      So dependent isnt addiction? Thank god. And here i thought i was addicted to alcohol, but im only depending on it to stop my shakes.

      Withdrawal is symptomatic of dependency, not addiction. Again, these two terms are often confused. Your "shakes" would imply an alcohol dependency. Your compulsion to drink would indicate an addiction.
