  1. You do realize that this "2nd or 3rd best recruiter" is just someone's opinion, right? Personally, I think he's #1. So there. you do realize that this "if your ain't first your last" is a quote from a movie right? Personally, my favorite is "I'm too drunk to taste this chicken" It's also often used by Navy SEALs. They also use the phrase: "2nd place is just the first loser." Although Navy SEALs know the difference between your and you're. And while such attitudes can foster immense competition, in reality, it simply isn't true especially pertaining to college football recruiting. Is the #1 ranked player at all positions always the truly best player at his position that year? Not. Even. Close. So just like there is a lot of interchangeability between ranked recruits at a given position, there is also that same interchangeability between recruiters. Who's #1 depends on what your metrics are. I understand all of this but the point I was making was the comment was clearly a joke I seemed to have left my sense of humor in bed this morning. Hang on, I'll go get it... Boooooo... why so serious. If you don't chew Big Red then f**k you. And before you go and get all serious... I will just let you know up front that is a quote. It could be three if you break it down
  2. Well let me be the person from this board to say we can outbid Arizona for this guy
  3. Ha! Rap music cause someone to drop some racial slurs good one. I love rap music old and new and I've never used a racial slur in my life Which is why I thought my sarcasm was so funny there. text can read pretty literal sometimes, my bad Its all good. I should have used something like this > That is my bad.

  5. I was at the FSU/ UF game this Saturday... we should hope to play the Gators. Their QB is no good and O Line is just OK. UF Defense is stellar when healthy which I would expect after a month. That would be an awesome game in general I think.
  6. This just in... people say ridiculous things on a football field. And some people do so with inappropriate and harsh words. They also get to legally maul one another. Not condoning the former... just saying it isn't the first time it has happened. I personally blame rap music.
  7. Guys its ok... one more year if it doesn't get better. Then Scott Frost will be our coach. No Big Ten title next year for MR... Scott continues his turnaround at UCF (gets them to 9 wins)... Boom. We have a guy who will come here and do what needs to be done. Don't take that the wrong way though... I would love this current staff to get us a Big 10 championship and more. I'm just saying that if it doesnt... then good ol Frost is coming home.
  8. Crystal Ball from Mike Schaefer... what do you know Mike? Intriguing...
  9. Well we look terrible. I feel like they are going to keep running it out to the edge all night like those sum bitch badgers in the Pelini era
  10. I'm saying we are down by ten at half but win by ten. 37 to 27. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
  11. How do we get this for Nebraska. I want a verbal recount from those involved from the point where the BIG 12 was created to our first year in the BIG 10. I could absolutely read people talk sh** on OU and Texas all day long - to know first hand the back stories on our time in the BIG 12. Id buy that book. Id buy that documentary. Hell I would help crowd fund either of those into creation if it was a thing.
  12. Really? Those are the two characteristics I'd consider him worst at. He might succeed despite his flaws (other coaches have), but mentally he's pretty unstable. He reminds me of Woody Hayes, who's instability was his ultimate undoing. The dude is pretty much an undisputed defensive genius. And despite the claims of his anger problem, he knows how to draw effort out of kids. And that's the #2 most important aspect of coaching, just behind being a truly gifted offensive or defensive mind. Except at stopping the jet sweep And anything else that Wisconsin generally ran. And knowing how to draw out effort is still questionable in my mind.
