  1. What are Robert's strengths that make you like him so much?
  2. Does anyone else think it looks like they mixed NCAA football with an actual image? Either way, I'm sure recruits enjoy seeing and receiving these types of edits. I'm cool with whatever it takes to get recruits interests.
  3. It's definitely creepy. It's ok to be optimistic, and leave it at "I hope we get this prospect," but I feel weird about myself when I read 84husker's posts.
  4. I would make him do community service/speaking with schools and children about the repercussions of alcohol and especially drinking and driving. We all make mistakes. Let's hope he can learn from this and move forward with his academic and athletic careers.
  5. Not sure I would have the safety position at an A-. A lot of unknown there. Receiver grade may be a little optimistic as well, but overall you seem spot on. Should be higher than a B- with all the As you dished out.
  6. I would agree. I suppose you want the coaches firedNot at all. I'm a reasonable guy. But I'm a realistic guy, like how it's looking like we'll end the cycle is disappointing. But when I said that two weeks ago I was told to wait till signing day. So I'll continue to wait and hope for the best. I am little frustrated by Dez, but figured we were 50/50 on Simmons. This is there first full year and believe this is a much better class then in the past. Too many think its the end of the world.I guess I'd disagree with it being better than in the past, it's pretty right on par. It's not the end of the world at all, but it's not necessarily what we needed. I'm pretty optimistic for next year's class and do really like some of the pieces we grabbed this year. I am looking at average player rating, not class rating as 30+ of Bo's classes never made it past a year. There are 19 commits, so naturally, the average player rating will be higher. Don't kid yourself, this staff gets very similar results on the recruiting trail as the last.
  7. Do you not read any part of threads before typing? He sits out this year due to NCAA transfers rules.
  8. Might be a culture shock for you, but that doesn't mean Isaiah will feel that way.
  9. Did a bit of homework? If putting your name on your homework constitutes doing "a bit" then I'll agree with you. Sounds bitter. Only evidence was tackles. A junior high student could pull that off. Better luck next time Brandon.
  10. Definitely. The selfish side of me says stay, but if he is honestly got a fourth round grade, it's time to jump. He has all but started 3 years now, another year will make little difference. Accomplish a dream and get paid doing what you are good at and maybe what you love. Best of luck Vincent.
  11. Yes, but only if you went all one letter.. ABBA CADABA wouldn't work so well.
  12. Can't watch CF if that's targeting

  13. Farniok or bust. Jackson is the highest priority after Farniok.
  14. FITZPATRICK IS A COMMIT WHO'S ALREADY DOING SOME PEER RECRUITING. Totally serious, was Fitzpatrick the silent? He said 'were.' They are just messing with huskerboard members heads. Florida does sound like a nice place though. Add an apostrophe. I was joking. Would be great if it ended up being true, though.

  16. And one of the guys responsible for those recruits is no longer coaching because of scandals with an agent. He was also being investigated for possible recruiting violations at 2 different schools. I do agree that we can get top talent to commit but it wont be at the rate of other schools that are in the middle of recruiting hotbeds. I think the 2017 class has the potential to be a once in a decade type of class for us. Lots and lots of potential. I've always said that one of the greatest threats or maybe the greatest threat to our program is the mindset... that starts at the very top and has filtered down to some fans... is the mindset that ASSUMES FAILURE. It's not a mindset about what I stated, it's just pure fact. Teams that are in the middle of or in close proximity to recruiting hotbeds will almost always have better recruiting classes year in and year out over a team that is distant from one. No it's not a fact... it's an excuse. You honestly don't pay attention to recruiting. The top states for recruiting are California, Florida, Texas, Ohio, and Georgia. The Northeast and East Coast produce lots of talents also. Take a look at these classes and tell me that proximity doesn't play a roll. https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2010/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2011/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2012/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2013/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2014/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2015/all/all Alabama's current recruiting class highest rated recruits 4**** and 5***** players: 1-NY... 1-MISS... 1-MD... 1-NC... 2-TX... 1-CA... 1-VA... 2-AL That means that 80% of Alabama's top recruits are from somewhere other than Alabama and in fact they are from all over the country. Their top recruit is from California. Great coaching and great recruiting is the key... not where the team is located. If you have great coaches the players will come... from all over the country. No more excuses. They have been the best team and recruiting power for the last 5-8 years. Not a good comparison at all. It's much easier to recruit to nice weather and with higher population densities nearby. We have Kansas City and that's about it, maybe Denver.
  17. What level do you coach at.... Probably the same as you. Seeing as this is a message board, 95 percent of the posters are not involved in coaching and are just fans who want to see this team do well. If I was bashing a coach who had success this year or in general, I could see your comment having some merit. But since you are probably some division one coach, lets hear your actual insight. And next time use a question mark, those periods make you look like a junior high girl texting her bff.Nope just a fan. You are bashing a coach that had success. Typically when you see a good run defense you think line and when you see a good pass defense you think DB's - now we know it takes both, however I would say that our run defense was pretty good this year compared to the guy that new how to defend against the run last year. It's not perfect however headed in the correct direction.Headed in the right direction? After one year which had its ups and downs, it is tough to determine the direction of the defense and the d-line. How many sacks did the defensive line have? How much pressure did they get on the QB? Did defenses pass more than they ran against us due to our deficiencies in that area? It is too early to know, and people can easily use the "these are pelini's recruits" argument, but I am more concerned with recruiting, not on-field production. It's tough to stop the run when you don't have any big bodies. It's about the Jimmies and the Joes. You can have the best system in place but if you don't have the players what are you supposed to do? The DE and OT position groups are laughable how is that Rileys fault? It's all about how you look at things. Pelini's pass defense was much better with similar players. It comes down to perspective and we all have our opinions to go either way with it.

  19. http://247sports.com/Coach/Greg-Mattison-1354 Arguably the best d-line coach in the country. One example, Good for you.
  20. Damn Milt Tenopir and George Darlington for not having ambition to be a coordinator and content at being a position coach for 30 years. The thing is, Tenopir had consistent success. If you want to compare Hughes to him, go for it. I shouldn't have said something so irrational, my apologies. If you think the recruiting and on the field success is sufficient, then good for you. Hughes is on par with milt Tenopir
