  1. Read here: http://espn.go.com/c...ecruiting-class USC coach Lane Kiffin announced the signing of 12 players during his national signing day press conference Wednesday evening. The haul includes 11 high school players and one junior college transfer, which allows three available scholarships to be used for early enrollees from the class of 2013. So....USC can bring in 18 recruits this class - 3 would have to be early enrollees that will count towards 2012. They currently have 18 verbals so they are full at this point.
  2. Seems like this is geared towards new rules in the SEC, does each conference treat early enrollees differently? Edit: Aside from getting players ready to play sooner, early enrollment also provides another benefit for college football programs. If a recruit enrolls in January and attends class, he can be counted toward the previous year's recruiting class. Programs can hand out no more than 25 scholarships per year and have a total of 85 scholarship players on the roster. A program that is well below 85 scholarship players on the roster can rebuild with the help of early enrollees. Lane Kiffin used this approach to restock USC's depleted roster during his first two seasons with the Trojans. http://www.govolsxtra.com/news/2012/feb/01/early-enrollment-cuts-down-on-signing-day-drama/
  3. Which player listed above is playing tight end?
  4. Maybe not when Michigan is visiting, but its already sold out on the Northwestern website and tickets on stubhub are going for $100+.
  5. Everybody on the postseason list above Rex is gone, except for Ball. Could make a good case for him at #2, although that would really surprise me.

  7. I can't say he didn't consistently catch balls that were thrown his way (do they even track drops? I can't seem to find any websites tracking this). I was referring more to providing consistent production from the position. You win.
  8. I think the times listed are Central, Northwestern is up right now.
  9. It's not necessarily how many catches Marlowe had, but the situations surrounding those catches. I broke this down a while ago and I don't have the spreadsheet in front of me right now, but something like half of those catches were for first downs, most of those half were on third-and-long, and I think 25% of them were on go-ahead scoring drives. Marlowe hasn't always been flashy, but he's clutch, and he's one of the fastest guys on the team if (and this is a refrain we hear all over the team) IF we can get him into space. That's a scheme problem, not a Marlowe problem. Clutch does not equal consistent...Enunwa and Bell both had more first down catches than Marlowe had total catches. I'm not saying Marlowe isn't a quality player, but there is better talented receivers on our team. I think sometimes we over-hype the undersized, speedy white guy. UNDERSIZED SPEEDY WHITE GUY! Wait is that racist??? Only when white people officially become the minority.
  10. You do realize Westerkamp is 6'2 - 195? I have heard from a couple different people that Westerkamp is much closer to the 6'0" than 6'2" So depending on the source he is between 6'0 and 6'2...I just don't see him as a speedy slant guy, he's a pretty thick bodied, physical receiver.

  12. Marlowe was the most consistent at what? He had 12 catches all year, 6 games with no catches at all. Bell and Enunwa were much better than Marlowe last year.
  13. You do realize Westerkamp is 6'2 - 195?
  14. Maybe a 'not injured' tag would be appropriate?
  15. 9 pocket passers are ranked before even 1 dual threat shows up on the list. The #1 dual threat is only ranked slightly better than the #11 pocket passer.
  16. Makes sense, I lost out last year when my wife made me stay home with the newborn because Nebraska didn't make it. I couldn't even give the tickets away.
  17. Clear bias towards pocket passing QBs, which makes no sense considering there were so many dual threats that ranked high at Elite 11.
  18. Does this look abnormal to anyone else? Definitely holding on Mr. Clabo.
  19. Seems like everybody is agreeing with everything, this is certainly no fun...
  20. I think I'm the only one who mentioned Qvale, and that was in a "whatever happened to..." way. Nothing about "my liking," just that I hadn't heard much about him, and he's not appearing on anyone's two-deep. Don't read too much into it. I wasn't trying to single you out, a quite a few people mentioned Qvale, both in a positive and negative way.
  21. I agree we have next to nothing as a senior class on the line, which should be a positive thing moving forward. I was a little unclear in my post, I don't mind having Soph's on the two deep, a lot of the discussion seemed to be around players not developing fast enough for the liking of posters - Qvale and Moudy in particular. I think it is a good thing that these guys don't have to step in right away and can develop more. We certainly didn't need them last year.
  22. I am glad I didn't attend the same high schools/colleges as you guys. Sophomores hardly ever got any playing time. Qvale will be a junior next year, Moudy a Sophomore, still plenty of time for these guys to contribute. It seems like a lot of people are calling to re-develop 'the pipeline' but then are asking why Reeves, Klatcho, Sterup, Price, etc aren't in the 2 deep, you can't have it both ways.
  23. Take all of the logo offs and you have just a plain red shirt and white pants or vice versa. Not much to it...shouldn't the Runza logo be located on the backside of the pants?
