  1. a cruel joke would be too make that disabled seating................ No...that is where the visitor's section should be.
  2. A lot of people don't do this--venture to other services--but I think it''s a great idea. I mean, it seems like most people belong to a particular denomination because: A) their parents belonged; or B) they married into it. Instead of that, why not go to different services/different denominations until you find one that fits your philosophy? I've done a bit of this. I moved to a new town two a few years back, and have been to ten or so different churches in this town. I mostly go to one church, but am still not a member of it. I'll probably continue to seek out more, and try to learn more about each. I also believe this is good. I believe that people get mixed up "church" with "Christianity". Meaning, they believe that one church or one denomination is "right" and everyone else is wrong. I grew up in a nondenominational Christian church and then became Catholic after I was married. The Catholic traditions really make me feel closer to God. But, I understand that many of those traditions are man made traditions. Many of the traditions that were in the church that I grew up with were man made traditions. That doesn't mean they are wrong. That simply means that that group of people feel closer to God following those traditions. The same can be said about many of the "rules" that various churches preach. I take solace in a similar thought. When I was a kid I used to wonder about odd situations--things like what happened to the souls of babies who died? Or what happens to aborigines from remote Australia who had never even heard of God or Jesus? Later I reasoned, if God is omniscient and knows all from A to Z, then who better to make judgement calls like these? I think God is more likely to make the right call (100% likely) than, say, a B1G Ten officiating crew looking at replay tape. lol Further than that, since God made these people in the first place (babies, aborigines) then it's not my place or anyone else's place to second guess what He has in store for them. This is something that I have always felt very strongly about. I take very seriously the passage that says we are not the judge of man...God is. So often Christians or religious people get together in a group and they "judge" everyone else that isn't in that group. This can be individuals in a church or the church itself. I believe that goes right against everything Jesus taught us. Love the sinner...Hate the sin. I think many Christians will state that saying but their actions are not conducive to...Love the sinner. I was very fortunate that I grew up in a church that taught us to never trust one man or one preacher or one church. Read the bible and decide for yourself what is right.
  3. Is tonights game on TV anywhere?
  4. Very nice deer. Can I ask what region of the state that is in?
  5. I can't argue with you on The Daily Show and Colbert. I honestly haven't watched them much. I have tried watching them but, I find myself feeling the same about them that I did about Letterman and Leno during the Clinton administration. Now, I was absolutely no fan of the Clintons but, I also didn't find the subjects something I wanted to joke about. I have a hard time listening to someone who constantly makes every issue a joke and tries to be funny with it. That's just me though. I have seen some clips of The Daily Show that were just dang funny. I just don't want a steady dose of it every day.
  6. Was she there on official business as an " intelligence officer in the U.S. Military Reserve". Now, that fact might not make it illegal that she had the documents. But, unless she was there on official business....why did she have the documents? I can see the movie scene now: Patraeus (laying in bed smoking a ciggy) = "OMG.....that was unbelievable" Braodwell = "Oh honey....I had no clue you would be so good......BTW....do you happen to have the secret spy reports on Iran's efforts to get nukes and blow up Israel? Reading classified documents turn me on so much."
  7. I generally like listening to what he has to say. I'm not going to go as far as to say he is fantastic and always right on the money because I haven't obviously heard everything he has said or written and the moment I write this, someone will post something stupid he said or wrote. However, I can't honestly say I can dismiss what he is saying here.
  8. Here is a big part of why this needs to be investigated thoroughly. LINK Petraeus Scandal: Paula Broadwell in Classified Document Probe I believe this is a huge issue. A so called author gets close to the top dude in the CIA, sleeps with him and ends up with large amounts of classified documents at her home. Hmmm....Now, I am someone who loves spy novels and movies. Maybe I have seen way too many of them and read too many books. BUT, this cries "spy" to me. I can not imagine any reason why classified documents should be at the home of an author doing a biography on someone.
  9. Both Fox and MSNBC are pathetic excuses of "news" networks. Both tear down America's ability to have a well balanced and educated populace. I wouldn't call the three situations listed below as "scandals". What I find more interesting is that a certain segment of the voters refuse to accept that this President/administration has made mistakes and has done some stupid things. I also find it interesting that everything like this, the supporters and the administration all claim things like this happen well below the President. BUT, any little good thing that happens he is standing there taking credit for. Well, if the good things are the result of his actions, then why isn't the bad things that happen within his government?
