  1. So we shouldn't have separate nations in North America because wars might break out? You realize that Predator drones, a product of the United States of America, are bombing the hell out of women and children in the Middle East right now, right? What makes our lives more sacred than theirs?
  2. Is that a bad idea? Why fight the inevitable? Why not work out a peaceful transition? I saw that as well. The midwest falling under Canadian influence? Ha ha. How many civil wars are part of that model?
  3. A nation that abolished statehood and ruled over one single entity - is that any different than what we have now? I think that small nations, divided by economic, cultural, and geographic factors, would be able to better govern themselves than a massive central government and a one size fits all approach. Rome collapsed under the weight of its bureaucracy and military imperialism. Why repeat history when we already know the outcome?
  4. Life is finite. All good things come to an end. What makes you think that the United States of America will last forever?
  5. Thank you for stating the obvious. I'm talking about separate nations, divided by cultural, economic, and geographic factors. For example, here's a map of a hypothetical nine nation North America.
  6. Here's a WSJ article from 2009 that discusses the topic: Link I sometimes wonder if splitting the country into separate Republics would be the best course of action for the future. My opinion is that most government should be handled at the state level. Splitting up the the United States would put an end to the massive military industrial complex and the massive government expansion that has occurred in the last century. I wonder if, centuries from now, the world will be split into hundreds of small nations rather than a one world nation. Thoughts? Agree or disagree?
  7. The team is mentally tough. Congrats to Pelini & company on a big win.
  8. Why would anyone want to pass a bill like this into law? Why do politicians pass laws such as the Patriot Act and NDAA into law? What is going through their narrow minds? This kind of sh#t infuriates me.
  9. I'm glad Romney didn't get elected. This way Rand Paul can run for President in 2016. By then the economy will have crashed again and more people will be open to libertarian ideas. One of the good things about an Obama re-election is that he can push for the legalization of gay marriage. I'd like to see him end the drug war as well.
  10. Perhaps the white freshman quarterback is faster than the black senior safety?
  11. I figured Michigan would be up by 4 touchdowns by now. The defense has been impressive. How refreshing would it be if Nebraska dominated the second half and took control of the division?
  12. Nebraska's defense is mediocre, down by 11 points, and Ciante Evans is talking sh#t to the Northwestern sideline.
  13. Not a bad plan. We could also force the politicians to fight in the front lines of any wars they want to get involved in. If we could get all of Earth to agree to that, war would cease overnight. lol. So many chickenhawks in Congress and in the media.
  14. I thought about the debate throughout the day and was excited when 8:00 came around. I watched two minutes of the debate before I changed the channel. I can't stand Obama or Romney.
  15. Yeah, those asshat founding fathers and their liberty-driven principles, am I right? They were completely anarcho-capitalist... I can't stand Ron Paul! He's always going on and on about reducing the size of government and sound monetary policies. And he's always bitching about our military policing the world, nation buidling, and the never ending wars. Blah blah blah. What a crackpot!
  16. You not getting the Biden hate probably has something to do with you being a liberal and an Obama supporter. I dislike Biden because of the way he acts. He is the Vice President and a 69 year old man, yet he spent the entire debate laughing and interrupting like he was a 17 year old boy with something to prove. He's supposed to be the seasoned politician, he should have been the calm and respectful individual, not Ryan.
  17. Ryan looked inexperienced and boring. Biden is a clown and has no business being Vice President of the United States.
  18. I want an athletic department run by highly qualified, competent individuals. I want an elite head coach that hires elite assistants and recruits the best players nationwide. More than anything, I want an athletic department, a football program and, in particular, a head football coach who conducts himself in a respectable manner and doesn't embarass the university and the state of Nebraska at every turn of the road. Honestly, I'd overlook the big losses and the four loss seasons if Pelini didn't act like such a condescending, insecure, bullying prick. But he does act that way and I disdain him because of it.
  19. We have already surrendered the Big 10 to Michigan and Ohio State and the gap is only going to grow with each recruiting class. They have better head coaches and better coaching staffs that are willing to put time into recruiting. Pelini dug himself into a hole with his first five recruiting classes and it will take years for him to dig himself out of it, if he's capable of that at all.
  20. Chris Peterson or Mark Richt. Both are experienced head coaches and proven winners. Richt is an Omaha native and grew up a Husker fan. He's a good recruiter and he's been a consistent winner at Georgia. He's also a religious guy, which I think Osborne would appreciate. Peterson has done a fantastic job at Boise State and has won some big games with a limited talent pool and limited resources. I think he would do well here.
  21. Five years of lazy recruiting has caught up to Pelini.
