  1. Well, let's see if we are stocked at lineman. Not trying to play gotcha just trying to provide some insight. Seniors- Gaylord, Jameis Farniok, Wilson- 4 Juniors- Sichterman, Bando, Trent Hixon(should renew his scholarship)- 3 Sophomores- Cam Jurgens, Nouili*( will get a scholarship imo) W Farniok, E. Miller*(if he is on scholarship)- 4* Redshirt Freshman- Anderson, Lynn, Banks, Benhart, Piper, Fritzsche- 6 Freshman- Conn, Corcoran- 2 2021 Class- Yager, Lutovsky, Prochazka-3 Possible commits- Mbow, VanDeMark-possibly take 1 So even without 2021 we are at 19. Nouili has a scholarship waiting for him and Miller is too good to not get one anytime soon. In total my numbers are at 19. Without Nouili and Miller we are at 17. We are exactly where we need to be in terms of lineman as you need a three deep plus a few more for development. This is not counting a few walk-ons who will provide solid depth as well. I would argue we are on the brink of being overstocked, but we can't just throw out many more scholarships to lineman. Other spots need to have good depth as well. In my view, we are pretty full but that is just my take on things as other positions need help- such as linebacker. *Pending scholarship as we are under and can give a few away.
  2. So are we moving on from him? It seems like he wants N and we could possibly take on more at O line depending on which guys decide to call it quits this year.
  3. For OL I would say Spencer Long was a hit. He had an injury midway through his senior year, but he was arguably the best olineman we have had since 2010. He was our last All Conference offensive lineman.
  4. Read somewhere that he applied for a couple jobs around Lincoln and didn't get them. He probably doesn't have much to go home to sadly and probably is training around Lincoln where people will let him train in certain facilities for free I would assume. Outside of that, this is very sad as I thought Nebraska had the opportunity to turn his life around. He is just one of those kids who if they do not meet you in the middle, there is not much that can be done and we parted ways. He has all the talent in the world and I hope they find him and he gets the help he needs.
  5. Peru would be an insult to injury for them, but they would get money that they need. UNK would probably just forfeit and take the money or just not come out after warm-ups.
  6. If true, SDSU would probably be the only OOC game we play. Since they are so close to us. Also, in state rivalries would continue for those who are in different conferences- Utah-BYU, Iowa-Iowa State etc.
  7. From what I have seen, Thrower may be a Kentucky lean as of now. Things can change and we are still in on him. I would welcome Wynden in a heartbeat and he has nice size to play OLB or ILB. We getting a HAUL at linebacker this cycle.
  8. What I have seen so far for this recruiting class. These are my takes on top prospects/guys we should go after. Feel free to add to the discussion as recruiting is fluid and I easily could have overlooked someone. Top prospect are listed First and after that you can move them around on who is next. Offense Overall #1 Thomas Fidone QB- we got our guy and we would welcome a PWO to the guy in Alabama. If not, we are done at this position. Prospect we are after: Jackson Burkhalter RB- We have depth and can be selective here. I believe we take one True RB and one Duck R type guy. Unsure on the Prospects so this is more of a guess: Cornelius Shaw, Gabe Ervin. TE- We need two for this class after electing to take 0 last cycle. Prospects Toward the Top of the Board: Thomas Fidone, Erik Olson, Gunnar Helm OL- We are sitting well here and they only need to take one more to fill the class Top Prospects: Marcus Mbow, Geno VanDeMark WR- It is time to get some big boys in this receiver room. I like where they are heading with bigger dudes. Expect three to four this cycle. Top Prospects: Latrell Neville, Christian Dixon, Jaylon Griffin, Carlton Guidry Defense Overall #1- Tobechi Okoli DL- We have good numbers here. We will look to take a true nose and two ends to add some depth to this position. We will take 3 D-Lineman Top Prospects- Tobechi Okoli, Tim Keenan, Michale Mokofiski, Mandela Tobin, Ru'Quan Buckley, ILB- We are looking for one more here. The good news is we can be selective on who to take. Top Prospects: Deshawun Alleyne, Martez Thrower, Mikai Gibnor OLB- We have a solid list of prospects so far. I expect us to take on more and be done. Terrence Lewis would be first but not going to put him on here unless I see him de-commit. Top Prospects: Deshawun Alleyne( could play either spot)Christian Burkhalter, Patrick Hisatake, Mikai Gibnor( not sure where we want him that is why he is on here twice) Logan Fano. CB- We lose some experience after this year so it will be good to take one corner on each side. Might only take one. Top Prospects- Tommi Hill, Malik Williams, Jamier Johnson S- I think two safeties will be enough for this cycle. I think Buford takes one of these spots if he wanted it. Sirad Bryant, Bryce Stevens, New Zealand Williams ATH- Marques Buford is the only athlete I see us in on. I believe he will play in the secondary for us. This puts us in the 24-25 ish range on prospects. I expect some attrition and could see this class being almost full.
  9. I would definitely like us to get involved here. We have a good connection but I wonder how much ground we have to make up. I also stated in another thread that if we needed someone we could get Purdue Guard Nojel Eastern to provide some depth for us- if he can get his transcripts here.
  10. Wonder if this opens the door for Nojel Eastern? I think he played off the ball and since he can't go to Michigan I don't know of any B1G caliber player available besides him. 247 says he is a PG but I thought he played off the ball a lot of the time. There are still guys available but it will be important to fill the last roster spot with a quality player.
