  1. The team was really hamstrung with terrible QB play. They rolled out Emory Jones (Florida transfer) before making the switch to Bourguet who is a local Arizona kid. Bourguet had a couple of nice games but he's the epitome of a solid backup/low end starter. They wisely leaned on Valladay quite a bit who was a 1000 yard rusher at Wyoming and had a nice season for Arizona State. They were a pretty bad team in 2022, they could sneak up on you at home (I remember they beat Washington in a higher scoring game in Tempe) but if you didn't overlook them, you most likely won by 2 TDs+
  2. I'll be interested to see who they end up getting. I'm guessing a NFL retread of some type, like Ken Norton Jr, maybe Mike Zimmer. Kelley leaving CU is actually a good thing for them because he STINKS
  3. Really, really good. If you know anything about the Von Erichs you know their story is really tragic and the movie does a good job of navigating it without being super emotionally manipulative. Zac Efron was incredible and the rest of the cast was really good as well.
  4. Alright, thoughts from the dual. I agree with everyone else that it was a subpar night. Nebraska looked gassed out there while Iowa was very crisp. 125--Ayala completely dominated. Smith seemed to be able to get to his setups and he had an underhook a few times but he generated zero offense out there. 133--Best performance of the night IMO. Van Dee wrestled outstanding. Great mat awareness, great pace. Just a terrific showing. 141--I don't if Woods is just levels above Hardy or if Woods is just a bad matchup for him. Woods seems to have completely figured out Hardy's funk and unless Hardy can completely change things up, tonight's result is going to be par for the course. For the record, I hate Hardy's style where he lets everyone into his legs and just is able to gumby. 149--Was honestly hoping for bonus out of Ridge. Iowa guy was clearly not going to do anything and I thought Ridge played with his food too much. 157--No real notes, just 2 high level dudes going at it and Franek was a little bit better. Pure toss up match. 165--This was a pretty good 'there are levels to this' match. Caliendo is every single bit of 165 and you can tell Antrell is a little bit undersized (although he looks great out there). Caliendo is just really tough. Good effort out of Taylor and he did a nice job of not getting majored there at the end. 174--Good fight out of Bubba, I think Kennedy is just better and we saw that tonight. 184--Pinto so weird man, he's a mutant athlete, so explosive, so strong. He's got NCAA champ upside but the gas tank isn't quite there and he weirdly has bad mat awareness at times. He looked really close to getting taken down there and losing the MD. Now, I could be wrong and he's just so freaking strong that he knew exactly where he was at and felt he wasn't in any danger. 197--Man, this was bad. Allred looks terrible out there. It's shocking to see him this year versus last year, he's gotta be banged up. HWT--Fun match, as others have mentioned, Nash was gassed out in the 2p. He kept pretty good positioning throughout the match and had a couple good attacks. He's going to be a problem going forward once he gets his sea legs just due to his size and strength. He'll get torched by the top end guys, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him make the NCAAs.
  5. Well done, well done. You beat me to it haha. I was coming here to do the same thing.
  6. I believe he'll be a Soph this coming year? Could be totally wrong, going off of memory.
  7. That Citrus Bowl game against GT was brutal. They kicked Nebraska's butt up and down the field that day.
  8. Dual is next Friday 1/12 at 630p. Assuming Nebraska doesn't have any injuries, they have a very real chance at beating Iowa for the first time in a while.
  9. Maryland QB Tagovaiola in the portal. Would need a waiver for 2024. https://247sports.com/Article/maryland-star-qb-taulia-tagovailoa-enters-transfer-portal-224673596/
  10. Quinshon Judkins, Ole Miss's stud RB is in the portal. He's going to have a list of suitors a mile long but he'd be a heckuva pickup. https://olemisssports.com/sports/football/roster/quinshon-judkins/4500
  11. In the CFP era? Most definitely. In the CFP/BCS era? Maybe? In looking at the games, and the only game I could see where both teams might not be in the top 10 recruiting rankings-wise is Oregon and Auburn. Oregon for sure wouldn't have been in the top 10 because they were just getting cranked up under Chip Kelly. Auburn *might have* with Cam Newton and Michael Dyer who were both 5 stars IIRC plus they had some other talented kids coming in that year.
  12. /thread The chart is fair, unflinching and just. CHART, CHART, CHART!
  13. I didn't have much of a problem there as that play is so fluky (and honestly a dumb rule--injuring your opponents should not afford you the ability to stop the clock). I had a way bigger problem with the previous drive when UW could've milked more time off the clock, both in running the play clock down to 1 before snapping and the 3rd down pass call that allowed Texas to save a TO.
  14. Bummed to see him go, really talented kid, just couldn't put on enough weight to contribute at this level. I hope he lands on his feet and excels at his next stop.
  15. No kiddin? He's gonna give it a go at HWT? Dang, Polar Bear would've had to cut a little bit!
  16. I'm assuming we all listen to the same Husker related ones. CFB--Split Zone Duo, one of the rare podcasts I actually pay money for. Their off season/coaching carousel stuff is almost better than their in-season news. Cover 3 Podcast Gambling--Bet The Board and Bet The Process Movies/TV--Rewatchables, The Watch, Prestige TV Podcast, Blank Check News--Wall Street Journal Various Pods Misc--Money Guy Show
  17. Yep, spot on, 2022: 42/636/9--Had Sam Hartman at QB who is a darn good college QB 2023: 59/653/4--WF had a big step back with Griffis at QB, probably the reason Banks is in the portal. Banks would be an awesome pickup for NU, he's that big body 50/50 ball winner with good speed to boot WR that Nebraska has lacked for a while. Basically, Banks is what we all hoped Omar Manning would be.
  18. Nice seeing Nebraska as #1 in the non Death Star division in Big Ten recruiting!
  19. I don't know what to think on Allred moving up. I'm not sure it was really a duck because Sloan has beaten him a few times. Sloan is just a terrible matchup for him. Also, the dual was already in hand so it wasn't a move up to secure the win thing. Your guess is as good as mine!
  20. Yep, you are correct there. It's just annoying to me that the media is always onto the next thing when the football team has consistently proven that it's largely incapable of success. It's definitely a 'me' problem for sure.
  21. https://omaha.com/sports/huskers/football/shatel-dylan-raiola-committing-to-nebraska-feels-a-lot-like-tommie-fraziers-arrival/article_3bf59430-40af-54bb-828d-68b8c7846166.html?mode=comments Holy Eggs Benedict Batman. Man, Shatel just can't help himself can he? I've found myself more and more annoyed by him over the years and can't stand him on the OWH podcast. When Nebraska was 5-3 the talk was, "Hey this team has a shot to win the West" versus the appropriate talk which would've been, hey let's see them get bowl eligible and then we're playing with house money. I blame the local media quite a bit when it comes to this stuff even though I understand they need to sell the hype to generate clicks and subscriptions.
  22. When people see Decked wear grey sweatpants out in public, they cross the street.
  23. You put some respect on the Hefty Lefty! RIP
  24. Would love DeQuan Finn as a bridge QB. He did a great job at Toledo. I, too, was hoping Nebraska might get some run with him.
