  1. I specifically ask this question not as anything you describe in the bolded part. You seem to jump directly to this the minute anyone would even think about asking a question about any situation. This instant reaction is exactly what many are fearing in these situations. Let me point out, nothing in the tweet by the woman says the "dude" touched her. He "pretended" to grab her boobs. So.....sexual assault can happen when a guy doesn't even touch the woman? Now, asking that question, I have no problem, if I were there, pointing out to the kid to stop it, it's inappropriate and he shouldn't be doing it. But, a career could be destroyed years later now by a college kid doing something where he didn't even touch a woman....interesting.
  2. I have a wife who is in management of a decent sized company. I have two daughters who will ultimately be professionals working in the work force. I want them to be protected in the work place and feel comfortable reporting inappropriate sexual activity if it happens. I have over 100 employees where many are women that I value very much as employees/friends and their contributions to the company. I take this issue very serious. If you're distraught discussing this with me, I have specifically said that I'm not talking just about Franken. I'm fine with him resigning. I thought he was a dork anyway and think there's better to have in the Senate. If these allegations are credible (and it seems some are) then great....glad he's gone. My part of the discussion is based on the general question of, how do we move forward in a word (that I support) where women feel free and empowered to come forward, how do we classify, verify or quantify a complaint to the point where a man's career should be destroyed? That might seem like a horrible question to you, but, it's a very valid question to ask and it doesn't make me, as the person asking it, some horrible person that supports sexual harassment. Edit to add: I do respect your views on this by calling out for the resignation of a Senator from your own party. There are many people that don't do that.
  3. Question..... Should the "dude" mentioned in the hidden tween of your post be found and fired?
  4. Gosh, I thought we were having a decent and healthy conversation about this. Sorry it's so stressful for you.
  5. Crap, this was going to be my first year getting season tickets.
  6. I just hope and pray that, if we get him, he is an accurate passer that makes good decisions. He obviously has wheels. I'm a little gun shy of guys who run fast but can't complete a pass or make good decisions.
  7. I feel bad they had to have Frost for two years.
  8. The weather issue in Lincoln is over blown. Very few games are played in Lincoln in bad cold weather.
  9. One thing UCF fans and players need to keep in mind. He is the play caller on offense. It's not like a CEO type of head coach left and the coordinators are still in place. He is the brain child of the offense and they won because of that offense. Their best chance to win is to have him on the sidelines calling plays. If people think that's too weird down there, then they're not really wanting the best chance to win.
  10. Really??? Sure, he showed up out of shape and got caught doing something stupid. However, he has been one of the biggest player recruiters for Nebraska over the last 12-18 months. I don't see that as "overly focused on themselves". His Dad came out and said hew as gone after Riley was fired and he has stayed committed to Nebraska cheering on the team and players. Now, like someone else said, if he has been working hard at home, I would welcome him back in a heart beat. He has talent that we can use on this team.
  11. Or, he raises his game like he has in college to the level of the people around him. BTW...we are going to kick their asses!!!!
  12. This discussion reminds me of a guy I know that's a CSU fan/alum. He was so pissed off when Tim Miles left. He instantly started bad mouthing him. When I asked why, he said, "He didn't care, he just left for a bigger pay check". Now......what that leaves me scratching my head about is how does he feel when a coach leaves a smaller school to go to CSU? Obviously, THAT'S OK. The mentality fans have towards coaches and players many times do not have logic behind them.
  13. And....we should never forget how disgusting this man is.
  14. That is not unusual with coaching changes. They are a good program and will be fine.
  15. I just want to be the first to say.... OMG....HE HIRED ALL HIS BUDDIES!!!!!!
  16. This is huge and an area where the 10th coach should be able to help with. How in the hell do you expect any player, especially a walk-on to improve by just watching?

  18. There are lots of challenges that make having the same type of walk-on program we used to have hard in 2017. Kids can go get a scholarship at other schools, still be on TV and still be a part of an exciting program. Also, one of the biggest obstacles is the cost of education. You are basically asking a kid to give up over $20,000 per year just to walk on at Nebraska over going to another school where he has a better chance at playing time. That's a big difference from in the 80s when I was in school. Now, how is that fixed? It's not going to be fixed totally. It's not going to be like it used to be. We are still going to lose kids to other schools because they want the scholarship. However, I think this is where winning helps with in state kids. If we were a dominant program, someone like Fant would be much more interested in coming to Nebraska than Iowa. Sure, he would have received a scholarship, but there are a number of players like him who got scholarships elsewhere and took them. If we are winning championships, maybe some of the kids that go to South Dakota State walk on if their family can afford the education. Now, I am a little confused about something. We have had a number of walk-ons get playing time the last 5-10 years. Every year there's some on the field. So, I'm not sure why people think it's being under utilized or disrespected by the coaching staff.