  13. I learned that mike riley has a big ol set of clangers. Guy doesn't hesitate on 4th and short... hasn't all season.
  14. I do not post much on here - mostly when I drink too much after a game day (sorry moderators). I am a younger guy, so the ways of the world (past, present and future) are always being shaped in my mind as I try to learn more. I do have some black cousins, black friends etc... and I also know that I am a privileged white male that does not see everything through the right lens all the time - I'm not perfect. But I know that these issues exist, I know that there are problems, and at the same time I know that people can generally express themselves however they want. I don't agree with aspects of the anthem protests or BLM movement (I am an ALM kind of guy), but I also admit I do not have intimate knowledge about either - just a clouded opinion. What I think I know is that these movements are working - positive or negative - people are talking about it. In the PR world that is generally viewed as a win - being at the forefront of the general public's thought. Hopefully more tangible things are done soon, more steps taken to actually do something after this momentum has been created from these expressions of free speech. You have people talking, you are on the public's mind, now what is your ask? Get people to act on them, ask them for something, or nothing will change. Heaven forbid you have started all of this and something tragic happens in the landscape of America (which, lets face it, seems to be at least every 6 months or so) and you will have to try and re-capture the fickle media fed minds across the country. Regardless of any of that, I live in Florida now, which means I should generally never be embarrassed about anything given what people are like here... but for the first time this week - after hearing some of the things that 'leaders' said from our state - I was pretty embarrassed to be associated with Nebraska. It will forever be my home, I know that the majority are good, and I still have a deep love for it - but it feels like a large black eye. Just my unwanted two cents on all of this.
  15. My friend committed to iowa... should I go there... or should I even go to a d1 school? I mean. .. north Dakota state looked pretty good... maybe if I go to iowa I can help them beat a team that isn't even competing for the same things as all the big schools. Give me a break.
  16. Why wouldn't he be able to follow a couple yards behind everyone?
  17. I expect it to be a close game... but I figured that before they played a team that was overrated, can't pass, and is going to get their coach fired bc of inconsistency (trademark miles team)
  18. Alabama - Number 1 Team and Saban can suck it. Notre Dame - BC I get tired of hearing how relevant they are despite having done less in the last 30 years then Nebraska. USC - BC we have never beaten them. Runner Ups: Texas - BC I hate them. K State - BC Bill Snyder needs to shut his mouth.
  19. Sam Cotton, Armstrong rolls out to the right and hits him after he peels off a block.
  20. Wow, I think you're a little dilusional about how Nebraska is viewed outside of the state. I Iive in Michigan. And I can tell you everyone I know and meet think of Nebraska as a has been. Honestly we are not really taken seriously anymore by most big 10 fans I encounter. We do have tradition, but that's about it anymore. We need to regain a lot of respect, and we surely are not why the big ten has been revitalized. That would be the accomplishments of Ohio state and MSU, (and the hiring of harbaugh to a degree). We have some work to do. How often do you get, "Nebraska? They were goo in the 90's, right?"I, too, live outside of Neb. and No one thinks of Nebraska as a top tier program here. Back to the main topic; We don't deserve any blame, unless you are a Tex. fan; even then, there is so much blame you can place on us, considering everything UT was trying to get done in there best interest, completely disregarding the state of the Big 12 or the complications their actions could cause. I hear it a lot. Also hear about how the only reason we split the title in 97 was because tom was retiring and it was a parting gift from the other coaches. I've had that discussion so many times it makes me sickto even bring it up here. However, back tithe point, you're correct we are not seen as a top program anymore. Despite what we want to believe. Hopefully that will start to correct this year. If someone thinks that we did not deserve any part of the 97 title I immediately discredit their college football knowledge and view them as a troll. Just saying. There are other programs that people consider elite that have not had much success the past 30 years. People consider Notre Dame an elite program and what have they done the last 30 years besides get whacked in the Championship in 2012? I would say in the bigger scheme of college football, we have about 10 years, and if we do not make it to the playoffs or play/win a National Championship, then I would say we have fallen out of the 'great program' category. If in ten years we win a Championship, then we are on pace historically, as an average, as far as championships go. The ebbs and flows of historical greatness do not come without peaks and valleys.... its simply a matter of perspective on how long you think the valleys should go on before you peak again that I would say some people have trouble seeing. Also, Texas can suck a fat one they are the worst.
  21. If it were up to me, you couldn't pay me enough to go back to what the Big 12 is now - especially in football. WVU... KState... IA State... Kansas. NAW. I will say though... I feel like if we were... WVU would probably be one of those teams that gives us fits. Just a fleeting thought. Hard Pass.
