  1. Wow.. Just wow. We get to keep the new and improved pieces as well, you know.
  2. One problem with this arcticle is that you don't get to say that Wandale was the better RB even when Mill's was healthy and then turn around and act like Mill's leaving would be devastating. Listen, if 5'8 170 pounds is out performing Mill's, then losing whatever Mill's brought to this offense isn't the end of the world. We have to be better at that position, not cling to the hope of a guy that isn't getting it done 2 years in a row.
  3. The NFL will find you if you can play even if you are working at a Subway making lunch.
  4. AM will be fine if we can get him some dudes to throw to.
  5. Even if I give you this point, I would still argue much easier to replace one Wandale esque type athlete compared to a competent OL. So, still the focus should be on the lines, and those seem to be coming along. That's the foundation, then you add the sparkles. I hope among hope that Wandale stays because we need the men with the experience of the past 2 years to help add gravity to the future improvement should the corner turn. I also really like the kid.. Seems like a class act and a great boon to the program.
  6. I hope the food conversation finds it's way to the transfer portal soon.
  7. I agree with this info he is all but gone. That said, I don't necessarily think it means the staff is toast. You can't have one player hold sway over the entire program. It is up to this staff to find a way to make up for his productivity and it is up to this staff to show an improved team next year, but it is not up to this staff to keep all players here for 5 years. All the same, really sucks. Love Wandale and not sure where to place all of these emotions.
  8. Too bad we can't just ask Wandale.
  9. Who is the recruit? How about we start there.
  10. Special teams only matters if you complain about it, not when it goes well.
  11. Plenty annoying to come start an entire thread to neer ner neer on a Husker message board and bash our QB in the process.... The guy is a toolbag no matter how you slice it.
  12. I think its pretty rough to make much judgment on a kid that didn't even get a waiver to play until the 6th game of a Covid ruined season.
  13. Too bad you don't follow a team with it's own message boards...
  14. I would also argue that several of Martinez' strip sacks are precisely because he is not paying attention to rushers near him and instead scanning the field.
  15. I will never understand why our school has a patent on 0-15+ runs. It has to be something in the energy drinks. Painful.
  16. I would hope he wouldn't until he has a chance to see guys that he feels are the best shot at running what he wants to do on offense and defense get a chance to mature and run it. If, at that point, it doesn't work, I have no reason to believe he will be unwilling to change. He changed from Stanford to NU when he realized going West was a mistake for him. He changed from QB to safety when asked to in order to improve his chance at success there. He's made large changes each and every year that he has been here in order to better position his team for success. Hell, he changed from "his guy" in Adrian mid season with the hope that it would lead to a better product on the field. He has actually never shown he is unwilling to change when he is pretty sure he needs too. I wouldn't expect him to change up his entire philosophy until its had a legitimate chance to shine.
  17. Silliest angle I have heard when it comes to Frost's offense. To pretend that he was a QB that's career revolved around the pass is hilarious. Guy had to change to defense to get a chance in the league because he was a QB that couldn't throw the ball worth a damn and in fact, won a natty with his legs.
  18. No, there is a definite difference in how different generations handle themselves, and to argue that todays under 30 crowd isn't much more, "me first, now," is silly. The older generation is just upset because we were all duped into taking everybody's happiness into account when were coming up in the game. A prime example is how common "ghosting," has become in society. Years ago, you didn't "ghost" a job interview because you will have wasted another person's time and efforts. Now, it is all about if you even feel like showing up that morning. It is crap, but it is what it is. I will never be convinced that being rude and self centered and demanding instant gratification is best for very many people in the long run, and I think that is already starting to show in overall decreased happiness across the board in society. The rules of existence haven't changed which leads to a disconnect over the long haul when people feel they should be able to get what they want at the push of the button but are constantly reminded that the best things in life still come with planning and work and time and so are left feeling empty. But I digress, the transfer portal is another manifestation of this. It has been shown over and over and over again that the majority of the kids that enter do not improve their status overall. Now, we can make excuses that where ever they ended up was exactly what they were seeking, we can move the goalposts to fit the narrative like we do with JD, ie, he got a new experience in a warm place so it was still a good move, but if we are calling a spade a spade, his better move would have been to swallow his ego and stick it out another year at NU. Wandale leaving might end up being a great move for him personally, nobody can see into the future. But it will hurt ALOT of people in it's wake and is a very high risk/low reward move. I hope the Wandale part of the rumor isn't true because I have always looked at him like I look at Martinez, guys that are committed to the state and the program as leaders.
  19. But can you change it to not include Wandale, please?
  20. Wandale leaving alone would be a mass exodus. F Scott if that happens.
  21. I understand as fans why we have these thoughts, I mean, honestly as a fan, I would choose a different team if I could.. So it makes sense we think the players would be looking at other options. That said, at some point it is actually on them to fix it. I mean, not everybody can transfer. If you are a starter on an offense that is the reason this team underperforms week in and week out, you are the reason for the losses and you are on the hook to get it fixed imo.
  22. Kept up on that deep ball against Minnesota too and knocked it away downfield. Probably not fast enough for the NFL in that capacity, but certainly there may be a place for him somewhere, but doubt he see's Gerry heights. Although, in fairness, was always blown away Gerry found as much success as he did in the league.
