  1. I hope you're being sarcastic....
  2. I think that Bo's teams struggle the most against multi-dimensional offenses with mobile QBs. Michigan's offense is very one-dimensional, and from what I've seen of Denard Robinson, he is possibly the worst passer I have ever seen, and a good friend of mine who is a Michigan fan agrees with me.
  3. To me, this is the greatest benefit of having Beck as our OC - The creativity! And like you said, the creative plays aren't just silly foofoo weak gadget plays. Beck still manages to keep the physical aspect of these plays, which I (as well as pretty much all Husker fans) absolutely love. I'm not the oldest Husker fan but I still appreciate a physical throwback style of offense that would love nothing more than to run the ball on you when your defense has geared up to stop the run and only the run. It's how we won games in the Osborne era, and I love that we are back at it now. GBR!!!
  4. I think if we show up healthy and play 100%, the only teams that win a best-of-7 series against us are LSU, Bama, maybe Wisconsin, Oregon, maybe Stanford, maybe Okie State... That's it. With the exception of LSU and Bama, I think we still have a good chance of winning that best-of-7 series against any of these teams, though they would be tough. Clemson,..... is just not that good, and neither is any of the teams in the SEC other than LSU and Bama.
  5. And all this because: - We decided to blow off NW - We decided to not watch game film (I didn't say it, Yoshi did) - The team decided to live up to the Pelini mantra: "Every year you have to lose to an unranked team (preferably at home)" Yup, a heavy price to pay. Makes you wonder that with only 12 reg. season games how on earth a team like NU that's trying to get back to relevance takes a game off. Falls totally on the staff. So what do you suggest we do? Fire our coach who is on the right path to get us back to the NC game? Everything you say is so pessimistic and dumb... go away And everything you say is stupid childish gibberish that brings absolutely nothing to this board. At least I say it like it is while you like to suck on lollipops. Go away! I'm just saying, man... I really believe that Bo is taking this program in the right direction for the first time since TO retired. Not to mention, the only thing that will get us to the top is to keep our coaching staff intact (possibly without Cotton) so that we don't suffer a bad recruiting class and having all of our players relearn a new system. A coaching change is a 4-5 year transition at the least, and I find it absurd that people have wanted Bo's head since the NW game. Now I'm not saying that he is a coach of the year candidate or anything. He's still green as a head coach, and I think that we have seen him learn from every mistake that he's made. Should he have made those mistakes? no, I won't give him a total pass on overlooking NW or blowing up against Tex A&M last year. BUT it is irrationally pessimistic to want to fire the head coach that has brought us so much success and growth as a program over the course of the past 4 years.
  6. OP, I think that hindsight is always 20/20. If Long or Caputo or whoever it was doesn't get beat by #71, Rex most likely gets a clean handoff, and Legate picks up the first down. That formation worked several times, and I loved how Beck mixed up our looks to make us more effective running the ball.

  8. ok so I have been busy lately.... when did this happen? http://huskerextra.c...9dc35b4897.html Also... Not liking hearing this...definitely don't need argument between the qb and receivers I actually have no problem with it. You're reading a little too much into it I think. Taylor is just stating it matter-of-factly, and hopefully the WRs take it as a challenge to do their job better because that was the biggest thing that bugged me during the game. Kenny Bell the last 2 weeks has dropped a lot of balls.
  9. You should probably stop posting considering nobody wants to hear what you have to say... In other news... What I learned is that Beck or whoever is responsible for designing our plays is really freakin good! We couldn't run it straight downhill out of the I Formation early in the game, so we mixed it up and gave PSU a few looks that they couldn't handle. My favorite was the zone read that turned into an option play. So many things that the D has to cover, and T-Mart ran it to perfection many times today!
  10. Offense: Martinez Defense: Caveman!! Martinez looked pretty masterful today running the offense. He has truly grown into a complete QB I believe.
  11. ummm.... You realize that PSU still has to play OSU and Wisky right?.... And PSU will get through this just fine. Give it 5-10 years and most people will forget this ever happened
  12. Def agree with that now. I wanna know!
  13. Absolutely. I think it's pretty well understood that the VAST majority of fans of all teams are polite, fun and decent people. The whole of Penn State Fans are not being held accountable for the actions of a few, just like we'd hope you don't hold all Nebraska fans accountable for the actions of the inevitable asshat you'll come across. But those few who do crappy things are pretty hard to ignore. Maybe with the exception of Colorado fans. Missouri fans aren't real easy to deal with either.
  14. I don't understand why you would petition this. Paterno is the winningest coach in NCAA football history, and he deserves to have his name on that thing. It's not like he was the one who was barebackin' those little boys in the locker room...
  15. I'd rather we keep Martinez healthy, given that the coaches have shown little confidence in Carnes this season.
  16. Yep, and hindsight is 20/20. He's an impressive athlete, but our defense made him look better than he really is.
  17. The only thing that will fix a program struggling to get back to prominence like ours is keeping the head coach. You want results after 4 years? Even TO couldn't win championships that fast. It took him decades to build the program to what it was in the mid-90s, and with how college football has changed today, there will probably never be another run like that ever again. If you want permanent instability, keep firing the head coach every 4 years. WE HAVE A GREAT COACH!! IDC what anyone else thinks, Bo is the man, he puts people in positions to succeed, and we WILL win championships with him as our coach.
  18. As much as I don't want it to happen, I think that it will be Ohio State in the CCG, not Wisky.
  19. under Northwestern O/U 13 completions
  20. I wish I could be there but I will be at home celebrating every great play our guys make.
  21. Not gonna lie, for the first half of the season last year, we had a pretty legit highlight reel!
  22. I would say when we win a conference championship for at least 2 consecutive years. Could be tough because it looks like OSU is hitting its stride with Braxton Miller. Looks like a challenge that I would like to see. Hopefully our players are up to the challenge.
