  1. We just need to get it on the general ballot for a vote and it will pass with flying colors like it did in South Dakota.
  2. I was trying to think of a way to not sound terribly over dramatic b/c its not like I am furiously storming away from being a fan, but this is kinda the case for myself. Plenty of other things add to the falling interest for me personally beyond them stinking on the field, but things like big non conference games still get me juiced up for a Saturday built around the Huskers. Backing out of a game that the fanbase has been looking forward to for a decade would be a huge bummer.
  3. Just ignoring this second half play. I am a fan of the quarter zip that the coaches are wearing.
  4. Yes if this passed tomorrow we would jump forward in a couple weeks and be done with it. Personally I 100% support that, I would actually rather keep the two time system than stay in standard time all year. I want my daylight in the afternoon/evening. I don't care about it in the morning.
  5. This is entirely where I am at. I know someone who has been fully vaccinated and has been trying to go see her mother in a nursing home for the first time in a year, the facility is also fully vaccinated workers included. They finally are letting them visit outside for an hour and they are limited to 1 hug during the hour. Idk what scientific study said that is the limit, but whatever. I get that there still need to be some organization while opening back up and it shouldn't be a flip of the switch, but if the vaccine actually works we need to act like it does at some point and start moving past this. As more people get the shot the willingness to participate with the lockdown will decrease and I worry it may deter people from getting it if their lives won't change with or without it.
  6. Today I learned about the 1854 election where the entire state of Ohio left their existing party and rallied behind a new political party and all of their congressmen were elected under this new platform. The Anti-Nebraska Party. Those damn Buckeyes have had it in for us from the beginning. 7. I know everyone is dunking on TX online, but Nebraska has been essentially 100% open for about month now. Local municipalities have kept mask ordinances, but indoor activities are allowed to be at 100% capacity since the beginning of February. We haven't seen a spike yet which could mean a number of things, probably need another week or two to see if things trend back up.
  8. 100% did this on Texas Independence Day on purpose.
  9. I was never a regular smoker, but I did bum a cig or two after a long night in my college years. Don't think I would qualify though.
  10. Oral Roberts has owned that league forever. I think it was like 19 or 20 consecutive league titles until UNO won in 2019. The previous season's champ gets to host the tourney the next season so UNO is hosting in 2021 one nice thing about the missed season is they get to use the new park. The conference has struggled to keep enough members to keep the sport qualified by the NCAA. This year only 5 members have a team, they are adding Northern Colorado next year to get back up to 6. Reality is they are among the weakest leagues, take all the challenges northern teams have then add in being a low major conference they are going to be a 1 bid league with their winner getting a 4 seed. I still like to see the ole alma mater beat P5 squads in anything and it is so great to see a local school with a roster loaded with guys from Nebraska compete and beat much bigger programs in the region. UNO provides a bunch of kids the chance to play D1 ball locally that aren't recruited by Nebraska or Creighton. Anyways back to the Skers.
  11. UNO had a 4 game series at Oregon get canceled for Covid pretty last min and they were able to schedule a quick 2 game series with the #22 Sooners and went 1-1 against them last weekend. The Mavs are currently up 7-5 against our old Missouri friends right now in game 2 of a 4 game series. They have Creighton next weekend and Kansas the weekend after that. Sounds fun! If there was any sport that lends itself to social distancing it is baseball/softball. It really is too bad the B1G hasn't adjusted even a little bit to make things more flexible and easier to do.
  12. Minnesota is on a 4 game losing streak and is also 0-8 in road games this season. They might have to win out in the regular season to have a shot at a bid at this point.
  13. I love following these twitter accounts that tweet google streetviews of different cities. This one has incredible dudes rock energy. Just some guys chilling in the alley with a hot rod in the garage.
  14. Deleted. Decided probably not the best reference to make considering the end of the scene.
  15. Chicago has apparently brought their most famous poison to the state.
  16. The giant guy on Purdue reminded me they played UMBC maybe opening day and his was on the court the same time as a guy that was like 5'2"
  17. As we get closer to getting our vaccines rolled though this summer I hope we commit even more help worldwide. Our role as global leader is generally good and should make Americans proud.
  18. While we are talking about schools and Covid I found this to be fascinating. Naperville a suburb of Chicago is actually giving back $10 million to taxpayers due to savings from the past year. To be fair Naperville is a rather wealthy community that likely had less hurdles than other lower income districts. https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/naperville-sun/ct-nvs-naperville-203-tax-reimbursement-st-0122-20210121-gm2kpwam4jepbpzxksitwp5ugm-story.html
