It's good to hear some good news come out of the game yesterday. Losing sucks, but I'd be much more disappointed if I heard that Nebraska fans were anything but great. Thanks for offering a silver lining to a crappy game (for us anyway)

I'm just praying that this is the one bad loss that we suffer annually, and it came without our best player to a team that was much better then any of us realized. If so, at least it came out of conference play this year and not to the likes of Northwestern or (God help us) Minnesotta. If so, we're still alright. It's only a non-con game and let's be honest; we weren't going to the NC anyway. I'm disappointed, for sure, but I'm saving my judgement on this team until the Wisconsin game, when we have Burkhead back and the games really start to matter.

Numbers can always be spun into a good or a bad direction. That doesn't mean I'm saying you're wrong to look at it this way. I'm just reserving my judgement on the defense until I've seen some more of them. This week should be similar, with only one game of tape to go off of, so I'll probably just hold out until the Wisconsin game to decide how good this D is. On the other hand, I'm drunk on kool-aid with the offense!

Though USC is an overall better team, I think we'd play them better then Oregon. Our defense just plays so much better against pro style offenses. Bring on the Trojans!

Well my soon-to-be fiance, who comes from the heart of Hawkeye country, has been converted into a die-hard Husker fan. She drove from Moline, IL to Lincoln for fan day just to get Burkhead's autograph, has spent hundreds of dollars (and we're both poor college kids, so thats saying something) on 'skers gear, and is making an annual tradition out of getting us tickets to the Heroes Game for my birthday just so that we can rub it in their faces that she is now one of us! Hallelujah! God is good!
