  1. Damon Benning was hinting that we may have a decent shot here. Saying that Allen is looking for a school with a senior QB in 2016 so the position would be open for competition following the year he would have to sit out.
  2. Very interesting tweet from Fitzpatrick. Especially because one of the pictures is them in their Nebraska gear on the visit.
  3. We actually might have to switch to a 3-4 out of necessity. We're getting some solid LB recruits thanks to Bray. Hughes on the other hand is really struggling to get anything done on the recruiting trail.
  4. Knight certainly has the talent. That sugar bowl against Alabama was extremely impressive. Last year was pretty ugly but maybe he just needs a fresh start. I would certainly take him, would be solid depth to have if he didn't win the QB battle.
  5. Heard that Trevor Knight from Oklahoma may be available. He would be a solid option.
  6. And also indicates why Farrar is getting an in home on Monday.
  7. 4th down play wasn't the best play call but it was designed to go to Carter and it was open. If Armstrong runs the play properly, it's an easy 1st down.
  8. Solid read and a very good point about penalties and discipline. The argument could be made that this is also due to the 'buying-in' from the players, more attention to detail and effort will lead to fewer penalties. FYI, the article says when Iowa comes to town the Saturday after thanksgiving, should be Friday.
  9. Playing fast and really attacking in transition. Defense is solid too despite being undersized. All the new guys this year look like contributors.
  10. We got handled by Purdue on both sides of the line. They were able to get pressure on us relatively easily and put our run game in check. On the other side of the ball, we were unable to generate any sort of pressure. When they needed a close out drive, they ran the ball down the field for a score. The struggle of both lines have been the biggest issue this team has, not coaching, not the QB, but the line. When both sides consistently lose the battle at the LOS, you're never going to be a very good football team.
  11. Yeah the buyout for Riley after this year would be ridiculous, plus we're still paying Bo. Riley won't get fired this year and will probably only get fired next year if we don't make a bowl game. Firing him means Eichorst is pretty much is admitting that he was wrong and I don't see that happening. I'm not happy about this loss, or the way the season has been, but you guys are ridiculous. You don't fire a coach after one year.
  12. Yes but both of Brown's missed field goals matter. Plus they would have probably had worse starting field position on the final possession.
  13. $120 online for the Iowa game is actually a decent deal. Especially in the new seats, I've sat there for a couple games and I prefer those to either end zone. Much better view and more room between seats.
  14. I'll take a crack at next years lineup: (no incoming freshmen included) 1. Boldt CF 2. Schleppenbach 2B 3. Alvarado 3B 4. Miller DH 5. Schreiber 1B 6. Dilday RF 7. Fish C 8. Myers LF 9. Reveles SS pitching rotation: 1- Burkamper 2 - King 3 - not sure
  15. I think the argument could be made for Alex Lewis on offense. He is a solid pass blocker that protects the blindside and our depth at Tackle is atrocious.
  16. He is just an all around great athlete and playmaker. Would be great to have him, he could play multiple different positions.
  17. Reminded me a lot of our basketball season. I think next year can be better. We keep Boldt, Miller, Schlep. We also had some promising freshmen that should improve to some nice players, King, Schreiber, Alvarado and even Dilday.
  18. Big fan of his running style. Has a great combo of size and speed and gets north/south very quickly. Sign him up because his recruitment will blow up.
  19. Unless we get Mitchell to commit before next recruiting cycle then I think we should.Wilson is also athletic enough to succeed at a different position if QB doesn't work, could be compared to the AJ Bush situation.
  20. Have to say I'm a little surprised by this one. Has potential as a passer but wasn't as much of a finished product as I would like. Didn't show a lot of anticipation on his throws and didnt move through his progressions as well. But I trust the coaches on this one.
  21. From watching his highlights, it looked like he carried that team almost every play, was under pressure almost immediately. If this school is a better team, it could really help his rankings/numbers.
