Not sure what happened to this thread, but word around here is that Notre Dame is no longer in the mix and it's down to ASU and the Huskers.

Chandler HS is a very good football program out here. Recent alums were Dion Jordan and Brett Hundley. They've got a brutal two game schedule coming up though, with Valor Christian tonight and Mountain Pointe (home of Paul Lucas) next week.

Welcome to the board! Great insight about the U as well. As a lifelong Husker fan, I've always hated all of the Florida schools, mostly because it seemed like we always lost to them when I was growing up. Then the "Thug U" era came along and it just made my hatred grow. Seeing that program drop made me quite happy... However, I honestly believe that it's better for college football in general for schools like Miami to be relevant and consistently in the top 20. He is definitely getting a lot of attention here, that's for sure. People can't wait to see him play.

Unfortunately he pulled up with a hamstring issue at the state meet (after the 100, I think). I was really hoping to see him run live, but he was unable to compete in the other events. He is an amazing athlete though.

I would agree with Colorado. However, outside of Husker rivals, the University of Arizona is the worst fan base I've ever encountered. The ASU/UofA rivalry is nasty, but their fans take it to a whole other level.

I know that I wanted to assault a bunch of Shehawks fans after the Super Bowl too. This guy is aces in my book!

My son ran at a meet that Lucas was at yesterday. Apparently he's very impressive in person. He ran a 46.86 400m. Wow.

Yep, I remember them doing that when he made a good play. But I remember a time that must have been his last home game, when he was announced individually and ran out on the field, and the place was completely quiet. The TV showed the fans signing their cheers, and it was an incredible moment.

I will never forget seeing that on TV (I think it was senior day or something), and how incredible that moment was. It was so quiet in the stadium with all of the fans signing their cheers for him. Definitely a proud moment as a Husker fan.

Wow, Va Tech knows how to do it right. That entire stadium was rocking. I'd love to see that happen for us, but I don't know that it will ever get that crazy there.

Yep, Mt. Pointe beat Bishop Gorman this year, and this kid is a stud. I would love to have him join the Huskers, but I expect ASU and UofA to make a very big push for him.
