 with three I-AA national championships. He knows the culture and the geography of the Midwest and the Plains, and he has tons of connections in NE, IA, MN WI, the Dakotas, etc. I laughed out loud when I read, "Take away those turnovers, flop the offense and defense around, and this is last year's 8-6 team." I guess if you take away the things that make any team a winner, they'd be a loser. Take away all the losses and Mike Riley would be undefeated. So what? Take away 100 extra pounds and I'd be slim. Nebraska fans think there's something special about Nebraska and its program. I know it hurts to admit it, but you are what you are. At this point in history you're another Minnesota - a program with a storied history and a crummy present. There's nothing special about the Nebraska job. You need a coach who will rebuild it.
  4. Minnesota fans

As a Gophers fan I had really looked forward to some good natured trash talking. But the way both teams' season have gone, I think the only trash this week will be on the field.
  5. 8 games left....How many of them do we win?

There's talent on your roster. You go 7-1 the rest of the way.
  6. Riley is still our coach

You are very perceptive to recognize that Riley only won all those games at Oregon State because that powerhouse of a program was carrying him. Clearly he had no part in that team's success.
  7. 4-8 (or 3-9) Is Now Exceedingly Likely

Oh you Huskers fans, put down the knife and the gun, and come in off the ledge. You'll beat Rutgers without breaking a sweat, and Illinois with a little more effort. Things will look a lot brighter a lot less dark in a few weeks.
  8. Minnesota replacing Iowa as Nebraska's Thanksgiving Game

I hate it when you Nebbies pine for the B12. You weren't appreciated there, but you are here. Sorry the weather isn't warmer, here, but our hearts are. Now spill some blood on the field. It'll make you feel better.

Not that you can learn an awful lot from highlight films, but... Oregon State highlights
  10. Minnesota replacing Iowa as Nebraska's Thanksgiving Game

You're kind of a d--k. (dork) As a Gopher fan, I'm glad to be playing Nebraska last game of the year. Unlike Hawkeye fans they can read and write, and unlike Badger fans they don't copulate with roadkill. As far as I know. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/crime/judge-rules-dead-deer-sex
  11. Broken Chair Remade

I don't think this trophy has anything to do with coach Pelini's emotions. It has everything to do with a nascent rivalry between two great schools.

  13. Riley is a decent guy and a fine X/O coach, but he runs the totally wrong offense for Nebraska and the B1G. He strikes me as a proponent of finesse football. How do you guys stomach it?
  14. ** 2017 Opponent Previews: Minnesota (Game 10) **

Returning starters doesn't mean that much this year, because the previous regime was substitution-happy. For instance, Blake Cashman was a human highlight film and led the team in sacks, but wasn't a starter. The skinny on the D is that the LBs are the strength, the secondary looks like a weakness, and the D line is kind of a mystery - could be great or could be mediocre, depending on how the youths come along.
  15. Northwestern Breaking Ground on Huge Facility Addition

Maybe a really opulent 25,000 seat stadium.