  10. I have one very similar to this and I'm not happy with it.
  11. Hear, hear. And at the same time, making sure only legal people vote once.
  12. It very well might have been. The the GOP is going to have a very ugly internal civil war between the thinking part of the party, and the Tea Party sect. Unfortunately I can see how it is likely to turn out. If the Republican leadership had any mix of brains and balls, they would kick out everyone who is associated with the Tea Party. Wrong. I'm not a tea partier, but, they shouldn't be "kicked out" of the party. They just need to stop being the main voice of the party. The Dems didn't "kick out" the extreme liberal wack jobs. They simply stopped catering to them openly and started talking to the middle.
  13. Can't argue any of your theories. Something just doesn't feel right about this entire issue.
  14. I agree. I love this country the way it is as far as structure. But, the problems we have, the majority can't stomach what it will take to fix it.
  15. Obviously the top goal for Bo as head coach is to win championships. However, to get to that point, you must first raise the level of play and at the same time bring stability to the program. I believe he has done that and being probably one of 3-4 programs since 2008 to win 9 games per year after this season proves that. Also, he will have played in 3 CCGs in 5 years in two different conferences. I'll go to my grave believing one was robbed from us.
  16. After the last 4 weeks and what this team has the ability to accomplish, I would be very surprised if they come out flat this weekend. To get beat by either Minnesota or Iowa, they would need to be completely flat and uninspired. I don't see that happening. IF they come out with a mission and focused, I see them winning both of these last two games by more than 20 points. I'll take Nebraska against this spread.
  17. Ok, we have 14 commits. Offense: 1 QB 1 WR 3 OL 1 TE Defense: 2 DE 2 S 1 CB 3 LB I see us taking 22 - 24 in this class. That leaves 8-10 more players. It looks like to me we need to add to the class: 2-3 DT 1-2 RB 1 TE 2-3 OL 1 CB Is this how others see this class finishing out?
  18. My family always cringes when I use a knife. I actually am pretty good but in the last year I cut myself pretty bad twice. I stabbed myself once while cleaning a deer last year and then just about chopped the end of my thumb off chopping bell peppers this summer. My biggest question to anyone is what do you use to keep your knives sharp? I have have never been satisfied with my ability to sharpen my knives.
  19. Just stop and think for a moment the impact that will have on actually reversing our fiscal situation: both parties continuing to meet in the middle, agreeing that government bloat and waste is the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you identify as extremely conservative, then hoping that your party changes course to being moderately conservative in order to win is nonsense. Then get used to losing elections like this. Would you rather have someone like Obama in office or someone at least somewhat conservative. Obama is in office when many very liberal groups were very upset with him during his first term. But, they at least get a little bit of what they want.
  20. Heard was in on the first two series of the game.
  21. This is going to sound like I'm arguing with my own post. The Republicans need to do what the Dems have done and been very successful at doing. A number of years ago the Dems realized they are not going to be successful catering to the extreme. They realized that the liberal extreme will vote Dem no matter what. So, they stopped talking about them and talked to the people in the middle. I believe there has been a concerted effort within the Dem party to keep the extreme quiet. The Republicans on the other hand act like they have to constantly keep the extreme conservative happy and talk only to them. That leaves the middle with nobody they are proud to call "theirs". This election was decided by 2.3% of the vote. If the Republicans every figure this out, they can be very powerful.
  22. You are partially correct. There is going to be a big war in the party. However, neither part of the party has "won". Just because one part has been more vocal doesn't mean they have won.
  23. I know this is just fictional and people are playing around with this. BUT, I have absolutely no desire to to live in arguably a part of the bread basket of the world only to not have a port to export our ag products to our customers without going through other countries or common wealths. That said, I wouldn't mind being separated by the left and right coast sometimes.
  24. What did people find this weekend hunting deer? It appears that the population is WAY down in the area that I hunt. This is southern Custer County. This is either due to EHD or the drought or both.
  25. During the game, PSU's QB and their head coach at one point appeared to be complaining to the officials about the noise level. They appeared to want a penalty called on us. Did I see that right and what is the rule on this? I have never seen a flag thrown because of crowd noise but it appeared to be something that he and the coach obviously talked about before the game to try to get done. I hope the crowd got 10 times louder when they tried this.
