  1. I think nobody really knows how fractured the program was when Bo took over. He walked in with someone elses recruits that only won 5 games the year prior (and got blown out of the stadium on top of that) and won 9 games. And he has done so every year. I think 9-10 wins is a good measuring stick to show a program of consistency, that with the addition of elite players over time, could amount to championship caliber teams. I know that now with playing 12 games in the regular season and up to 2 games in the post season and now possibly more with the playoff looming, the number is not as great from a percentage standpoint but I think consistency is the keyespecially after what transpired before Bo arrived. I believe if you ask any head coach or AD they will take this record every year inorder to build toward something better. Time will tell if Bo can get there but I think 5 years is not enough time still.
  2. If he is making contact for himself, this would be so disingenuous since he is making in home visits this week. I believe he has more integrity than to do something like this. If he was doing something on his own behalf, he would just send his assistants for in home visits. Just my opinion.
  3. Or get one. Or maybe recruit a transfer or two. Doesnt he have to get permission to speak with anyone associated with the program, regardless of reason? There could be something to the "trying to get an assistant" part of this because if I remember correctly the DC for Tennessee was just hired away from Alabama. Last time I checked, Bama was okay on D. Sunseri is his name I think.
  4. After what I saw last Saturday I would say you take as many run-stuffing DT's as we can fit in the locker room.
  5. You take him anywhere he wants for now. Things change. Amukamara was recruited as a RB. Jamal Turner was recruited as a QB. Get him N and let things play out.
  6. I believe there are some that are listening elsewhere and maybe taking visits. But my point was that it's not because they got handled against Oregon and Arizona.
  7. You can thank 70 pts from Wisky for this. This will have ramifications on recruiting. We are the laughing stock now and all recruiting momentum vanished thanks to that game. Easy for you to say that now since your prediction never came through before the game. There are other teams that are worse than us that are having no problems with recruiting. If one game made the difference, he was not that high on us to begin with. What teams got completely embarrassed on national television last weekend? You don't think this sticks in kids heads? Urban and Saban will love nothing more than to make sure any guys we share on the recruiting front hear about it over and over again. He was a very heavy NU lean and was told several times it would be coming very soon on regards to him pulling the trigger. Then we get abused on television and he wants to visit Bama again aka who nebraska used to be. Don't compare our 90s program to Bama's now. Never would Osborne resort to the things Saban does on a regular bases. U$C got embarrased plenty of times this year and they still have a top 5 class. And don't forget that they started the season #1
  8. I was never good at story problems. If a train leaves Albuquerque at 12:30pm MST and averages 102 Kmh and is pulling 53 tons. Heading towards this train on the same track is one from Venice, Italy leaving at 6pm Rome standard time the same day averaging 95 Kmh and pulling 32 tons. What time moscow standard time will they collide? As per My Cousin Vinny, it is a trick question unless these are scuba trains. Please back to topic. This has taken a life of it's own.

  10. I might want to make a small argument about point #1. Sipple wrote today that Nebraska is only 1 of 4 teams to win at least 9 games each of the last 5 years. NU, Alabama, Oregon, and Boise St. Only one of those teams have won a NC and one played in one. So we could be closer than anyone thinks. And before anyone jumps on this, I do understand that these teams are not getting 50, 60, 70 points dropped on them at least 1 game every year. I guess my point is that there is NO TEAM in football that is dominant for long streaks like Nebraska was in the 90's except for Alabama now. Most teams catch a break some year (Texas, Auburn, OU, Ohio St) and win 1 NC and possibly compete for an additional. Having said that, HC's of these teams also take long looks in the mirror after a season of not winning and make necessary adjustments. This is where Bo has to look real hard at what he is going to have on the sideline for coaches next year. He has done a good job and deserves to make changes to benefit the team. If he comes out next year with the same staff and doesn't recognize the need to go a different direction, then it shows that he is too stubborn to win big games. Devany recognized the need for a differnet offense in his time as coach. So he gave the reigns to TO. Even TO recognized the need to change after losing to Miami and Florida St. I remember reading something about him going to see Bobby Bowden to find out how to get faster and more physical on D. Solich fired and forced retirement on close colleagues because he saw the need for a fresh approach. Callahan hired freinds despite their lack of ability. Wisconsin sure benefited from us taking Cosgrove off of their hands. Bielema turned out okay after that. ANd dont even get me started on Elmasion. Now its Bo's turn. Let's see what he does to improve for next year.
  11. Yeah let's just hang out in the mediocrity pool....we can't do better. Defeatism at its finest. We are Nebraska and we deserve better. Our defensive guru couldn't figure out how to stop a crappy offense last night He should be afforded the opportunity to make necessary staff changes if any. If the end result next year is at or below this year then the AD should take a long look at what to do next. And also, 9-10 wins a year is. Of mediocrity. Callahack was mediocrity or worse. Pelini is doing okay. Next season is where we see where we are headed. 34-19 against BCS teams and 8-11 vs top 25 Osborne lost 7 straight bowl games, didn't win a NC for 22 years, and lost to OU many times. And he took over a NC winning team. What did Pelini take over?

