  1. About 5 years ago my family and I were sitting in a diner in Central City, NE and my dad goes "You'll never guess who's sitting right behind you." I turn around casually and low and behold, it's TO, Nancy, and another man. We didn't say anything to them, not wanting to interrupt their meal, but as they got up to leave Nancy made a comment to us about having to drive because women drivers are more safe or something (it was snowy out). We got a good laugh out of it and they went on their way. Another story about the one and only TO. I was born with a collapsed lung and was in one of the hospitals in Lincoln. I think it was St. Elizabeth, but my family ended up riding the elevator with Tom. They got to talking somehow and he said something to the effect of "Well I hope everything turns out okay." I love that man and his healing powers.

      10 minutes to Archer!

  3. This has been a very poorly officiated game, regardless of the outcome.
  4. Agreed. The one on Chester Taylor was pretty ticky tack compared to some of the stuff that has been going on every play by both teams. And how do they not overturn that last interception? Even Mike Pereira said he thought it was incomplete. It would have been nice to get into possible field goal range there. I'm afraid the Bears are going to have to start blitzing a lot. Like Rodgers needs any more room to throw. Ugh. Here's to a completely new team in the 2nd half.
  5. The Bears have greatly exceeded my expectations for this season. Win or lose, it has been an awesome year. That said, if they lose today, it's gonna sting. A lot.

  6. Heart attack. That's shocking and sad. RIP Gaines Adams. RIP I would have loved to see what Gaines would have been capable of this season playing opposite of Julius Peppers. I remember when the Bears originally traded for him last season, Marinelli thought he'd be able to "turn him around." There's no doubt in my mind he would have been a very solid player for them this season...at the very least coming on the field to pass rush on 3rd down. RIP
  7. Congrats to Miss Nebraska for winning Miss America.

  9. This board is amazing! I've been a member since '05 and it only gets better every year. I've read many other Nebraska sports message boards, but this one is WAY better than any of the other ones, plus it's free. Like others have said, I wouldn't say I've "learned" a whole lot (I read the media guides over Dr. Seuss books as a kid), but it's just a great one stop location for all things Husker related and beyond. I guess you could say the part of the board that I "learn" the most from is the recruiting forum. The main posters in there are 2nd to none in providing any and all information you would want about a recruit. Similar to the OP, I'm the guy in my family/friend circle that is considered the Husker "expert." Whether it's breaking news post or just a feel-good story someone posted about one of our players, I'll usually tell at least one person about it. Like I said, I've been around the board a fairly long time now. I really don't post very often (seems like everything I want to say has usually already been said), but I check the board at least once a day if not more. Not only is it great for Husker sports, but if you have a question about ANYTHING, chances are someone here will be able to answer it. I love this place!
  10. In my opinion, DTsker has made some of the best videos on YouTube. I wish he would make some new ones for the Pelini era. I thought he used to post a bit on this board, but I haven't seen him in a long while.

  12. Do we have another Rex Ryan foot video on the way starring Nick Folk?

  13. Sade misses extra point

  14. I thought he did too...turns out they brought in Kessler for that play after Starling had played the previous 2.
  15. I think this guy makes some good points about the article itself. I'm guessing many similar things have been said in this thread, but I thought I'd post anyways (even though it's Bleacher Report).
  16. Looks like it'll be on espn3.com.
  17. Finally the Vikings do something cool and give the Bears a first round bye! Regardless of the outcome on Sunday, this has been a great year. Greatly exceeded my expectations. I'm still not sold on the Bears being a possible Super Bowl team. I honestly don't think they'll win their first playoff game. I think their defense is slightly overrated, however the offense has been playing well as of late. I just think if we face a pass-heavy team (like the Pats) we're done. But they've been proving me wrong all year, so here's to them doing it again.
  18. "Bears still suck" chant from the Pack fans? Really? Next week will be a good one.

Meh. We've already got a first-round bye and the division locked up. I'll bet we rest a lot of guys next week.

I wouldnt say we have the bye locked up. Eagles are dangerous.

But yes, next week will be fun.

      Also 20-17

The Packers are the Bears main rival. You'd think they'd sit guys out but it won't happen. Can almost guarantee it. It's actually one of the main goals of the year besides winning the division...beating the Packers believe it or not. Lovie has publicly stated this.

  19. Dude. Chicago Bears garden gnome and Chicago Bears Mr. Potato Head for Christmas. YES!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. He is the only Patriot I will ever root for consistently. Let's hope him and his teammates put a hurting on the Pack tonight and help send the Bears to the playoffs.
  21. That was nuts! I enjoy watching Coughlin freak out on the sideline when his team starts choking it away. Vick's sack avoidance still continues to amaze me. DeSean Jackson is the cockiest dude ever, but when you do something like that I guess you get to be. I still can't believe the Eagles pulled that one out. Great game! Well, 4th quarter anyways.
  22. Gotta love watching Tom Coughlin in panic mode.
