  1. Everyone's an offensive coordinator. Everyone's an offensive coordinator. +1 Our offense isn't doing that bad the big problem is that MIch. has a very good defense.
  2. Some people complaining we aren't running the ball enough and others saying we should stop running it.
  3. Other than the turnover and penalties it was a very solid half. I will say a lot of those penalties could go either way. Offense needs to be on the field more and maybe slow the tempo down a little bit they have to be killing us in TOP.
  4. Stealing? and OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUSKER FOOTBALL IS ENDING AS WE KNOW IT!!!!!!!! WE MIGHT AS WELL SHUT DOWN THE ENTIRE PROGRAM AND GO INTO MANY YEARS OF DEEP DEPRESSION. :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh
  5. Wow..that balloon deflating comment came quick. Of course, you are right Clyde40...there are thousands of negatives we could talk about, but let's don't on this thread. Why not just enjoy the splendor and relive a brief moment of aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. Agreed I enjoy the positive post. I wasn't trying to bring down the whole thing it's always fun to watch since I was only two years old when this game was played. It is amazing how much the game has changed since then though. Jeez Clyde..make me feel like a fool and open my eyes. I tend to forget (a sign of my age)...that not everyone remembers being at those games. I'm not spoofing either...you are right..why should folks who didn't see it get too excited. Lesson learned. Thanks. Anyway...if you watch a bit of that you'll see why so many on here (including me from time to time) get all riled up about wanting things to be like they were "back in the day"...heh heh. Hey I completely understand I've watched plenty of the old games on YouTube and I can understand why people get so upset about some of the games lately. The only thing I hate is when people say that we are a mediocre team and blow things way out of proportion. That's kind of why I made the comment. I don't think people remember that even in our greatest run in the history of Nebraska Football that we had a major blemish. Heck you could even compare the 97 Mizzou game to the game last Saturday. I wish that those games didn't happen so often today but, we're still rebuilding from the Callahan debacle.

  7. Just don't show the 96 game in Tempe, that was embarassing.
  8. +1 that's great and all I have to say about the Northwestern fan is GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Let's just let the Northwestern game go. It doens't help to play the what if game all day and say we shouldn't of won that game. It really doesn't matter WE DID WIN. When it came down to crunch time through all the struggles they found a way to win. The only part of the game we didn't dominate was the scoreboard we should be proud of the team for fighting and winning. Yes it's not what we wanted but hey it wasn't how they wanted the game to go too, it's just the way it happens. At least they didn't fold at halftime, or the third quarter especially after the way the Ohio State game went.
  10. Those 3 games they also had a different starter in. Since Stave has started, they are undefeated with the exception of us, and are winning at a larger margin than we are. Stave did start against UTEP, it was his first start though.
  11. ^^ This. Doesn't anyone remember how painful and disruptive it is to hire a new coach? It's not like we would instantly get better. We would likely lose most of the recruiting class. And we would have a roster full of guys who don't necessarily fit the new schemes (on both sides of the ball). The best we could hope for is two or three throw-away years while the new staff gets things going their way. Even then we might not be any better than now. The best option for NU is to stay the course with Pelini. I would feel the same way if we had failed to convert that last TD and NW won the game. /+1 to Joe.. And, oh yeah, this thread is chock full of win. Stupidity and win! I agree, we are so close and within the next two years I firmly believe we will turn the corner. With the mess that Callahan made and Bo being a first time head coach this wasn't going to be turned around just in four or five years. I've said it several times that Bo's first two recruiting classes were terrible for obvious reasons: 5-7 season and first year coach. It's gotten better Bo now has a solid foundation. You're going to get better players if you prove that you can win at least eight games every season and we're starting to see that.
  12. Another thing I've noticed mentioned by Bo in the last few pressers is the fumbles and mental mistakes. He's said that they preach and work on those things in practice and it doesn't happen until they get to the game. I don't think it's a coaching issue. Corey Ross was on Big Red Reaction and he said that when you have fumble issues, like Nebraska has, that guys think about it too much and the problem doesn't get fixed.
  13. Didn't one of the students say the playbook was harder to learn then their school work? This is probably a fact. At 99.9% of the programs around the country, unfortunately, or, unless youre pre-med. I know guys that played for an NAIA school that said school work was easier than the mentalities of football, and that was almost 10 years ago. I'm just also going to throw it out there that the last time I checked student athletes only have to get a 14 on the ACT. Wrong! 18! My bad either way they have a free education I got a 25 and have to come up with over $11,000 a year lol

  15. But just barely. See the status of recruiting battle (NU ranks: #33 -- NW ranks: #35) I'm still undecided between "Fire Bo" or "Bo Knows" ballot. But, Oregon is 32nd and OU right behind us. From the past couple years it seems that the recruiting has gotten better. Kenny Bell really comes to mind and I can't wait to see the defense with the young talent that is on that side of the ball.
  16. Michigan isn't exactly a world-beater. I haven't been to a blowout loss and I don't expect to attend one on Saturday. This is usually the time of the year where we put together a good solid game against a good solid opponent. We win this one. I feel it. Yes but you know it's the natural thing to say all week how bad we suck and how the opponent is going to blow us out then if/when we win they are the worst team in the nation. lol I agree though, these guys aren't the most talented team that's for sure but, they have the most fight since Bo's been here IMO.
  17. Also this was their family weekend game.
  18. It's nice to know somebody else saw what I did. The scoreboard did not tell tell the whole story of the game. Obviously turnovers hit us hard and field position in the first quarter didn't help us out much. The 80 yard touchdown run was the only big breakdown by the D.
  19. Why is it when we win, the opposing team sucks? I didn't realize FLU was back... and if our opposing teams didn't suck than we we couldn't bi*ch all week and have a roast of Bo Pelini. Oh almost forgot FIRE BARNEY! lol
  20. What if Husker Board wasn't full of people talking out their a$$es and creating topics?
  21. I was going to say Grandma kudos for beating my to the punch lol
  22. Mistakes happen... they seem to happen to Nebraska more often but, most of the time the team does a pretty good job recovering. We found out a lot about this team, after Ohio State they could have easily given up at halftime.
  23. That's not the way football is played anymore. Hasnt been for over a decade. This isnt high school or pop warner. So the fact that we are ranked 5th in rushing yards means nothing I guess? Also great point look back at 1997 even T.O. had changed his offense a bit because they style of play was changing. I don't care if it's Northwestern, we won you all were going off how we were going to lose because our defense is terrible and we held them to 301 yards. The Huskers made mistakes but, they overcame them and that's the important part.
  24. There, I fixed your typos. LOL. See, I put the little "sarcasm guy" after my post, so that makes everything all better. Lol I like it and I'm not the one to get all butt hurt about it. I don't know about you but I'm very proud to say that we have so many successful NCAA champion level coaches among us.
  25. FIRE BARNEY! sorry wanted to be the first to say it
