  1. I think the roster is working itself out pretty nicely - injuries aside. The players that have been leaving are allowing the coaches to take a bigger recruiting class than they would have otherwise. With only 9 senior scholarship players this class would have been much smaller if not for all of the movement.
  2. I'm not doing the Ice Bucket Challenge, but I am running the Chicago Marathon for a cause, want to donate to me?

  3. Let's hope the organization uses the money in a good way because the 'hi-jacking' of ice bucket challenge could really hurt some other great causes. The incidence of ALS is two per 100,000 people or .002%.
  4. Soon it will be 13 years since I played high school football.

I bet you could throw the ball over them mountains.

  5. If you are, I'd be really concerned that a 4 * QB from California couldn't beat out an animated corpse. I thought we were building some depth at QB but now I'm worried.
  6. Serious question: How does the football coach get to dictate the kid's decision regarding recruiting? Is this a private school thing?
  7. How about his numbers against UCF, which both obscure quarterbacks you listed also played against Hackenberg - 21/28 (75%) for 262 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT O'Korn - 24/46 (52%) for 231 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT Walker - 26/44 (59%) for 382 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT Another true freshman QB also played against UCF. Burcham - 24/34 (70.6%) for 222 yards 1, TD, 0 INT.
  8. And they even say in the article that the list, "is based on college production, not NFL potential". Including Hackenburg makes even less sense!
  9. Before you go too far into that strength of schedule argument, look at Hackenburg's numbers against Kent State. 13/35 (37.1%) for 176 yards I understand he could be a great talent and have a ton of potential, I think he's a little overrated at this point in his career based on what he's done on the field.
  10. I agree with this, especially with his QB guru coach gone. Looking at his numbers he looks like a pretty average Big 10 QB - Connor Cook and Jake Rudock put up similar numbers as less heralded players. Devin Gardner even put up better numbers in an offense where he was totally mismanaged and forced to be a drop back passer. As an eighteen year old true freshman. Then I would make the case that P.J. Walker and John O'Korn should also be in the top 25.
  11. That hurts a little ... Hackenburg ahead of Ameer?!? Yea that does sting a bit. Also, what the hell is with the love affair over Hackenburg? I'm hearing his name everywhere, I was not impressed with him. I agree with this, especially with his QB guru coach gone. Looking at his numbers he looks like a pretty average Big 10 QB - Connor Cook and Jake Rudock put up similar numbers as less heralded players. 12. Eligibility starts from the beginning of the semester in which the student-athlete first registered for a minimum full-time program of studies. From the way I read things, if a high school student has final transcripts and is accepted for enrollment as a regular full-time student for the next term they can practice during the summer. But the NCAA is insane and it wouldn't surprise me if he is out of eligibility also.
  13. He claims the class will be up to 20 recruits - with only 10 scholarship seniors on the roster any ideas where the space might come from?
  14. Didn't get to watch the game but the box is crazy! Austin for Baylor was 2/3 on field goals and 8/10 from the line! Heslip was 1/7 from the field and 10/10 from the line!

  16. If Aaron Craft was on our team we'd have won by 50!

Or he would have fouled out.

  17. I think it was a pretty even mix of Nebraska crapping it away and the officials putting Ohio State on the line. There was a 15-7 foul difference in the final 13 minutes of the game while Ohio State had turned up the pressure and was going full court., seems squirrelly. But you have to be able to inbound the ball and they should have been attacking the rim when they got in the bonus early.
  18. I'm sure our running backs will be grateful of him rag dolling d-linemen.
  19. Nearly killed myself falling down 3 stairs to get another beer from the garage - it's a little early but a good sign it's time to save the rest to wAtch Rousey snatch an Olympic wrestler's arm tomorrow.
