  1. I've watched it and I'm like you it's just a joke. I lost a lot of respect too because he just bashes the coaches and players for an hour and a half or so. I thought he was better than that.
  2. Did FLU join the NW bandwagon? lol I will say it's easy to take this too seriously when reading it the first time through because of all the crap that's been on the board the past two weeks.
  3. With the physical description of himself and his level of intelligence it reminded me of mongo in Blazing Saddles. Look out everybody we have a bada$$ over here!
  4. So an offense averaging over 500 yards a game, is ranked 6th in rushing, and 8th in points scored is terrible because we don't run plays that you feel necessary? Also this is totally different than the Watson offense it was never this productive.
  5. Different week, different scheme, totally different circumstances. Tonight Indiana didn't turn the ball over and had four penalties. They aren't better but, they did have a cleaner game playing Ohio State than we did that and it was played at Indiana.
  6. When was his last tantrum this season? Last game. Sideline report came back after halftime I believe. Something to the effect of "I tried to interview Bo Pelini and he was trite offering nothing but one word answers." Sounded like a tantrum to me. So one word tantrums? How would you behave after witnessing your team perform like that? Just to add another point how does ESPN try to portray Bo? Everytime we get a penalty or anything goes wrong boom a camera is right on him. Also in the National Championship game last year Saban blew up on an O linemen for a false start in the fourth quarter when Alabama had complete control of the game. Of course Herbstreit and Burnt Cheeseburger acted like he was a saint because he demands perfection.
  7. Well if they are mediocre and we are as mediocre as everybody says then either way we shouldn't be 13th in passing defense.
  8. And IF my gradma had a three piece set then she would be my grandpa.
  9. Cause Stoops had a better team right away than Pelini... Exactly. Stoops had the personel he needed from the beginning, basically handed to him. Unlike Pelini, it was "Hey Callahan is gone, keep what you want, and hire who you need, but keep Shawn Watson" Eventually he got smart and helped him find another job and promoted Tim Beck. Another guy who had no experience, but he proved everyone wrong with a dynamic offense. Bo's best defenses came from Callahan players... Pelini got players who talents were wasted, and luckily he was able to turn them into great players. The ONLY thing Callahan could do, was recruit, I have never denied that, but he had the most talent being wasted, than I have ever seen. Being a first time HC, its hard to recruit. VERY hard, and having no big names under you, its even more difficult. We have big names, and ones he trusts, which will make recruiting better for the years to come, and the commit list so far should show that. Just look at guys like Ameer and Kenny Bell. They are young and very talented we have those guys on the other side of the football but, Bo has always liked to save them and let them develop. However I want to see more of them in the second half of this season even if it isn't every down.
  10. This kind of comment continues to mystify me. The passing game has worked very well for us. The running game has worked very well for us. The running and passing game have worked very well together, and our current ratio clearly favors the run. Declaring your intent to run the ball more will only result in a stacked box against you and stop the running game in its tracks. The running game is also severely compromised when the defense folds and you need 21 points in 15 minutes. It was, however, a solid passing game that helped engineer the biggest comebacks in Husker history the past two seasons. You can't snap your fingers and make it 1995, with a legendary offensive line in place. And I'll bet that team passed more than some of you remember. Or are you talking about Taylor Martinez's four interceptions this season? Cause we have twice as many fumbles. Does that mean the running game is skull fu**ing us? I bet nobody was complaining when we came out after halftime and hit two big pass plays on our way to the endzone then forget on our next drive we ran the ball and had a three and out. I also agree if you go back and watch old games Dr. Tom threw the ball more than a lot of people think. Sadly I have to just enjoy youtube videos of full games since I was born in '93.
  11. Well a prime example is all the bi*ching that went on after we won 73-7......
  12. If anything will cost Bo his job it is his stubborn ways. I am in support of Bo and think he will get it done if we give him the chance, do we really want to make another Solich mistake?
