  1. That kinda falls on the upper administration though, right?
  2. Mickey saying there’s a percentage of guys on the team that like him lead me to wonder what players move on too.
  3. I think Mickey has like 4-6 games to prove himself. Trev said he wants someone in play before the signing date and to give a coach the proper amount of time to recruit for a class, you’d want that decision to be made before thanksgiving so they have a jump to recruit. Mickey could have been top choice to replace Frost as far back as when he was initially hired as AC, so he may prepped himself prior the firing.
  4. This tradition has also died as the meaning has evolved. Hand out the Blackshirts to distinguish starter vs backups. Have some nuts to define the starter and then force competition in practice and see results in the game to steal it from the “starter.” This is just something extra the team overthinks.
  5. Can one be sure Chinander wants to claim he has been the DC this season?
  6. 100% At the time I called it a selfish move, it was at the least a foolish decision. And yes, the details and little things don’t appear to be important enough to this program. Not for years.
  7. We would have had an extra snap or two if the clock operator had stopped the clock when GSU ran out of bounds.
  8. Lol funny you mention clock management. On GSUs final drive with an eternity left in the game yet, the first play where the kid caught the ball and ran OB, the clock continued to run for 20 seconds. I knew it was going to come back to bite us haha. Not like it matters, I’m pretty certain the loss and the firing has been a better result than what would have happened had they pulled it out.
  9. For the “don’t care about ethics group,” then bring back Bo as DC and Marvin Sanders as DB coach
  10. So that’s how the JoJo PI was against UM? That’s how the targeting was last weekend? Or against JD on PR where he got ear holed or when AM took shots to head? Or how we’ve had 1 holding call in the B1G play in 3-4 seasons? Or Castenada’s fumble…when it’s against a conference opponent? Listen man, I never said we’ve lost because of the refs or the refs dictate the game. However, for some reason, there’s a contingent of fans who can’t see how s#!tty the refs are and how those calls have affected games. It’s amazing how I can sleep with a ref who is more understanding than Husker fans rooting for their own team. And she ain’t even a fan of this s#!tty program.
  11. So your hill is when the refs get a call right? How brave of you.
  12. cool story, Hansel. So everyone knows they landed in the easy division, but you can omit how they stacked them with OSU, Wisconsin, and PSU - in addition to MSU and UM. Again, it’s not some secret that the B1G was upset over PSU running the table when they joined and made sure that the new kid had a harder time doing that again. It’s historically known and was a dialogue amongst B1G writers when they brought Nebraska in. Asking for consistency is considering whining, how big brained of you. You probably rooted for the refs during Remember the Titans.
  13. Everyone knows the conference is catered to UM and OSU and anyone else that steps out of line gets put back in their place. Frost and NU challenged the status quo and made Warren and the suits look incompetent - also challenging their political beliefs. From the beginning, they stacked the schedule so the new kid couldn’t come in and win the conference a la PSU. Is the ego of this conference not well known? It’s built on pretentiousness. Reread my post for your required summary on that one. I believe you’re misjudging whatever weight of “the conference wants us to lose” to why we actually suck. And those are your words and assumptions. These are things that can and are mutually exclusive. So, why would a conference kick a member out for playing a single football game in the fall of 2020? To add: why wouldn’t they allow them to go through with replacing wisconsin?
  14. Your guess is as good as mine. Never stated nor believe NU doesn’t control its own destiny. Why would B1G threaten to kick members (NU) out of the conference for playing football in 2020?
  15. There have been two stretches where the B1G hasn’t called a single holding against a Nebraska opponent for multiple years. “By definition” of targeting has failed to eject multiple opponents. PI against JoJo against UM. Jurgens downfield blocking against OU, same official didn’t call same effort earlier in the game against OU. The Covid schedule followed by Wisconsin backing out. Delaney saying they didn’t want to expand and took Nebraska in. Moos dissenting from required unanimous voting system, followed by the university issuing unnecessary statement declaring allegiance to B1G after conference announced any team who plays outside of B1G will be kicked out. I mean, none of these reasons are why Nebraska sucks and Frost needs to go, but turning a blind eye to these aspects and how it affects the program is flat out ignorant.
  16. I agree with that. I wouldn’t trust our line to consistently push for <3 yards when everyone knows we need just 3yards. When I read that one part of your comment, I see that as a bigger testament to Grant as opposed to a drawback of the OL. He kind of reminds me of a Leveon Bell, the way he can patiently pick a hole and go. If only he had the power to go with it.
  17. It can be perceived that it’s a sense of desperation, but whatever he did was what a coach needs to do - so I applaud him for that. That’s what a coach should do, like when Zane Zenner was gashing NU years ago…forced Pelini to spike a TO, chew some a$$, fix the D, and then SDSU’s O was shut down. An attitude and effort adjustment across the board could probably benefit this team more than Xs and Os.
  18. Not taking away from the rest of your post here, but thats what “great” backs do and will help eleviate stress on the OL from thinking they need to do more than what they can actually accomplish. Optimistically speaking, that can slow down the game for the OL and improve the team overall.
  19. The problem is that as soon as anything goes to review then the refs on the field have zero input and a man/woman behind a curtain makes a determination. It’s borderline corrupt.
  20. I mean, I like Rhamir and thought he ran hard, but hard to question what Grant has brought these last 2 weeks. He’s a less physical Leveon Bell, but shiftier IMO. I use this comparison based on how he attacks the hole, not that I believe he’s a potential nfl RB.
  21. If the metric is bowl game or bust, then I’d be disappointed in TA’s evaluation of program success and trajectory. IMO, 6 wins only cannot be a milestone metric to save one’s job. That’s shortsighting the program development for future years which potentially leads to sub .500 in 2023 before firing him. As others have stated, we wait and we’re another year behind. As much as it pains me to admit, he’s failed at creating or developing a culture of winning, and hasn’t shown any metric of deserving retention. Only way to save his job is to go 3-0 in September and knock off division foes to contend for the West. But in order for that to happen, the entire team needs a come to Jesus moment to overcome whatever mentality makes them play so tight in crunch time. I hope they can figure it out, but it’s grim hope and the way CFB has changed, TA should have feelers out this week and act early so the next staff is in place for December signing day success.
