  1. I didn't do any better fellas, 0-3 this week. I didn't really like any of the games either but wasn't terribly uncomfortable with being forced to pick 3. Figured 1 or 2 would end up okay. Shows ya what I know. 9-6 overall, +$240
  2. This is so wrong I don't have the words. All this shows is your complete lack of understanding about Pro life. While I'm sure there are those who are simply anti-abortion, the heart of the efforts involves all of the things you just flatly denied. The Catholic churchs I regularly go to are constantly asking for donations and volunteers for the Pregnancy Resource center, aid for unwed mothers, teen sex education, etc. Most reasonable people realize there is more involved than just being anti-abortion. Seems we always have a baby bottle in our house to collect our change for the Pregnancy Resource center. I do disagree with the church on the use of contraceptives and wish they would change their stance on that. But you need to quit spreading falsehoods about a movement that you apparently have little knowledge of. You're using only anecdotal evidence, although zoogs hasn't used any yet. My anecdotal evidence is any time I hear about people being against sex education it's from Christians who say it's as easy as telling kids "don't have sex," which is a completely unreasonable solution. It's also Christians who are generally against letting gays adopt kids, which might help with the situation. For the record I'm Christian and pro-life but I disagree with the Republican platform about every other thing related to sex and pregnancy and poverty and children. How is pointing out that many Pro life people, groups and churchs do much more than simply being against abortion only providing anecdotal evidence? Nobody has to settle for only my word on it. It's a fact and can be verified. I agree that many Christians don't consider the surrounding issues and only offer up simplistic half solutions like "just abstain" or "outlaw abortion" but it is false to flat out claim that Pro life does not do more than that.

Was about to post something like this. Just awful.

Was in a 10-7 game last night in HS and you really learn to love good defense. Can't stand offense only anymore. Part of it is my disgust of watching it every week with Oregon too....

We (I anyway) have complained about Banker D and even Bo's run defense but damn, compared to much of CFB defense....it's like there is no thought about it at all.

Bend but don't break (or don't break too often), or stopping only the run OR the pass (like it has to be one or the other)? Screw that. I say crush the other team with aggressive defense and you'll always be in the hunt.

  5. Agreed, boomer sooner is way over played. Unfortunately, I think our very own Cornhusker band over plays our song too. I find it annoying when they do it when nothing good has just happened. Seems they do it every 5 minutes regardless (so about a 30% as much as OU).
  6. Agreed. I went to a game there back in 90's (I think when Frost was playing, might have been Crouch...I'm getting old and can't remember sh#t) and my ears literally hurt from the noise and most of it was that damn siren. Little side story- Went out there with a bunch of brother in laws. Of course like good Husker fans we spotted up at a bar close to the stadium by about 9:00 in the morning and commenced to drinking. The place basically filled up with Husker fans before 10. Well here come all the Huskie fans about 11:00 to 11:30.... Never seen so many people look so distraught and clueless as to where to go next. Yeah it was some big Huskie hangout and we turned it red. No room for the regulars. Ha.
  7. The Applebee's is a pretty good place IMO you guise.

Oh, I wish I did huKSer. Wouldn't that be the life? Ownin' a Bee's and being in control of all those bold flavors. Prolly have to change the name to Bee's Out of Bounds Flavortown.

  8. JJ, I hope you help ensure a Trump loss in Colorado. It might be a pretty tight race there. 9 electoral votes, winner takes all. They're both low 40s, this is margin of error type stuff. I'm voting for Johnson, don't care what the repercussions are. I will NOT vote for Trump or Clinton.
  9. Found out last night that Trump is coming to Loveland Budweiser Events Center (about 10 miles from my house).....uhhhhm, no I won't be going. They said he is trying to "lock up" the tight race in Colorado. My first thought was, he would have a better chance if he stayed away and didn't open his mouth anymore. It still amazes me that people are treating this farce like it's a real presidential election race. What a joke.

