  1. We played bombardment in elementary school as well, except we used bowling pins instead. It was a ton of fun. That strobe light dodgeball sounds intense and loads of fun, minus the impending seizures.
  2. This was the craziest sports event I have ever witnessed in person. http://deadspin.com/bring-it-on-comes-to-life-in-minnesota-high-school-danc-1685940900

Key words are "in person". I have seen some crazy stuff while on tv but most of the in person stuff has been pretty tame...until this. It got really ugly in the stands. Dance moms you know.

  3. its all fun and games until someone else wants that spotlight too: http://www.funnyordie.com/articles/d13e80c156/tori-from-saved-by-the-bell-wants-to-know-why-she-wasn-t-invited-to-the-reunion
  4. Craziest in my short professional career: watching...well, i guess more like hearing...one of my co-workers storm into our bosses office and trying to chew some ass because she wasn't getting her way. She surprisingly made it out of there with her job but she didn't last much longer before she was let go. Unfortunately that is all i can remember. It was a very interesting day though, i remember that.
  5. I don't drink but accompanied some friends to some house parties one night. The first house, affectionately called the "Dirty Banana" (just around the corner from another party house called the "Pink Taco"), was a dilapidated house that apparently students rented out during the year. Had a steeeeeep $5 cover. It was empty like no one had even moved in, people standing around drinking (naturally) and the kitchen looked like someone had stepped a hole through the floor which then proceeded to grow as people tripped on it for weeks. It was one of the few places i had been that i felt like i needed to go get re-immunized after leaving. Apparently it was condemned a few years later and torn down. The place was a hotbed for all things "stereotypcal college booze party". Depending on the season, you would get to party with the local celebrities (hockey players) after they whoop on the Gophers. The parties were always skeezy and low brow, this one was no different. We left after about 45 minutes due to the paranoid drunks and a cop scare. We "escaped" down the alley behind the house, ya know, cuz thats how you get away from the cops.
  6. I have it as background noise on days that i turn it on while working and at nights I haven't been able to get my wife to drop cable. Work in progress... And are you talking about the Sonic commercials?
  7. Wow. Just wow. I was watching the story about it on NBC and they interviewed a guy that had lost both parents in 2 separate plane crashes and he was in both and walked away. I would never fly again. If this is the same kid I am thinking of, he just played in his first (if i recall correctly) collegiate basketball game for Michigan this season.
  8. What Mav said...and as a work from home employee, all catheter commercials. Period.
  9. INTJ here. I hear ya on all of the above and share many similar sentiments. As much as we wish a 15-0 season will help, I think you and I both know that might help but only a bit. The nature of forums, I feel, breeds that kind of mentality and it festers unless the users recognize it, own it and make a concerted effort to change it. I love the Huskers and I have been around forums for 15-ish years and around here long enough that I feel like the people on this forum are good people (and I can tell when most are being serious versus sarcastic or joking) but anymore I visit far less frequently and don't read anything outside the funny images/BS type threads. Everything else seems to me to be a bunch of know-it-alls projecting things they think they know and others spewing venom. I genuinely enjoy threads where I feel like the posts are informative and insightful (which most seem to start that way), as well as contributing to them, but then it just goes down a nasty rabbit hole. I choose to be very selective with when and what I post (which is reflective in my post count) and I dont get around to the forums generally quick enough to contribute something useful before they get nasty so I typically just read a page or two and then jump out when it starts going downhill. Like I said, I think the people around here are good people and I think they are above the nastiness but we all can let life affect other things and we need to be reminded now and then that we can only be responsible for ourselves/how we act and that putting our best foot forward is the most productive. Again, if we all recognize it, own it and do our best to change it, this place will definitely turn for the better. I learned a valuable lesson once: It's very easy to be selfish. Every argument I ever had was due to both parties being too selfish even in the smallest statement, it was about how I could serve myself rather than others. Then I was tasked to think back to all the great memories in my life and how they generally all came about from being truly unselfish and giving of myself to others, serving them. It's a noble thing that people take note of but it leaves you in a vulnerable position that other people can and do try to take advantage of. It's not right that they do but I emplore you and everyone here continue to do these unselfish things unapologetically. I enjoy your videos and hope you continue to make them and grow in your craft and when I post feedback on them I hope you read that they are only meant to be constructive in nature. It's been fun seeing your progression thus far. I can tell when you are really in a good space because your posts are on point, often with one short simple statement. You got some good kinda good in you, so keep on.
  10. My Grandma passed away a few weeks ago and during my free time at home I was just messing around with some simple designs (two color max) for stickers for my new MacBook based on some old designs I had done. Came out with this...
  11. You think Riley can swing the brass and get the school to switch to Nike so we can get some BETTER ALTERNATE UNIFORMS!?!?! kidding.kidding. that was my "bit of crazy" for the day.
  12. I got to this thread way late but just wanted a quick comment on this part. For those of you who enjoyed TWOS, if he keeps it up for just one more post after pelini gets hired at the next school, he could have some hilariously fun story/plotlines to play off of and end on that note like some of the great (depending on your opinion) Hollywood TV/movie endings . I.E. Pelini waking up and the whole Nebraska time was a dream sequence, or a who shot J.R.? kinda plot, Wayne's Worlds multiple endings, Breakfast club type plotlines etc, etc...
  13. I like it. It has a different feel to it than the usual team logos. I wanna say i think that because it feels like it has a little more texture than the ones we usually see but i am not quite sure if that is it...but I dig it.
  14. That alone, IMO shows how far we have fallen.... Or, you know, it could entirely show how far the Gophers have risen. Considering the consistent Husker W-L over the past 5 seasons and the steady increase in Gopher Ws, I am putting money on my suggestion.
  15. Oh shoot. Sorry guys, with all the posts on HB about Bo, I came in here thinking this was another one that I needed to catch up on. Turns out you are talking about The Walking Dead TV show. Silly me. Proceed with your TV talk. ...he said, tongue planted firmly in cheek.
  16. I have a college friend who is a huge fanatic of the Edmund Fitzgerald. He's been working on a model for a couple years and goes up to Duluth on the anniversary of the sinking. I never asked where the obsession came from.
  17. I kinda like it. Don't know where the gold/yellow comes from, but I am okay with it. Same color as scrambled eggs? Those are some high falutin scrangled eggs.
  18. Wayne Brady discusses his battle with Depression. http://www.etonline.com/news/153335_wayne_brady_opens_up_about_his_depression/index.html
  19. You cry too eh? Of course, I do because I am so darn happy...naturally.
  20. I kinda like it. Don't know where the gold/yellow comes from, but I am okay with it.
  21. That is fantastic. Does it work entirely, not exactly especially with that modern jersey but man that is fantastic.