  11. If he was eligible this year he would have averaged double figures for us most likely.
  12. How I see it this year Starters LT Jameis *LG Wilson *C Jurgens *RG Farniok * RT Benhart 2nd String LT Brant Banks- LG Ethan Piper- C Will Farniok - RG Broc Bando- RT Christian Gaylord Noulii somewhere in 2nd string, could replace Bando but it will depend on his eligibility status. A couple things to go with this 1. I do not see Wilson being a backup with those amount of starts. Ethan Piper could be really good but I haven't seen enough to unseat him just yet. 2.Trent Hixon might not play much this year. I think the younger guys will just be better. I remember one game last year he got thrown to the ground. One play doesn't define him and I hope he improves and proves me wrong. 3. We will replace a lot of starters next year but the amount of depth and talent on the line excites me more than anything. We legit could have a multitude of dudes available to rotate in. 4. I hope Gaylord is healthy enough for a senior day start. If Benhart struggles I could see Gaylord rotate in on occasion while Austin coaches him up on the sideline. 5. I like our numbers on the o-line and it will be fun to watch these guys grow and complete for starting spots down the road.
  13. I mean it just shows he is excited to get an offer from Tennessee. No way will they have a spot for him unless most of their guys de-commit later in the fall. He may want to go to the SEC as those guys grow up hearing how great of a conference it is their whole life. Such is the life of recruiting as plans change but I am not counting him out until he officially says he is decommiting. This is part of the process and every school has people who change their mind to go elsewhere. Personally, I like his film and would love to have him add to a growing ILB room as he has good size.
  14. Mav you're a wizard! This is the guy I was talking about in a previous post. Wish we could have landed him but it looks like he will be staying on the coast.
  15. Any idea how good this guy was? Interesting that he stayed in the B1G West.
  16. Best transfer wide receiver on the market is now gone. He committed to Hawaii. https://247sports.com/Player/Rico-Bussey-80541/
  17. Question: This is going to be fairly vague so bear with me. I also can't remember if this recruit is 2021 or 2022. Does anyone know of an athlete we offered that had some Nebraska connections? His position might have potentially changed and if I am remembering right he was from somewhere in the Northwest. Thank you for whoever can find him because right now I can't do it searching through threads.
  18. Looks like Saint Thomas might be turning into doubting Thomas. So far he has no offer.
  19. This shows he does not want to be a backup to Sallis. I know nothing but this might mean we are sitting well with him right now. Does not mean we lead but Sallis is obviously the #1 on our board.
  20. I don't think TT will be gone as he has only had one class. Honestly, it was Juco heavy but we need all we can get right now. TT needs to show something for sure and I think his specialty is development. What we need for this cycle is a developmental guy, a true nose that can develop and a stud- preferably a four star. So I do not agree he is near the hot seat as he has again had one full cycle. D-line is very young so we may only take 3 at maximum this year. You have every right to believe he may be gone but the DLine showed something last year and if it improves I don't see how they even think of firing him. His 2022 class is where if he misses badly on I will get worried. Also, Dawson can get someone from the Northeast every year which would possibly allow TT to focus on a few targets. He is no Hank Hughes.
  21. I am not opposed to police reform at all. As long as the government does not control the police, we should be fine as citizens. However, my worry is that if this reform gets directed toward the bad cops and the good cops end up quitting/leaving. I am not saying that would happen it is just a worry of mine. I also consider myself a cop apologist, but I obviously do not overlook the fact that police have killed people. I put out the stats earlier that said 1099 people were killed by cops in 2019. Police departments need to reflect on their practices and see ways they can better train and get the officers to not use force on unarmed people. I believe you said it earlier Knapp that you could not imagine people wanting to be officers. My fear is that the good people who want to be officers will instead choose other professions and more bad officers would be hired. They have to hire somebody to do the job and so it makes it easier to potentially get hired down the road as a cop. And I agree that the good cops need our support now.
  22. Thought I read somewhere of some places not taking police because they were overqualified. I think they did this to move these people into detective work or higher than an officer. I would say 98 percent or so of cops are good. The less than 2 percent of bad police bring the attention to them all. Even if they do not fire the bad 2 percent, which they should, at least give them a job where they don't leave the station at all. Or discipline them in some way so they are held accountable for their actions. I have no problem with them training and trying to prevent violence against civilians. I think being a police officer can be difficult because so many people challenge your authority etc. Any cop that kills an unarmed civilian should lose their badge and cause the department to investigate and explain and educate the consequences of this to other officers. In 2019, 1099 people were killed by officers and 24 percent of them were black. Those numbers need to decrease in all categories as our protectors should not kill that many civilians.
  23. The word is he wants to stay near home. UNC had a bad year for the first time in a long time. So there could be some intrigue with early playing time. In my opinion, the Kansas offer is what worries me. They are not very far from Omaha and they have such a good program. We need him, but like EC said does he go to KU and sit for two years or got to Nebraska where he will play immediately.
  24. Did Tannor play in more than 4 games as a freshman? Nice find and thanks for sharing!
  25. Nebraska needs to run a faster tempo on offense. It has not been as fast as I would have thought by this time. Unpopular opinion: Chinander is going to be a good coach. He has to get with the B1G systems but he will adjust well with more depth and familiarity. The system is ran to score a lot and so we will see teams gain lots of yards. Scoring by opponents will also be down and the linebackers will improve a lot this year.
