I've deliberately been holding off on watching Succession until the season wrapped up so I could blow through the season in a week. Will report back once I've finished up.

I'm not sure if this tongue-in-cheek or not but I had some fun going down the rabbit hole for 15 minutes on Sports Reference to see if I could find the answer to this. It appears that no team has won a national title with a defense averaging 80+ plays. The closest I could find was 2003 USC whose defense averaged 76 plays/game. I was a little surprised to see that since USC under Carroll ran a pretty traditional pro style offense and not a nuclear hurry up. Granted, that USC team had some bona fide big plays studs in Bush, White, Mike Williams and Kerry Colbert.

That curveball was pure filth. Unfortunately his pitching after that was no laughing matter. KF was out there looking like a slow pitch softball pitcher. The Rangers were squaring up seemingly all his pitches. Need Marco to come up clutch to secure the bag and get the series dub. Thursday's Astros game pits Paxton against Verlander which will be awesome. More awesome is the game is at Houston so I'll actually be able to watch more than a few innings before falling asleep on my couch!

Feels a little strange that tonight might be one of the last times I see Felix Hernandez as a starting pitcher for the Mariners. I still remember him coming up as a 19 year old wunderkind in '05. While it's highly unlikely he would pitch in the postseason should the Ms make it to the divisional round, I hope he gets a chance to experience it.

Bet DSI has Nebraska still with a win total of 5.5 -105 which is a full game lower than a lot of other books. That is absolutely nuts to me. May have to load up big time for a possible delicious middle opportunity.

Ugh, this is just so gross. Toronto stinks! C'mon Ms, get it together. Goodness gracious the offense outside of Nelson Cruz absolutely stinks right now. Cano coming back will obviously help things but it's unfair to expect he's going to come in and immediately light it up. The Ms have a critical 10 game road trip coming up at Texas' launching pad, Houston and Oakland.

I personally would like to see one guy win the job and run with it fwiw as well. Especially given the fact that whoever wins the job will conceivably be the starter for the next couple seasons and you'd like to get as many 'growing pains' out of the way.

It would be really fascinating if Vedral becomes eligible immediately. NU could in theory rotate all 3 guys to see if someone separates or try and play each guy 4ish games each to maintain redshirts.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall if Smith was ever charged/convicted for any of his domestic violence instances. If he wasn't ever charged, those things wouldn't show up on a background check.

It'll be really interesting to see what happens with the assistant coaches. If they stick with Urban there's a good chance none of those guys coach again (or at least they're on the shelf for a while). Sure, Meyer, Schiano and Wilson are fine financially so if they get a scarlet letter they can survive. The other guys on the staff? I'm not sure...the urge to protect one's own skin is a strong one.
