  1. Sorry. I looked all through the 2013 kids and didn't see him. Figured he committed to Whisky a long time ago and there was never a thread on him.
  2. Here is the link: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=193&f=2561&t=11105005
  3. According to Scout he decommitted from Whisky this morning. He at one time had a Nebraska offer. It's possible we jump back in the hunt now. Info says he is 6'3" and either 305 or 350 depending on who you read. A 4* recruit.
  4. There is a lot to like in this young man. Speedy, elusive, and good hands. I loved the play where he got downfield about 10 yards then changed directions and ran to the other side of the field, directed his blockers and turned it into a big gain. It sounds like he wants a good education as well. Pick Nebraska and be an All American twice in the same year. As a player and an academic!
  5. Very good question! I'm not saying they aren't effective or making the wrong calls. We just lack effective personnel at key positions. Thats not saying the players aren't trying either. They are giving all they have.
  6. Offensive linemen should be waiting in line to get a call from Husker coaches. I would think they would want to play in this offense with all the weapons available. Braden Smith and D J Foster I hope will see the advantage of playing close to home. The snowball is starting to pick up momentum. Lots of positives if we don't get caught up in the few negatives.
  7. Weather here is much too unpredictable to sponsor an outdoor bowl game. About two years in a row of games like the Big 12 CG in KC a few years ago would scare most fans away. Until (and not likely) we get a dome for Memorial Field I don't think it would be a player in the bowl picture. I get to work outside a lot in the winter. Not sure I'd want to go watch two teams play live in the cold that I wouldn't watch on tv in my easy chair.
  8. For many of the walkons, the spring game is the only time in their careers they will be on the field in front of a large crowd. The chance to play nearly everyone on the roster would be a big loss in my opinion. I'm guessing a part of the crowd at spring games are small town people coming to see the local sports hero get his shot. At some point in the future I'm sure teams will think they need even more money for the coffers and this idea will fly.
  9. And god knows we aren't. Are we in on any Juco OTs? We could use some help right away over next 1-2 years too. I think juco Matt Finnin from Illinois is leaning towards us. He held off on a decision after getting an offer from our coaches and will visit before long. He was honorable mention Juco All American this year. About 6'7" 320 lbs. Oklahoma also offered and is our rival for this kid.
  10. It appears Toby Johnson and team mate Ben Bradley are considering the Huskers once again. OT Matt Finnin looks to be a better than possible prospect too.
  11. I'm sure the coaches have a rating system for all the kids on their board. They start at the top and work down. If the CCG and losing a coach hurt our chances of a top recruiting class it becomes like a fumble during the game. You hate to see it happen but it's part of the game.I do hope we don't throw schollies at a few borderline kids just to fill out the roster. Save 5 or 6 for next year and we may have a better record and will have generated a bit more excitement by the end of the year.
  12. I think this thread has run it's course. We can let it die a quiet death. Thanks to all who kept it alive for a few weeks.
  13. I'm starting to feel like the wallflower at the Homecoming Dance. Eager to dance but never chosen. Do we need to buy these coaches some breath mints or what?
  14. It probably had little to do with the average man on the street. When the cigars decide they want a coach to hit the road it usually happens unless there is a strong AD.
  15. Your sis is a gorgeous girl! Too young for me however. May I meet your mother?
  16. Brandon...you'd look great in scarlett and cream with a red "N" on your helmet.
  17. I seem to remember Nebr playing Navy once in the early 80's or late 70's but I could be wrong. Maybe it was a freshman game. It would be a nice gesture if we could honor Frank S during a game. Not sure playing them would be a good idea anytime soon. Hopefully after Frank retires and before Tom O passes. Even if some didn't care for his coaching, he was before that a good player on the early Devaney teams. This is an interesting thread. Lets schedule Louisville before Watson leaves?
  18. I was thinking Hannon and Samuelson were both guards. With Kneval the only tackle so far I was hoping for a Juco tackle to help with depth the next couple of years. Sterup may be ready by next fall but he may be the only tackle we have recruited in the last 3 years that didn't leave the program or get injured. It takes most kids at least 2 years in the system before they are strong enough and mentally ready to play interior line in the Big 10.
  19. It's like trying to keep your finger in a dike. Wait what?
  20. Player: Jeff Badet Hometown: Orlando FL School: Freedom Position: WR (slot) Height: 5' 11" Weight: 160 40 time: 4.5 Offers: South Fla (decommitted recently), Boston College, Bowling Green, Illinois, Iowa St, Louisville, Fla International Considered a 3 star by most services. Coach Fisher visited him this weekend. No offer as of yet.
  21. A new commit this weekend and reassessment of a couple players makes this update necessary. 1. Randy Gregory DE Juco. Rated as one of the top juco De's in the country. If his broken leg heals he could be a force on next years defense. 2. Gabe Miller - Should be the starting long snapper next year. 3. Adam Taylor RB. If injuries occur at this position he could be on the 3 deep next year. 4. DJ Singleton - New commit this weekend. Will be here in the spring. Depending how fast he acquires the system, could be a nickel back very soon. Has size and speed. 5. Josh Banderas, Marcus Newby, Courtney Love LB. Love will be here in the spring (unless he decommits) and will have a jump on the other two. The next group will in all probability redshirt. Unlikely to see the field for a few years. 6. Johnny Stanton QB. 7. Marcus McWilson S 8. AJ Natter DE 9. David Kneval, Zach Hannon and Dan Samuelson OL 10. Nathan Gerry S 11. Kevin Gladney WR 12. Greg Hart TE 13. Antoine Miles DL or DE
  22. After 48 hours I still can't begin to process this horrible act. I hurt deeply for the community, siblings and especially the parents who lost their sweet children. My prayers are with them all. My grandaughter is this age and I can't wait to hug her next time I see her.
  23. Of the offers I see in the list only Texas A&M would be comparable to Nebr. I'm not 100% certain but I think they already have about 34 verbals which means they'd have to boot someone. Of that number I think 8 or 9 will enroll in Jan. to count against this years numbers. Imagine having Beau and Brandon on the field at the same time in Husker red!
