  1. I love when the announcers give our offense tips on basic peewee league fundamentals.
  2. So far I think the Iowa OC is as bad as ours. They're running at will so, hey, let's throw a bunch of passes? Huh? Are they running this from Nintendo HQ?
  3. Dave Feit has a comprehensive survey over on the Huskermax front page if you're interested. It breaks everything down pretty well instead of just asking a couple big questions....like a real survey would. Anyone is welcome to take it.
  4. I think the fullback busting open holes must have just been for Senior Day because we didn't want to keep up any of that nonsense when we could sling long passes into coverage. Someone must have scripted this game for it to be so obviously bad.........I don't think that happens by chance. A little bit of this and a little bit of that equals a lot of nothing.
  5. A local news guy did an article on the shrinking Nebraska youth population and sports participation in small towns. Some schools can hardly field a team.
  6. I don't get the question?? If Bo is fired after the season they'll hire a new coach and he'll bring in his own staff. Whether the new coach chooses to hire some current assistants is his business. I doubt anyone worth hiring would let the Admin or boosters dictate to him who his staff will be after running off a successful coach who basically let the same thing happen. In all seriousness, I hope this post helped.
  7. I cant wait for the Minnesota game. Just a few years ago their program was a complete mess and they've been able to turn it around.I think it will be a very competitive game and you can't ask for more than that as a fan. Hope we show up to play this time and win out the season.
  8. You can't have none of the blame on Armstrong either though. He has NOT shown he has the skill set needed to beat teams with a pulse. Both Purdue games we have won in spite of him. He's at about or just over a 50 percent passer. And can't make a second read to save his life so he relies on his first read being open and a "pretty" deep ball. Of course blame needs to go on beck for not playing to what he can do but when the guy can't really do much else other than run REALLY well and throw long, there's not much you can do to help him grow. If Bo wants him to start and Beck doesn't then this is all on Bo. Whatever the case, we're flawed from the top down systemically and nothing will change no matter who's at the offensive helm unless we get a philosophy change here.Agreed. Beck is doing a bunch of dumb sh#t, but he's not the one throwing 5 yard screen passes into the dirt. But he is the one with the horrific, inexplicable play calls. I swear he was calling plays to punishment Tommy yesterday. If you want to assign blame, it was all of them in this game. Didn't matter what the offense did the way the D was hemorrhaging. It all needs to be fixed though. I'm thinking you want a QB who can throw a pass and be better than 1-10.
  9. I don't think I agree with this. I think he's the defense coach and leaves the offense entirely up to the offense coaches. We don't need a figurehead, we need a coach who sees a change needs to be made and does it. Let's not talk about whether the offense or defense was worse, let's fix both...now.
  10. They say that every time, yet there they are. I bet they will. If it had been up to internet polls, TO would've been long gone and we probably never win an MNC in the 90's. You're gonna make a business decision based on a Barry Alvarez team beating Nebraska? you know, yesterday was not the first embarrassment of the pelini era. so, it would be a decision based on the aggregate. Hopefully. I know everybody is mad about whatever that was....just think the guys in charge should make a rational decision based on what's best after the season is over. We still have three games to play.

You're gonna make a business decision based on a Barry Alvarez team beating Nebraska? I don't think the internet was around when TO was on the hot seat. That was the point.
  12. Can he....absolutely. Will he....??? It'll take some Jimmy's and Joe's....maybe a star QB and a few LB's to take control of the field. Will he make obvious changes that need to be made in the lineup and on the coaching staff?? That's all the badmouthing I'm willing to do right now.....don't want to start a meltdown.
  13. I know you didn't mean for this to be a topic, but since it is........how about waiting until the season is over and letting him evaluate it before you start calling him names on public message boards?

  15. Get yourself a monthly subscription to the Rivals board, then you too can be an insider and find out important Husker news at least six hours in advance.
  16. I bet Bo will be back next year........you don't have to be sad anymore. Will there be a realignment of assistants....who knows? Not me. Hopefully the team bands together, I think that's what it takes around here.
  17. I'm sure he has Callahan ready to come back.
  18. I'm okay with Bohl, but it seems like people want to know if his huge success was due to the division level he was coaching. There hasn't been enough time to tell anything from what he's done at Wyoming either.
  19. How about Barry Alvarez? He seems to know us pretty well.
  20. LOL For me, I'm not a defensive guy. I think it's up to Pelini and Paps to explain it. All I know is that when I see B1G defenses like Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and lately Minnesota & Iowa, I see a physical and disciplined front 7. They don't look like they have more talent than us. They look like they have toughness, some quickness here and there, they're big and strong, solid tacklers and built to attack the run for four quarters every week. Sometimes it doesn't go perfectly for them but they are committed to it. They get set and ready to go every snap without the wasted pre-snap movement and alignment calls from the sideline. At times they get beat on pass plays which can happen to any team. It happens. But it's still tough to run on them up the middle or outside because they are geared up for it. It's physical Midwestern football. We don't resemble anything like that. Compared to that we look like jitterbugs and confused lightweights. Don't know if that helps at all, but I don't see why we can't have that same philosophy and approach as those other styles. But isn't that why Big teams rarely win championships? They beat the hell out of each other but usually are not the most talented. The old 70's style doesn't seem to be what the top teams are doing these days. I think it's more likely that the Wisconsin beatdowns have more to do with familiarity.....like playing Creighton in basketball.
