  1. Much obliged. I was on the dead wrong side of NU/NIU so hopefully the scales can get balanced.
  2. '88 VP debate held in Omaha, NE at the parking lot formerly known as the Civic Auditorium. I remember my grandfather telling me about going to the speech and telling me, "I might have finally found a guy to write in for president instead of Eisenhower". It was a lie, he still wrote in Ike that year.
  3. I was able to snag U 49.5. Seeing how it's at 46.5/47 now makes me feel warm and tingly inside.
  4. The younger fan base i.e. millennials are changing jobs every 2-3 years on their own. They keep moving until they find something they like and stick. I doubt they care much if Riley sticks around or not. As lots of other posters have alluded to, winning cures a whole lot of ills.
  5. His running style reminds me a lot of Gronk. Just kinda bounces off of dudes. How many 6'3 240ish guys do you know that are graceful runners outside of NFL RBs? Little harsh.
  6. CAPS LOCK FRIDAY + GBR=FRIDAY NIGHTS A GREAT NIGHT FOR FOOTBALL
  7. Like the unders quite a bit @ 49. I would expect the total to drop a fair bit. Bonus pick of SDSU -12 against NIU. NIU is going to get a lot of credit for beating Nebraska and SDSU looked really sub par playing in a monsoon against Air Force. I wouldn't be shocked to see SDSU win by 21+ they've got a stud RB in Penney and a nasty O-Line.
  8. Time to find out what NU did the week of the MSU night game from a few years ago and duplicate it exactly.
  9. That's a really good point. 10. 4-4 for me. PSU is genuinely terrifying right now. I'm having visions of '02 PSU/Nebraska. As another poster mentioned, Purdue is going to outscheme the beejesus out of Nebraska. Nebraska beats either Whisky or Iowa. Obvious L v. tOSU.
  11. Patterson really only switched to a full fledged spread a couple years ago when he hired Sonny Cumbie as OC a couple years ago. Patterson initially tried to carry over his offensive concepts that had served him well when TCU was in the MWC and they just didn't have quite enough firepower to keep up w/ Big XII offenses as they went 7-6 and 4-8 in his first 2 seasons. To his credit, he hired Cumbie and TCU took a huge step forward offensively. TCU I'm guessing recruits heavily in Texas and Texas high schools predominately run the spread. Ergo, you better run the spread if you want a shot at the best kids in Texas.
  12. Well, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. No worries.
  13. I'm curious as to why you're down on Mullen? To say he's anything like Riley is a total insult to Mullen. Sure, Mullen's record is only a bit above .600 but he's doing that in the SEC West which is a total meat grinder. Mullen's track record at developing QBs is off the charts.
  14. Niumatalolo is never ever ever coming to Nebraska. He had a shot to take the BYU job (KN is a member of the LDS Church) and passed. If he's passing on BYU when he also would have the chance to coach his son, he's not coming to NU.
  15. The fans will stick through this team through thick and thin. Really solid fan support. This Benny Hill level offense is going to cost the defensive staff their jobs and that is disappointing.
  16. That's why God invented gambling!
  17. Yeah I can see it either way. Guess we'll see what happens.
  18. Gimme the grizzled d coordinator. Wally Rig.
  19. No ridicule here. Just not the right forum. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/forum/159-other-sports/
  20. I agree with you that Stoops seems highly unlikely. Now, I do think Kelly is possible if you throw enough money at him. He's as close to a known quantity as it gets. Is he aloof? You bet. Is it possible he leaves in a few years to go become a 6 man high school football coach in Alaska? Absolutely. In the interim, he's going to win, and he's going to win a lot. And when Chip Kelly is here winning big, everyone's favorite native son is down @ UCF (or another destination) still working on bolstering his resume. People have clamored that Nebraska needs to hire Frost now otherwise NU will lose the chance to hire him. That's absurd. If Nebraska shows they're willing to back up the truck for someone like Chip Kelly, you're trying to tell me they won't back up the truck for Scott Frost?
