  1. The Texas State thing never made sense to me anyway. I understand a bit if he wants to play QB, fine. But you'd have to assume the dream is the NFL, and if that is the end goal but every major schools tells you that you aren't good enough at QB to help college teams, then the likelyhood you are good enough there for the NFL is not great. Convert to something else and get to work imo. Unless your goal is recognition as a good QB at Texas State.. Then go there.
  2. Ugh. That and the time drag is the opposite of good. But. It’s on Rhule to pull him in, and, if not, find a super quality replacement that he can win with. Sadly. In my heart, Dylan was already signed.
  3. We told him to fly a kite and he decided to fly off the handle instead.
  4. Or prefer to drive around town high and drunk as opposed to wasting time in class and practice.
  5. Nah, when Urban Meyer gets so bored during a broadcast of your defense getting schellacked by a mediocre Oklahoma team that he quickly and flippantly exposes on national TV how inept it is, most G5 coaches are going to also realize you aint got the chops. It was only because Frost was, literally, dumb, that those coaches were ever here.
  6. Yikes. My 12 year old is more creative w/ twitter than this.
  7. 50/50 via the transfer portal was way above Frost's general 20/80 actual program development .. I think NU was largely a place athletes were tricked into coming so that their careers could die. Hopefully all those numbers for solid contributors continues to increase to more normal P5 levels under Rhule.
  8. Well now he is awesome and will do great things here.
  9. I never said he should listen to me at all, I have no idea where would be best for him. Nobody pyscho analyzing him, but for those of us with kids attending East high currently, there is plenty of smoke about a kid who has always just magically been better than all of the competition and his work surrounding that. Again, I ACTUALLY said I hope he chooses a culture that will embrace his talent and allow him to grow up in a solid culture to develop into the NFL WR he can be, and I don't much care if it is NU. In fact, I am not even sure where NU currently stands and I would probably tell him to go elsewhere. I felt it was the right place with Mickey in the fold, but who knows what the room and program in general even look like moving forward. That said, I am not sure simply out athlete-ing the rest of the NCAA is in the cards for him. I don't get the sense that Deion is a development guy that will coddle and work with players. When you enter the locker room and tell the roster to hit the portal if you aren't making the cut, I am not convinced that if Coleman stumbles out of the gate there will be a soft landing for him in that program.
  10. The kid is drama, didn't put in work his senior season, didn't put up stats his senior season, has a piss poor diva attitude. As it stands right now, it's a tragic waste of athleticism. Maybe the flash of Deion is exactly what he needs, (doubt it.) This kid will have to crash hard at least once before he becomes the player that he can be, if he can even ever become that. Were he going to Bama or OSU I'd say he has a chance to embrace the culture, get to work, grow up and compete. But going to Aston Martin U with all of the other last minute dudes attracted to shiny things that are much more likely to grind out of the gate is not a recipe for success. If this kid has an adult in his life that can sit him down and look at things objectively, he'd better listen. Doesn't have to be NU, but there are much better fits at this time to mold him into the player/man he is gonna need to be. If he's flying solo on this decision, he'll have to endure some bumps, no doubt.
  11. Not sure the flash culture there is the best thing for him, but he's a big boy, he will have to learn his own lessons.
  12. I've just been saying, Umanalana ding dong in my head. Not joking...
  13. But is he leaving? Staying? Not even here anymore?
  14. I think one thing I am trying to force myself to consider. Maybe Rhule really is a coaches coach? If he is extra diligent, maybe he can be dabbling in all areas of the team and do it successfully, at least at the beginning here. I am skeptical, but I think it is only fair to give it a chance. I think we got so used to Frost being such a sub par coach we became infatuated with the idea that if he just had some really really good coordinators/position coaches it would save him and turn him into the coach we all wanted him to be. We were depending on quality experienced coaches to be able to come in and mentor him. Well, it didn't work out but it left us all unable to fathom a situation in which the HC actually selects talented staff and them helps train them to become great. Hopefully that is what we have here in Rhule, otherwise.. Oof.
  15. While nobody would condone TO's role back in the day, the fact of the matter is that those were very different times and society and culture moved very differently. Our society has progressed in a number of very positive ways, which is good. At that time, domestic abuse was very often not taken seriously. It wasn't even until RBG won the Oklahoma alcohol drinking age case in 1976 that women were even officially viewed as an actual person in the court of law, and even that was via a work around. At the same time, East Coast/West Coast culture with pervasive gang violence was at its peak. All of this led to a downplaying of what was considered mild criminal activity at the time. You need only understand that the national media was on all of this like white on rice and still made no actual impact in meaningful changes at any major school, NU included. TO didn't "hang" for anything because the judge and juries of the time didn't consider him to be mishandling things in any sort of gregarious manner.
  16. How did he handle it poorly if he didn't hit her and instead just walked away? I'd say that is about the best way you could handle a really bad situation.
  17. Some fair assessment and some not as fair. I will agree that offensive output is not going to cut it, but there is no question we game planned this game that way. Can we find offense when we need it in future games? Time will tell. That said, this game was coached to knock CU out of what they wanted to do. Running with them was never going to result in a W for us. To say the defense was helped by missed 3's is a bit unfair as, time after time, we ran them LATE into the shot clock. That was the game plan, so it isn't fair to say they missed a lot of those "forced shots" so we were lucky. Those shots were missed because of the working man's D we chose to play this game. The gamble w/ the game plan is that when you put so much effort into D, your O will suffer. Ours did, but ultimately the plan led to the W. I'll take it however lucky and ugly it was. Honestly, even up 10 with 2:30 left, I still assumed we'd fold and lose. For the most part, we played like a big boy team down the stretch, something NU teams don't do well very often.