  11. Just heard about this today for the first time. Seems very odd. Can't Saudi Arabia simply ignore being sued by individuals from another country? And what legal basis is there for them to be sued? I'm no lawyer but it seems like quite the stretch. But then again, many of our politicians are lawyers, stands to reason that this would seem like a reasonable course of action for them. Gotta love our lawsuit happy society. Seems to be the solution for everything anymore.
  12. Brown sugar cinnamon. Nuf said. This exact topic had a thread about 2 years ago. I'm too lazy to find it.
  13. No. If your kind can bring up boobs wherever they want I can bring ... um I can talk about penises! But they're really spectacular boobs, the best really, I was just saying the other day, now my opponent will say otherwise, I mean really though we're going to build that wall, but my opponent won't tell you that. Anyway they really are the best boobs, just ask anyone. We're going to make boobs great again. Help me.
  14. C'mon, be honest, you think about penises more than that. ;-) I didn't say that's the only time I think about penises. Ugh. That'd be terrible. LOL. You make a good point. Associating Trump with them at all has to be traumatizing enough.
  15. C'mon, be honest, you think about penises more than that. ;-)
  16. Do you want to go to a game in a 90,000 seat stadium with people who have not been screened? In today's world, really do you?
  17. Actually for me, it brings to mind the ZZ Top song, Jesus Just Left Chicago. No way he's coming back into this mess. If I was him I'D pack my bags and say screw it, you're on your own.
  18. I'm with decked. Nobody won and America loses.
  19. How about we just stop playing the National Anthem at all these sporting events? Keep it at the high school level and maybe a few of the big events like CFB championship game, Superbowl, world seris and call it good.

Being 5000 miles from home being shot at, has a tendency to change ones perspective and values. I however have stated before, and will say it again here, this event has caused me to think that MRI, by his kneeling, is really just expressing the rights he was afforded by those who served. Thus, it come full circle as almost a thank you for fighting for my freedoms, so I can do what I just did.

Appreciate your thoughts, as always, TAKODA. I enjoy our conversations even when we don't completely agree. On MRI, it feels like we're not so far apart. In protesting, they demonstrate more introspection for the anthem than most probably ever have.

  20. Remember when football and sports and normal politics and stuff was what we talked about? I kinda miss those days you guise.

  21. I don't get where people think this is too high. This week's polls are not a guess at where a team will end the season. They are simply the ranking now, at this point in time. As volatile as this season has been so far, I'll take the highest ranking we can obtain. Who knows what will happen should we lose a game. We need the highest ranking possible to help offset any potential downgrade if/when it comes to that. Plus, you can look at virtually any team in the top 25 and make a reasoned argument that they are either too high or too low. I think 15 is perfectly reasonable for a 4-0 team that has been playing pretty solid ball and showing signs of improving every week. And don't give me this "it could be a distraction" or "it might go to the players heads". If this team can't handle being ranked 15, then it will all get sorted out in the end anyway. Enjoy the rare air we have been deprived of for so long. Let's hope they keep taking care of business and making their way up the polls and then put it all together when the big games come around. We can have nice things too, Lord knows we're due.
  22. I don't think the debates will change much of anything. People who support either candidate are already being willingly ignorant or accepting of their favorites flaws. I can't see how it will make a difference for anybody who has been paying any attention so far. There may be some undecideds who pick a side based on the debates but I'm guessing just as many, or more, will choose to back off supporting either of these rotten candidates. I'll probably try to watch for the entertainment value but I hold no hopes of arriving at any eureka moment that will change my mind of never voting for either one. I'm finding Johnson to be a little flaky the more I learn about him but a little flaky is still light years ahead of the other two.
  23. 2-1 for week 4, 9-3 overall, +$570 Good thing you don't get penalized extra for being way off, that MSU pick....yeeesh.
  24. Tommy is making a believer out of me. I think he has really improved in some very important aspects this season. He isn't staring down receivers as much, he is doing some pump fakes which helps immensely and he can throw it away instead of forcing the ball into bad situations. Sure, he still does some of the bad things some of the time but overall vastly improved. And he still can throw some wtf passes and miss wide open receivers but he is playing very solid. And now that they are green lighting him more to run...Huge asset. We will miss him next year. This is the first game I felt like Langs called a really good game. I usually feel like "why did he totally abandon the run" when it seems to be working and I didn't get that tonight. Really good mix of plays tonight. I didn't have any feel for what play would be coming next. That has to be extremely tough on D coordinators and defenses.
