  1. I'd be stunned if Chuckie came back to Nebraska. Creighton has no room, unless they lose some people and Lincoln doesn't seem to be high on his list. He, and his family, were not happy with how he was treated when he was last in Lincoln.
  2. I'm fortunate my coach knew me and saw me in games. I was average to probably below average in practice. I could barely run a lap without gasping for air, finished dead last in sprints, doing drills, there was nothing about me that stood out. Come the game, no one could run past me, I was able to chase everyone down. We would play 2-3 games on Saturdays, and was typically in the top 2-3 people playing in terms of skills. I would play every minute and at the end of third game still be playing like it was the first ten minutes of the first game and then still go home and play pick up games with my friends. I was the poster boy for a gamer. I tried, I gave my absolute best effort in every practice, but I had a different gear and mindset in games that I couldn't access during practice, and I have always wondered why that was.
  3. I'm assuming you are reading this Lavonte, COME TO PHILLY!!
  4. As a Bellevue kid, and my daughters as Bellevue kids (one in Danny's class) I 100% support them getting out, and wish I would have.
  5. God help us all if that does indeed happen.
  6. I mean if you watch Fox News, it's probably A LOT

I'm just glad he did, so the Lakers didn't fall on that sword. Love what the Lakers were able to receive after yeeting out Russ. Now if they could figure out a way to stay off the IR, it would be even better.
  8. Luka, Ja (if his crew doesn't get him in trouble), SGA is special and overlooked. And the bit I've watched of Wembanyama, he's going to be special.
  9. Yes, who was eventually defeated by the Force...aka Showtime Lakers.
  10. The only thing to ever slow down Larry Bird was his back. the hick was amazing. too bad he played for emperor palpatine
  11. It's a great list, and you're right @Guy Chamberlinso many great players that deserve to be in the top 10. I mean you picked 4 amazing forwards for your teams, and I could make the argument you left off the two best in Karl Malone and Kevin Garnett. A comment I made to a friend yesterday when discussing all-time starting 5 and I put LBJ ahead of Magic. I'm a Lakers homer, and Magic is a Laker through and through, whereas James is just a rental and look forward to when he's gone. That said, skill set wise, there is not one skill that I would say Magic is better than James, and there are areas where I think James is better than Magic. Magic is why I fell in love the with the Lakers and have been a diehard fan for over 40 years, but I would take James over him and not even think twice about it. LBJ doesn't make my Lakers Mt Rushmore, but makes my starting 5 over Magic. And I know I'm leaving off so many that deserve to be in the list as well. Leaving Shaq off sees bad, and he's such a freak, but skill wise he's average, he's just a brute. My all-time starting 5 is: LBJ MJ Kobe Malone Cap B team Magic Steph Larry Bird KG Russell
  12. Outside 10? Interesting. Who is in your top 10?

His team was going to lose either way. I'm a huge Lakers fan, and this team is just a hot mess. Buss and Pelinka have put a team together that doesn't work. It's just a bad product.

Kyrie has been a cancer everywhere he's been. I think him and Luka will be oil and water. And found it interesting that as soon as he was traded, he deleted his apology on IG for promoting hate speech. He's got all the talent in the world, he's intelligent, but he's a headcase and destroys every team he's been on.
  15. SMU won't draw interest, but does expand the TV market for the conference. They now can get into TX, which will be big in terms of media rights.
  16. Wonder how far the Big XII will tumble when Texas and Oklahoma leave. I can't envision the remaining schools being big spenders in NIL
  17. Don't know if it has been mentioned, but Poker Face on Apple+ has been fun. I'm 3 episodes in and enjoy it.

The scheduled rest day is one of my fears coming up. Being in Nebraska, and a Lakers fan, it's hard to go to a game. I've scheduled a trip to Chicago to watch them, and I'll be really disappointed if they (either team) rests some of their stars.

Yes, that is still a thing. As an example, OKC is playing Golden St tonight and playing LA Lakers tomorrow. Tomorrow's game tickets are going for upwards of $75,000 to potentially see LBJ get the all-time scoring record.
  20. Was it the songs Mamba #1 - #4? I always wondered what happened to those songs.
  21. If they do this, they might as well just switch to 7v7 flag. The roughing the passer penalty is already a disgrace, doing this will just make it damn near impossible to play defense.

Lakers dodge a bullet. Weird fit for him in Dallas.

Weird...Kyrie demands a trade again. Who saw that coming? I really hope he goes to Golden St.
  24. I just got a reply from my friend who works in compliance for a major university. He said, it's still a few years down the road, but the tentative plan from the NCAA is to say how many can be on a team. The numbers he mentioned were for D1 football they are looking at 125, basketball 20, he didn't mention any other sport. And then with that, each school can then decide how many scholarships they will give out. They can give full rides to all or half or none, and then mix in partial scholarships as well. It'll be the discretion of the school as to how to allocate scholarships, but there will be a roster maximum for all sports. And when giving out scholarships, the only numbers they will have to worry about are Title IX ratios. He says this is a lot closer to reality then unlimited coaching spots, but both are still years away. The reason coaching is farther away, is because of lawsuits and the NCAA wants to focus on getting money/awards to the athletes and not focus on getting more coaches paid.
