  1. Like someone said in another thread, people said the same things about last year's class, and we ended up with a pretty solid one once February came around. It's only November, so there is still lots of time to reel in some big fish that we are chasing. Also, our class probably won't receive a high ranking from Rivals, Scout, or ESPN if we are only going to sign 16-18 recruits...
  2. I've never been to an away game, but I don't really understand why a fan base would want to say rude things to opposing fans who are visiting your stadium. It is something that you do when you're 16-20 MAYBE, but then you hopefully mature and understand that it is more rewarding to be courteous and hospitable to the other team's fans. I heard the reviews from the Wisconsin game, and it sounds like an unnecessarily hostile atmosphere. Buuuuuuut, I still plan on making it there someday, along with the rest of the B1G monster stadiums.
  3. HAHAHAHA. That's a great line. But Eric should really shut his mouth and not threaten people over social media. I'm pretty sure that's a crime. I have absolutely ZERO problem with it. I may only be 21, but I'm pretty old-fashioned. If somebody spouts off about my teammates or family, they better hope I don't see them on the street anywhere...
  4. Yeah, that was necessary wasn't it? If you don't like the thread don't post in it pal. Yeah, especially since that is the guy that Eric Martin wants to kill because he spouted off to him, Kenny Bell, and BK on Twitter haha
  5. Because from what I saw, he didn't even get touched. It was pure BS, and so were the rest of the calls that everybody has mentioned above^. I still think that we get beat with a good reffing crew, but you never know... You call PI on that first pushoff on Michigan's long pass play, and it is a whole different football game.
  6. That's just it. Those guys were/are juniors and seniors. Underclassmen don't seem to do well/play in it. As Husker Richard said above, you have Cassidy and Thorell starting over possibly more athletic guys because they know the system. This is not getting your "best" players on the field. It is getting your most knowledgeable and that doesn't always translate to wins. We need a system to get the best playmakers on the field. If it means implementing the system little by little to get 1-2 more wins per year then do it. I think that you forget the fact that very few young players are physically mature enough to take on the challenge of playing as a freshman or redshirt freshman. They need that extra time to absorb the scheme and build their bodies so they can endure a full season
  7. You can go to Google and search "Eric Martin Twitter" and his twitter profile is EMar46 or somethin like that. I'm young and a tech person and Twitter still baffles me. It's gibberish, but you can find it on there.
  8. I did not know this was going on, so I looked it up. This snell dude needs his ass beat. IDC if he has 2 purple hearts, there's no reason to talk to anybody like that...
  9. I haven't had a problem with the officiating until today. This was pretty pathetic how bad the officiating was today, and I seriously just about had my head pop off.
  10. true fan right here ^ I'd like to consider myself one too. Love the Huskers!! Keep your heads up boys!
  11. Why don't you ask this question to Dejon Gomes, Prince Amukamara, Eric Hagg, Larry Asante, Matt O'Hanlon, Ndamukong Suh, Barry Turner, Lavonte David, Alfonzo Dennard, Daimion Stafford? When the defense as a unit gets it and are athletic enough to make plays, it is the best defensive scheme in the country. This year, we don't have the depth in the secondary or the athleticism to make the plays. We also have no depth behind David and Compton at LB. Combine this with not having big bodies at DL to clog up holes and stand their ground, and that is why the D is struggling so much this year. I know I don't know all the answers, but this is my diagnosis. Once we get better athletes here, we start dominating again.
  12. No way in hell would I be happy if they fired Bo or if Bo left to take another job, but the name that flashes through my mind to replace him if the situation were to come up is: Gus Malzahn OC Auburn University The guy is an offensive mastermind. Admittedly, Cam Newton made him look REALLY good last year, but I believe he would be a solid hire, especially if he hired a solid DC.
