  1. I thought that was a perfectly cromulent explanation.
  2. This is fun to look at. I know we have all off-season to speculate on the full depth chart, but it will be fun to add in the redshirts, recruits, etc. I just hope everyone on this list stays healthy. Edit: Buster started to fill it in already, nice.
  3. I've watched this gif about 500 times today. And I'll probably do it again tomorrow too.
  4. One of my all-time faves and VERY underrated in Husker lore. He had an excellent season. Gdowski is also Solich's QB coach at Ohio, btw.
  5. If I recall correctly from Jammal Lord's days, he threw a decent deep ball and hit some long bombs to Isaiah Fluellen and Mark LeFlore. Those were exciting to watch, but Lord's short passes were still spotty. I hope Armstrong refines his passing touch, but his build and athletism remind me a lot of Jammal Lord as well. If Lord had better talent around him, I think he would have been remembered more fondly as a QB for Nebraska and we would have won a lot more games. If Armstrong can show similar physical capabilities and continue to improve his passing skills, with the talent NU has now, it will be very exciting to see.
  6. I've read this whole thread and have my own opinions about Bo and his coaching staff, which are not very original at this point. But the part that mystifies me is someone having friends who are fans of K-State and Missouri, and caring what they think about NU...
  7. I'm very interested in the "new math" that you seem to be using in this post.
  8. Wasn't it 2008 when the defense was struggling, so Pelini and Watson changed the offensive scheme to more of a ball control/clock management style to give the D a break? IIRC, that change happened after a couple of blowouts, and we immediately became a team that took a top 5 Texas Tech squad to the brink and then finished on a great winning streak. The ball control idea then seemed to really help the defense. I now often wonder, when we do an up-tempo, hurry-up style or whatever the current offensive identity is, if we would have fewer procedure penalties and turnovers if the offense slowed it down and had a moment to focus before each play. Yeah, the quicker tempo is supposed to keep defenses from making quick adjustments, but so often when we shoot ourselves in the foot, I'd rather tone it down just to see if it would translate to better fundamental football. Might help the D get more of a break too. Then again, I know almost nothing about X's and O's. I just know I don't like sloppiness at any tempo.
  9. King Arthur: Old woman! Knapplc: Man. King Arthur: Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there? Knapplc: I'm 37. King Arthur: What? Knapplc: I'm 37. I'm not old. King Arthur: Well I can't just call you "man". Knapplc: Well you could say "Knapplc". King Arthur: I didn't know you were called Knapplc. Knapplc: Well you didn't bother to find out did you?
  10. Had a weird dream about an old drunk guy coming to my door at 3 am with two little kids, looking for their swimming goggles. He then wanted to drive away with the kids, so of course I had to call CPS. Then I woke up, and it really was 3 am. I'm also the on-call guy tonight for CPS. I think I need a vacation.
  11. Look, if you're gonna make fun of my cowboys, then at least give them the respect they deserve by using stats and records and other such pertinent factual reasons they suck! I find your lack of of smug, condescending, and arrogant taunting of how my cowboys annually sh#t the bed a little uninspiring and dickish to be honest! The next time you want to make fun of my favorite team for 30 years please use common sense and post with the realization that a cowboy fan or two may read your comments! I find your lack of creativity when poking fun of my cowboys an affront to everything the star on the helmet stands for!
  12. Harrison Beck... I am sure you are right....but refresh my memory a bit.... Did he go to NC....and was he an All-Conference selection? I just don't remember seeing his name on any highlight clips on any sports station once he left.....and if even so, he would be 1 of many that have left..... Cody Green had an ok career at Tulsa, but not sure if he even started a lot his senior season...thought he may have been beaten out ** Although my question was to name 1 or 2.......so if Beck is correct..... You win Sir ! I don't think Beck was all anything. He sat behind Russell Wilson and his stats were miserable. Beck on the left Holy crap - I suddenly don't feel so bad about NU's strength and conditioning program.
  13. Would suck if they missed out on an opportunity to play for Mack Brown!
  14. My brother loves this show, while I detest it. They are college-educated individuals playing a part and perpetuating stereotypes for monetary gain. Why is it any different than any other sit com then? I suppose because some people believe that this is real. Well, there are also active threads about Santa Claus, Ghosts, and Tim Beck getting a HC job, so this fits right in on Huskerboard.
  15. I don't know if he's going to make due or make hay as you mentioned. I just want him to make tackles (instead of running away from the play).
  16. I've never watched the show, and I agree that his comments are idiotic and ignorant, but it also seems that everyone knew what this guy was all about already. He's a redneck born-again Christian from the south past retirement age. No one should be surprised, but it sounds like those qualities are also what people like about the guy. I'm not heartbroken that he got suspended at all, but I think A&E could have simply said this guy's views don't reflect theirs and carry on. I'm happy that we live in a country that can allow a rough-around-the-edges nobody to rise up and create his own massive fortune. This dude is the American dream. I'm sad that we live in a country with so much ignorance about gay rights, civil rights, equality, etc. I'm happy that we live in a country where this guy can speak his mind but can still be made to deal with the consequences of his words and actions, and that A&E has the same rights. I'm also happy that I don't see very many people with beards like that. WTF.
  17. It's amazing that in recent years, we've had issues running our top RBs into the ground, forsaking extra carries to the backups, so they are worn down at the end of the season; and then Abdullah has the 5th best rushing season any Husker ever; yet here we are talking about him being underutilized. But it's true - we needed him just a little bit more and abandoned him in key situations. Damn it, Beck.
  18. Well, he could evolve and not have such ignorant backward views. His ignorance was exposed and put on display. Not trapped.
  19. The article in the link refers to it as a blindside hit. I agree that it was deserving of a fine due to the helmet being used, but blindside? The guy came at him directly from the front, the punter just wasn't looking. Illegal, yes. Vicious, yes. Blindside, no.
  20. Amazing that it has never happened before. Also looking at Ameer's numbers, he averaged 130 yards per game this season. If he does that in the bowl game as well, and does the same in 14 games next season, he will top Rozier for career rushing yards (I know Rozier's stats did not include bowl games, or even a freshman year for that matter, but it's still remarkable)!