  13. I agree with the thought of making assistant changes. I think back to Solich after the 7-7 season. He made some tough decisions on some close friends but the next year, we won 10 games. I don't agree with getting rid of Bo. I shutter every time I think back to the last time the Huskers fired a coach with a .700 win percentage
  14. I like how the article said that Ferentz is a routine guy and doesn't like a shortened week to prepare. Like that helped him during all of the other losses Iowa had with a full week.
  15. And the award for understatement of the year goes to ..........
  16. sorry speed. My reply wasn't questioning fowlers insights. It was in response to Hedleys response to Fowler.I follow and take seriously anything Fowler posts in the recruiting forums. As I do with anything you post. The fact that this guys starts a thread in the recruiting forum just to dick everyone around is ridiculous. Then to butt heads with fowler about recruiting is insane! Sorry don't know of any of fowlers or EZ E sources so I take what I am told etc do my best to connect dots and see what there is. I happen to disagree with the policy of going home and thinking about it...so do successful salesmen and Nick Saban and Urban Meyer are also against it. This is like the 3rd or 4th post in the last day or 2 where you have made statements that piss everyone off and then ask them to be civil to you. This has to be a record. Why does that post upset you? Because it differs from others? I'm sorry DOesn't upset me. Just making an observation. Now, back to Sandland.
  17. That eliminates all JUCO guys. It better not be someone like Boaz Joseph. Not that I don't like him, he just wouldn't make me very happy. Very happy would be Priest, Newby, Jojo, Hunt, and maybe Knevel. Is it one of those 5? you will find out sometime after this post who it is! You will find out right after someone annonces and Hedley says that was the same info he had. This whole thread is a joke.
  18. I dont think anyone here is asking him to name his source specifically. This is the typical vauge statement we hear every single year between our last game and the bowl game. Staff changes, recruiting surprises blah blah blah. Guess what? We have 15 commits and we are going to take 23-25 ...yep looks to me like we are going to get some more recruits in the next few months. What a joke. Atleast he went out on a limb and said today or the end of the week. When it doesnt happen for a week or two, he can always say he chose to wait to make it public until after the CCG, and never be wrong. Prepare to be happy, were going to sign a whole new class come Feb. My inside sources from a premium site say we already have 15 that are waiting to sign on the dotted line. +1 to you. Anyone that wants to make vague statements just to create a bunch of comments should have their thread locked. I also like how they won't tell you who they hear is going to commit just so if something does happen they can say, "see, I told you." Not cool.

  20. Wow, hadn't seen that yet. Tedford is a good coach he'll catch on somewhere pretty quick, but I think that will definitely make kids considering Cal open things back up. Who can we steal? The only guy we offered was LB Victor Egu. They do have an OL that is a 4 Star as well. They only had 13 commits to date.
  21. So Maryland and Rutgers are on board. I don't think Delany stops at 14. Question is, who do you get? Here are a couple of scenarios that I see happening. Louisville: Big East, likely candidate because it wants out of the Big East so bad and it expands somewhat into the South. Not a home run but still viable. Borders 3 B1G states. Boston College: ACC, if Maryland can negotiate out of the $50M buyout, Delany could start looking at Boston TV's. Plus with the start of the B1G hockey conference they would be a good addition. UConn: Big East, Has something to offer for a few sports. Will be one of the few football schools left there. Could solidify the NE area of the country. Virginia: ACC, See Boston College. Also if the SEC comes after Clemson, FSU or Miami, They may want to look elswhere. Plus the state of Virginia is growing in population. Virginia Tech: ACC, Same as BC and Virginia Pittsburgh: ACC, May rethink the move to the ACC if that conference starts to get poached and it locks up Pennsylvania TV's Syracuse: ACC, Same as Pitt and could get more NY TV Cincinnatti: Big East, Same as Louisville Iowa State: Big XII, Geographically fits but does not get more TV's or traditional power in anything Kansas/K-State: Big XII, Good for basketball and somewhat football. Might get the KC and St Louis TV's Notre Dame: Could rethink ACC alliance if ACC gets poached too badly. Probably not going to happen. Anyway, just looking at possibilities. I don't really care where they expand as long as the Huskers are winning.
  22. "East" Maryland Rutgers Penn St Ohio St Indiana Purdue Michigan St "West" Northwestern Illinois Iowa Wisconsin Minnesota Michigan Nebraska Keep the protected game. Plus 2 additional non-divisional games. Go get Louisville and UConn while we are at it.
  23. I don;t think we back off any of them until the 2nd slot is filled. I know we want a big and small back but I am happy with a combination of any 2 RB's we are looking at because you just never know what they will turn into.
  24. Although I understand what he is doing, I wish he would annonce sooner. For some reason I feel that if he were to pick us it would have quite a trickle down effect for us getting a few others to make the jump too. Oh well. Good luck and please pick the Huskers