  13. Teams go through this same thing each and every year. Last year we lost Prince, Gomes, and Hagg and it is taking us a while to get back. Yes, we will lose the 2 best players on our D, but we also keep Compton who has come up big in recent weeks. And who knows if Santos comes in next year and is dynamite at LB, or if Zaire Anderson is the next Lavonte, or if that Siesay kid comes here and becomes an instant impact player at CB. Even if he doesn't, I feel pretty good about the CB position with Andrew Green coming on late, SJB showing a flash or two of being really good, and Ciante playing pretty well the last couple weeks. On top of it, the D-Line will have a lot of guys such as Chase Rome, Baker Steinkuhler, Thad Randle, Jay Guy, Todd Peat, Cam Meredith, Eric Martin, Joe Carter, Jason Ankrah, and any other guys that might step up next year. Unlike most, I see a lot of good things coming out of next year. Lots more experience and depth than we have this year. My only question mark would be at O-Line, but we will see what happens there...
  14. I definitely wouldn't put that on the coaches. I would put that on the university. I love the Huskers as much as anybody else, but what a lot of people don't realize is that to recruits around America, Nebraska is not a premier college football destination. It is going to take a BCS bowl win, possibly a national championship win with the caliber of players that we have right now, in order for recruits to see Nebraska as an elite program.
  15. I dunno you guys, I for one blame the loss today 100% on Kenny's blue shirt
  16. I learned that I should probably not be on this site when we are losing
  17. I like these, except for #3. I get as upset as anybody when we lose, especially like this, but the problem most people have is that they direct their anger in the wrong direction. Nonetheless, things I learned in addition to these: -Kenny Bell is really not that good. Hasn't been able to catch the last couple weeks, and that funble on the kick return was HUGE and sent us on a downward spiral... -Bo has learned 2 things: how to maintain composure on the sideline, and how to not blow up at the press after a bad game -Martinez can only do so much, though he contributed to the crappiness in the end -Lavonte David CAN be everywhere -Beck panics with his playcalling at times
  18. This. I would guess anywhere from 20-24.
  19. Hindsight is always 20/20. The punter didn't even get touched so the guy sent in to block it did what he was supposed to do. I couldn't even begin to tell you what is wrong with this team, but I'm hoping that it is simply lack of talent and lack of maturity.
  20. so much for this game being well-reffed...
  21. How bout this: You're a f****t!! If all you're gonna do is stir sh#t up on this board than go jump on another team's bandwagon because you're not needed!
  22. It was a great game between two amazing football teams and right now they're both still the best in the country in my mind. People can complain that it was boring or a turd of a game but that's good defense for you and watching both Bama and LSU play the crappy teams its clear that they have the offense to turn it on when they need to which just makes that game even more impressive. I agree with you that they are probably the 2 best teams in the nation because of their juggernaut defenses, but I have 2 things I'd like to throw out, the 2nd being more relevant and important to this discussion: 1) Both teams have patchwork offenses that are not good. Especially LSU - Lee is twice the QB Jefferson is, and they still threw him back in there after his suspension. STUPID! As far as Bama is concerned, Richardson is good, but nowhere close to what Mark Ingram was. And their QB is not good; just asked to hand the ball off and toss it 5-10 yards every once in a while. 2) Bama and LSU played LATE in the year. You saw the outcome when they were at their best, so leave it at that. A rematch is completely unfair to LSU. I'm also not in favor of a LSU-Oregon rematch, but it would be much better than LSU-Bama... My hope now is for LSU to play Oklahoma.... Even though I don't think OU is that good either... Oh well, all my hopes vanished tonight...
  23. Holy crap, I freakin love Jon Reep, and that is all I see when I see Weeden on TV. You read my mind sir!
  24. NEBRASKA HAD A CHANCE...we're 8-2. Well if Bama loses to the high school team they play tomorrow, Arkansas loses to whoever they play, MSU loses to Indiana, Clemson loses, VaTech loses next week, Oklahoma loses then beats OSU, we beat Iowa (obviously) and then Wisconsin in the CCG, as well as a couple other losses by these teams if possible, as well as losses by other teams I may have missed...................................... And we still don't make it to the NC game. And I'm okay with that. I don't feel like being embarrassed in primetime.
