  1. +1. This really is all that needs to be said. /thread
  2. I would say that person was absolutely right. What has Nebraska done without Tom Osborne?
  3. I guess this is valid but considering how often we've come back from two score deficits over the last couple years I'm not sure how much of a concern it is. There have been times where we've come back from being down. But, there also have been times where Beck has paniced and contributed to some of our worst blowout losses. It's been a mixed bag. I guess I'm a little gun shy when it comes to playing Wiscy.
  4. And I'll be in the front row, hammered drunk, as 6 Lb. 8 oz. little baby Jesus leads the choir in a gospel rendition of Free Bird.
  5. Or possibly it shows how misguided the recall attempt was. Just sayin.
  6. Seems less cluttered and easier to navigate. Think I like it.
  7. Heck with 2nd, what would be their #1 MOST impressive win? I can't believe anyone considers their game against Nebraska particularly impressive since we delivered that W to them on a silver platter. I would have to say their hanging in with Oregon for part of a game is probably the most impressive thing they've done this year. And that is sad, really sad, maybe more sad than our lack of a 2nd most impressive win.
  8. I guess it is interesting to contemplate which way(s) would be better to die but, it really doesn't matter because I don't know too many people who get to choose how or when it happens. About the closest a person can come is deciding to forego life prolonging measures or being taken off of life support but they have likely already suffered for a good while at that point anyway. Unless Kevorkian is your doctor, most of us won't ever have a real choice in the matter. I'm not sure which way I feel would be best. I've experienced both ways with people close to me and they both pretty much suck. In the case where there is prolonged suffering from something such as cancer, I would have to say going quickly would be much better.
  9. Neither can we. We (the fans) can panic all we want. We aren't sending in plays from the sideline or playing in the game. What we do here, there, or anywhere is irrelevant.
  10. Miami #1 And I was impressed with FAU at the time. Seemed like we were fairly well prepared to play. Otherwise have been happy with the results but very disappointed with performance. Lots of things have been good in short stints, with various units, but rarely has everything clicked at the same time or for more than about 2 quarters.
  11. Keys to the game- 1- Turnovers 2- Field Position 3- Control line of scrimmage 4- 3rd Down Conversions (don't get stuck with 3rd and long) 5- Beck needs to not get too cutsie and not panic if we get down a score or two. If we win or do at least 3 of those 5 things we should be fine.
  12. If I ever have knee problems I'm going to forego the doctor and just consult you guys. Damn you guys know a lot about this.
  13. I just want this SOB over with so the bastages quit calling the house. I voted 3 days ago and didn't vote for one major party candidate. Of course I had no idea who the people were I did vote for a couple unaffiliated and a couple libertarians, but no R's and no D's. Udall and Gardner can both pound sand.
  14. I think you may have killed the thread...I even feel bad for thinking about it... I'll put myself in DB hall. *hits self in head numerous times* What in the world was I thinking?
  15. Rack of lamb on the barbie is soooo good, you guys.

Never liked the texture of lamb - bad cuts? I dunno but very tough and stringy

Lamb chops and/or rack of lamb is not tough or stringy. Some of the sirloin cuts etc. are though. Rack of lamb is like prime rib but much quicker and easier.

  16. Superchexx bubble hockey is at the top of the list for my man cave toys. Awesome game. Shuffleboard would be #2 but those things require some room.
  17. Hey now c'mon, still wanna see the write in names.
  18. How it works is Armstrong claps for the defensive ends, and they relay it to our lineman as they come across the line of scrimmage. And there it is folks, the theory and execution of our snap count in one concise summary. Perfect.
  19. Better than throwing it with a two touchdown lead in the fourth. Remember that time we ran it four consecutive plays right near the goal line, failed to score anything and injured our Heisman trophy candidate? But then, who doesn't wince every time Beck insists on running the ball? Ha! If you think I was praying for a pass in that situation you've got the wrong guy here. We did exactly what any team should and does do. I was thrilled we ran it four times. What was disappointing was: 1. No push by a Nebraska offensive line 2. Lined up in shotgun/pistol on goal line 3. Fumbled snap 4. No FB lead blocker 5. We didn't score. Lots to be proud of right there. LOL.
  20. I used to get pissed at TO for seemingly always running the option to the short side of the field. I later learned he did that because there were fewer defenders on that side of the field but, it still seemed a little counter productive.
  21. I tend to ignore drastic over reaction and exaggeration. There are some things that just don't warrant responding to. This wasn't one of those things.
  22. I'm often tempted to do a goofy write in but then it occurs to me the extra time it takes those poor people to deal with write in candidates, so I don't do it. It does absolutely no good, doesn't get any point across to anyone, and wastes a bunch of time for ballot counters.
  23. I don't think you know what refuted means. I think we were pretty sloppy in 5 of our 9 games this year. That's most of the time. Winning 9 games has literally nothing to do with my statement. If I said we lost most of the time, then you'd be onto something. I didn't - you're not. Sloppy football can strike any team at any time. This is true. That's not the point, though. Under Pelini it "just so happens" to strike most of the time, year after year after year. People are starting to consider it more of a trend than some zany, unlucky fluke. There is your entire initial quote. I'm putting there to show the disconnect between your logic and reality. 8-1 season plus Coach Power T's work r-e-f-u-t-e-s "most of the time". And now I am done with this. Carry on. Is there REALLY a substantial difference between "most of the time" and "way too often". Would you go to so much trouble arguing against it if it had originally been posted as "way too often"? That is more subjective, less finite, and IMO quite accurate. Of course, I didn't have much of a problem with "most of the time".
