  1. If this is true, you just made my day! I love all the Dish vs DirectTV talk. IMO they are pretty equal on programming, but Dish is quite a bit cheaper. I'm not the smartest man in the world, I am getting closer to that title every day though, but I am smart enough to pay less for something that offers basically the same thing as their competition!
  2. Except for the Big Ten Network thing, Direct TV is way more expensive for the same number of channels. I'm not cheap, but I'm also not stupid. I would much rather pay $30 or $40 less a month for the same thing.
  3. If it helps, I have the most posts on this board and agree that post count is 100% irrelevant to knowledge. Everyone starts out with 1 post at one point here. I hate that pretty much every forum provides post counts. They are absolutely worthless. This is the best comment I read on this whole discussion. I am just glad that I'm getting close to that "magic" number of 100 posts so that people can start to take my opinions to heart and see some wisdom in what I'm saying! That being said..........I do love how these discussions rarely stay on track with what the thread was actually about. The only thing I would add in my sequence would be.... 11. Post something while intoxicated only to edit, delete or thoroughly apologize for it the next day!
  4. I was thinking the same thing actually. I don't think there is anyone that is going to beat Alabama this year, but I also didn't think there was going to be anyone that was going to be USC this year either. This is shaping up to be a weird year! I would actually agree that it wouldn't be the weirdest thing in the world to see Nebraska in there. We didn't look good against UCLA, but I don't see as much competition in the B1G as I thought there was.
  5. As I see it so far, Alabama will definitely be playing in the National Championship game. Who will they be playing? Will it be another Alabama vs LSU? With USC getting beat yesterday, I feel that it is pretty wide open. I don't really see anybody that's on Alabama's level so far this year. LSU even looks like they aren't as dominate as they have been in the past few years. Even as bad as the B1G has been so far this year, is it possible that we could possibly have a team in the National Championship? Right now my guess to go against Alabama will be: Oregon(but a loss to USC will negate this) or possibly Oklahoma(which does have to get through a tough Big 12) or Florida State(still not sure how good they are) or even, I hate to say it, Notre Dame(their schedule looks ok for them to go undefeated and the nation loves them for some reason) To me, it looks pretty wide open this year with the exception of Alabama. I just think Alabama looks pretty good so far. I don't really see anyone challenging them this season, but I'm wrong a lot so we'll see.
  6. I agree with your statement wholeheartedly! I'm not saying that we need to change just to "keep up with the Jones'", but if other teams are doing this it will put us at a disadvantage. Once again, I'm not saying that we need to do it, but maybe the NCAA needs to step in on this issue and mandate that all schools abide by a certain policy in this case.
  7. He is doing good things at Ohio, I could see a BCS school knocking on his door, but it's not going to be an Alabama or USC. It will be more like an Iowa State or maybe even NC State. I could be wrong, but obviously this is just my opinion.
  8. it's not that our women are ugly, it's that they aren't in white shorts and bikini tops 11 months out of the year. even a hot chick loses some appeal bundled up in 10 degree weather walking two blocks across campus with purple lips, chattering teeth and crap running out of her nose. Didn't say there were ugly; however, I brought my wife up there for the Pitt game a few years back and the men acted like they'd never seen a woman before. I don't know bout all y'all, but perty girls is right nice to look at! I likes it when out o' towners bring in perty girls for us to gawk at!
  9. 09 defense shuts them out IMO I will agree that we would have beat that team with the 09 defense, but I'm not sure about shutting them out.
  10. Thank you for saying it. Most people were on his bandwagon after last weeks game and this week some of those same people are ready to kick him off the team! The defense needs to get a lot better and that's that.
  11. I don't think there are many people on this thread that are "sunshine pumping". I was just making a point that I'm tired of "fair-weather" fans that are only truly on board when things are going well. I'm tired of people ready to stop watching just because of a bad, and I do agree that it was a BAD, performance. Either support the Huskers in the good times and the bad, or please go jump on the Alabama, USC or LSU bandwagon for this year.
  12. Play calling. Not offense. Play calling. Zone read from the 2 yard line? WTF? Was Beck SERIOUS? That safety was all on playcalling...PERIOD. I would agree, but the offense also didn't execute. Play calling was awful, but execution was also awful.
  13. He wasn't that bad but took a few steps back. His well placed balls from last week were gone, it was far from his best game. Someone needed to pull him aside in the second half and tell him to take a breath. He clearly got a little rattled by the defense and rushed some passes. He had a couple of passes where he threw from his back foot in the second half when he should have stepped up to deliver the throw and take the blow I agree, there were two different halves and two different offenses. It seemed like they were a little shell shocked in the second half. I can't wait to see what Tommy Armstrong can do, not that I want Martinez benched. It should be a really good competition between Armstrong and Stanton in the future.
  14. You don't really think anyone is going anywhere do you? I drive 7 hours to the home games have tix for three away games and want to throw all of them in the fire pit currently....but I'm not going anywhere and neither is anyone else. Actually, that was the beginning of this thread. People talking about taking a break from the Huskers because they are tired of being "let down". I know that "true fans" won't go anywhere. But we do have fair weather fans just like every other team in the nation and they are starting to come out and say that they are ready to jump off of the bandwagon for a while. Lots of adult beverages make people say lots of stupid things. I was thinking that too, until I saw that everyone was posting this morning. I'm not saying people don't enjoy a beverage with breakfast now and then, but after last nights game, I'm thinking that most people enjoyed those beverages last night.

  16. I can honestly say that I didn't like the game last night, obviously. However, I think some people are blaming the defense and not even mentioning the offense. The offense was simply horrific in the second half. It looked like they were scared of all of the blitzing and stunts that UCLA threw there way. I can honestly say that I'm tired of people saying that they can't watch them anymore and they are tired of being "let down". I don't like to see players saying that the other team "wanted it more", but I'm also not going to turn my back on a bunch of boys, everyone needs to remember that they are still boys, playing for the best college football team in my opinion. I will continue to support them even if they would go 1-10 this year. I'm a Husker fan, it's what I do. I HATED Callahan, but I would still be supporting the Huskers to this day if he was still the coach. If you are a true fan......suck it up and watch and support the Huskers in every single game this year! If you choose to "take a break" then please don't come back when we are dominating people every single week again!
  17. I thought I heard on the radio this morning that Seisy was hurt and that should limit his playing time at least for this week. I can't remember what they said was wrong with him though. It didn't sound serious.
  18. I didn't watch much of the game last night but I did see this play. I would have to agree that it was a terrible call. If they are going to make that call in college football this year, it is going to be a bad thing. I agree that he didn't launch himself at the receiver, he was simply trying to make a tackle.
  19. The main reason that I didn't go with Direct TV is because it is a lot more expensive at every level than Dish Network is. Right now though, I'm seriously considering paying more money if Dish doesn't pull their head out and get with the program.
  20. I don't go to the games to watch or listen to the band, obviously. However, I do enjoy most of what they do. I'm guessing that the volume issue all depends on where in the stadium you are sitting. If you are right by the band, it can get annoying, I've been there. All in all, I would say that they do a great job though.
  21. I see them getting it settled, but I really don't like everything that I have seen about AMC and Dish as well. I had no idea about that channel. It's looking like I need to really consider going with DirectTV. I was hoping to avoid that, because I really don't want a higher bill!
  22. I'm obviously biased, but I think the Nebraska trucks look the best. After Nebraska though, I liked the looks of the Northwestern truck.
