  1. How could you not like this? Puns about offenses being put on lockdown and jailbreak screens. If FAU was any good this would be a writer's wet dream!
  2. be a little anorexic at 25 lbs. But a 13.6% increase from the Hacker's stated weight for TA in his post.... significant increase You guys do realize that he said Stanton, not TA, was 22lbs, right?
  3. He probably did not have much direction until now besides "I want to play football". I would guess that he knows where he wants to go now. Until he figured that out he had no idea what it would take to get there. You would like those conversations to happen earlier but sometimes they don't. Hope it all works out for him.
  4. Caveman is probably right. But any time they take more than one the second seems to be more of the ATH role.
  5. Read more:Q&A: "Quality control" coach is entry-level position in NFL - The Denver Post anything that can help the coaches come into the game better prepared will help out tremendously. I am a big supporter of Bo and his staff, but I do believe that he does need to work on preparing a better game plan week in and week out, then maybe we wont have to come from behind all the time You're right. No one likes playing from behind and it needs to stop! How many years/GA's will it take for Bo to finally figure out that "fumble punt" and "turnover on our side of the field" are just not effective game plans early on?
  6. They did for a long time. You may want to check their fight song...
  7. air jordans with adidas socks that might be some sort of violation Only good taste...
  8. Not assuming anything. And bribery/ improper benefits was not the point. I don't care why the kid wants to play anywhere. I care why the family wants him to play somewhere. Especially when there are no ties to the school. If the kid is going to make a decision on his own, fine. If a kid is involving family the entire time, great. Either way the process is established early on. When someone becomes highly influential late in the process they "change the process" for lack of a better term by injecting their own biases that may not be able to be overcome. It just seems that if they cared that much about where the kid was going to school they would have big a larger influence early on. That's all.
  9. I don't think the disappointment is because family is involved. I think it is because the kid is going on visits and enjoying the process without much if any pressure from the family. Once he is ready to make a decision the family blows up the kid's final three out of nowhere and adds teams that had not even been in consideration. There have just been too many cases of "uncles" being bought for it not to feel a little dirty.
  10. I am not a Barney fan but I don't think this points to him at all. The coaches have a plan for personnel as to who fits where but they also have a plan for scholarships in general. By picking up a couple of 3-3 guys (or at least one) then they plug into the spots opened by Moore and Klatchko and keep things closer to the plan. Bo does have a "process" and this is just another part of it.
  11. It was mutual. Not a big deal. University said it didn't look good. He agreed and stopped selling Husker stuff. The end.
  12. That is a sweet name. http://rivals.yahoo....o-Cotton-140928 ANOTHER one?
  13. Westwood is a beautiful campus. Or it could be his first trip to In-N-Out burger. In hindsight, this was definitely about In-N-Out Burger.
  14. A lot of the elite 11 dealt with classroom sessions, that weird physical fitness stuff the first day, and on field practices. The scouting services did not get to see any of the classroom work and only as much of the practice as they bother to show up for. Most of the rave reviews came from the camp staff after the classroom sessions. He just didn't as much to separate himself from the pack in the practices. Admittedly tougher to do when you miss the final day and a half, and are built like a fullback doing nothing but 7 on 7 drills. Heaven forbid he have a chance to truck a linebacker and show more of his ability...
  15. Or assuming that freshman play on the defensive scout team which the offense will practice against.
  16. Either way at least we won't have to worry about holding a spot until signing day.
  17. Darn. I was hoping for a "Well Timmy, when a quarterback and a cheerleader really love each other..." joke somewhere in here. Where is Irie in all of this?!?
  18. Probably and then some. In my head it looks like this... Since he won't qualify and no one will use a scholarship on someone that is ineligible he has to figure out what school he wants to go to. Then he can work out a plan with some JUCO that deals with that school. Go to that JUCO on his own dime while using his redshirt year and get/keep his head on straight. It is certainly possible to make up that many credits in a year with Spring, Summer, Fall, and possibly a winter session along with distance courses. Unfortunately not all schools accept distance courses AND it requires a lot of work in a major he may not like. I believe Sociology was the most "flexible" last time I looked. Does he care about his major, who knows? Regardless, he is going to feel like he is ice skating up hill for quite a while. I hope he can accomplish getting into a D1 program. Football may be a very large part of this young man's life but I guarantee he would look back on overcoming this with much more pride than anything he will ever do on a football field. Overcoming challenges like these define the man you will be for the rest of your life.
  19. Not sayin you are wrong about him qualifiying. How does a guy fo JUCO for 2 years and not be able to qualify? Just how sloppy does he have to be with his school work? Is there no tutors available at his JUCO? I took a few courses at Iowa Western over a summer, it was so easy. I don't see how anyone putting in the effort couldn't do well. I think I found your problem right there. Very well could be. The 40/60/80 rule has caught quite a few people as well, myself included. Between possibly changing majors, no idea where he would transfer to(so no way to take classes you know would fit), and UNL being a bit stingy with accepting transfer credits there may be a little more to it than "he was lazy".
  20. A-Rod plays pretty well when he can rotate with other bodies. When Sirles got dinged up in the bowl game the subbing became less frequent. They showed a close-up of A-Rod and you could see he was gassed. The next play, false start. Then getting beat around the edge and holding to try and save Martinez from going home in an ambulance. He just doesn't seem conditioned to be able to go 8-10 plays in a drive and remain effective. A little training table adjustment and he becomes much more consistent IMHO.
  21. Peter Konz and Barret Jones are both listed at 6'5" so it isn't much of a stretch.
  22. Unfortunately its not a favorable exchange rate, after conversion he has a rank of 93.93 Well that's just loonie...
  23. Possibly, but some of these kids are very methodical and process driven. Cancelling a few days before a trip means having to vet someone else in a limited time frame to maximize your options. With only so many weekends left for scheduling trips and other classes filling up it can be very stressful to complicate the process like that. Without any insider knowledge it seems like no one is really wrong here. Just a personality difference in how they like to handle things. If I had to guess.
  24. Our numbers are so low because Pelini basically redshirted an entire class when he got here 5 years ago. If he doesn't do that we are probably in the low 80s. The SEC is ridiculous. But, until the NCAA makes schools honor 4 year scholarships it will not change. Too much money at stake for them to volunteer for the high road.