  13. Well we have to try something since we are so medicore right now. Since we'd rather hire a 2nd year coach out of Vandy that went 6-7 last season and is now sitting at 2-3. I wonder what Husker Board would be like if we were truly as terrible as people are making us out to be.
  14. Yeah, it was real funny. What is his record without Cam Newton? What that shows is that 1 truely great player can really make that much of a difference. Braxton Miller is pretty close to that right now and in 2 years he will be very scary. Also RG3 at Baylor, which is funny since in the "Name your coach" thread people mentioned Art Briles.
  15. No matter what he would have said in that situation people would be complaining about it. No use blaming him, it's all Barney Cotton's fault. lol
  16. Undefeated every year and win three out of every four national championships like Dr. Tom did his whole career.
  17. Like getting shut out by Arizona State and Jake Plummer in '96? or the '91 Citrus Bowl, 45 -21 loss to GT? or the 41-17 loss the year before to Florida State? or 23-3 loss to Miami the year before? Also the team was outside of the top 10 several times with TO even unranked a couple times.
  18. Nebraska I'm not for firing Bo I actually came here to the BS forum to get away from that crap lol but that OL coach.... FIRE BARNEY lol and maybe even GT sitting at 2-4 which is funny since a few people want Paul Johnson to come here
  19. I've said it before, I'm a student at ISU and he's not leaving anytime soon. Furthermore Jamie Pollard and the athletic staff choos Neb. as a role model to where they want their program to be. Not where we were, what we are now. Which is funny since everybody is bi*ching how terrible we are. Funny, because i to live in iowa and i heard coach Rhodes say that ISU wasnt going to be his final stop. Had an interview with soundoff at the beginning of the year and he said that. I remember because there was a huge article in the Register the next day about him saying he wouldnt stay at ISU forever. If coach Rhodes finds larger pastures with better recruting abilities he will go. I was just going off of the ten year contract he signed in December which I know doesn't always mean anything but you would think he would want to stay here a while doing that. Also just what I've read in the paper on campus and his comments he's made on his radio show.
  20. What type of job do you think that Bo walked into? This team was pitiful, and the defense was flat out embarrassing. Yes, much worse than this year. Like I said, Fitzgerald could be argued. To me, Northwestern, ISU, and Vandy are all in the same category: average teams that barely make it to bowl games, but once or twice a year, they beat a team they have no business beating. That is what those programs are. If that's what we want Nebraska to become permanently, then by all means, let's dump Bo and hitch our wagon to the land of mediocrity. And I don't mean win-8-or-9-games type of mediocrity. I mean ACTUAL mediocrity of 6 or 7 wins every year and shipping our team off to the toilet bowl in mid-December. Bo has won 9 or 10 games EVERY season he has been here so far. I hope he does it again this season. This year, our defense is slow, unathletic, and just plain not getting the job done. IMO that is a result of the first 2 recruiting classes Bo had here. They were sub-par. Since then, he has found out how important recruiting is, and it has picked up. I am in the group that wants to see what Bo can do in 2 or 3 years when those younger guys are leading the team. If it doesn't work out at that point, then oh well, we move on. It's just a little ridiculous to think that any other coach that has been mentioned that would REALISTICALLY come here could do better than what Bo has done in his first 4 years. This is exactly how I feel about things. People use the "Well this is his 5th year..." excuse way to much. That and the coaches people are throwing out wouldn't do any better than Bo. I hope we get some of these younger guys into games this second half of the season so people can see we're making progress. No use making another Solich mistake.
  21. They are Iowa State....I actually find it a little bit insulting. Hehe. But yet people want Paul Rhodes here lol doesn't add up and I know where your coming from.
  23. I really hope you forgot to add in the sarcasm emoticon? I hope most of these people are because most of these guys mentioned would do no better than Bo.
  24. I think we have some talent on the offensive side of the ball, but on the defensive side, where is the good talent? They are young and don't understand Bo's system yet. Hopefully they get in the game more from here on out.
