  1. I truly am not sure Banker needs to go... This. I think Banker and Langsdorff deserve at least one more year. Banker lost a ton on the line and we will see how the defense does next year. Langsdorff will have a true pro style QB and see how he does.
  2. I am also optimistic about next year. I think another strong recruiting class, and beefing up our lines will help. Also like someone else mentioned, although Tommy is a warrior and won us a lot of games I am interested to see how a true QB does in this offense. Riley and Co. have a proven track record of doing good things with pro-style QBs.
  3. Yes we need to get the biggest baddest lineman out there. With lines you only need a marginally decent Running back, and quarterback to supplement it. Nebraska will be putting in a new QB with good potential, and Nebraska currently has some really good backs. Our Wide Receivers are good and young. But we dont get out of this 9-3 (constantly losing to Wisconsin, tOSU/Michigan, Iowa) until we get bigger and meaner on the lines.
  4. Granted most his recruiting classes were big12 formatted, but that coach is also the coach that built this team to be a spread speed team rather then the prototype Big Ten team that can take the punches from Iowa and Wisconsin. The way he built this team is part of the reason we cant beat Wisconsin or Iowa.
  5. We really need to stop disrespecting Iowa as if they are not our rival. We can't seem to beat them consistantly. We are currently 3-2 vs them since moving to the Big Ten and if they win today it's 3-3.
  6. I wish we could have all our games aired on ESPNNews or Big Ten Network. Get us off national television.
  7. Need to stop Iowa and score a touchdown before halftime. Might be asking a lot from how this game has gone, but if we can do that we are in this game going into halftime and get the ball to start the half.
  8. Tommy has won us a lot of games this year. Thank you for that, but him not being 100% is hampering this offense and we are going nowhere with it. At this point we so badly need a boost of something different that maybe just put in Darlington and see how it goes.
  9. We are not built like a typical Big Ten team. Iowa and Wisconsin play and are built similar and they are the team we always have problems with. If we end up losing today, does Iowa have the series lead vs Nebraska since Nebraska joined the Big Ten? I don't get where we have this arrogance about us that Iowa is inferior to us, they seem to either beat us or play us extremely tough. This isn't the 1990's Nebraska or Iowa programs. We need to recruit huge lineman and transform into the typical Big Ten team.
  10. Still early, but this thing could get ugly quick if the Defense doesnt wake up. With TA's injury the defense really needed to play lights out. TA's injury is clear and it is hampering the offense.
  11. Wisconsin and Iowa, two teams we just struggle with.
  12. So there's a downfall to this where? Keeping or firing the coach in Oregon will all come down to ego, does Oregon think they are able to hang and win a battle for an elite coach with the likes of Texas, LSU, UCLA (possibly). They can write a blank check for whomever they want but will they leave those recruiting hot beds for a team that really has no history of being great The media in Oregon seems to think Phil Knight will write a huge check to whoever they want.
  13. Oregon and Chip Kelly capatilized off a very down PAC-12 conference. Kelly installed an innovative up tempo offense when programs like USC and Washington were down, and really the rest of the conference was down. Then USC got off probation, Washington woke up, and now everyone runs the up tempo stuff to where it isn't an advantage anymore. Also everyone else has tons of uniform combinations and with all the TV deals rolling in, every team has top notch facilities. So there isn't anything special that sets Oregon apart from anyone else. I think their time as elite is over, they may get a year or two where they are in the title hunt, but they had their great run and that was that. Oregon can easily be a 9-11 win team year in and year out, but I dont think they will be at the level of the 2010-2015 run.
  14. I think it depends on what Oregon does at head coach, and who they bring in. They may end up getting a better head coach, but if that coach has a whole new philosophy it may be a 2-3 years before Oregon transitions into that coaches style, making 2017 a rebuilding year for the Ducks and Nebraska could get the tough win in Eugene. However, there is a slight chance that new coach is really good and turns things around as fast as Harbaugh did at Michigan. Oregon keeps Helfrich, and Oregon probably a 9-10 win team next year. Why? Well, they are extremely young this year and their new QB has some serious potential to be good. Ducks offensive line is really young and will all be returning next year. They have young RB's who will be back. I think they lose some WR's, but they have speed in those positions. Their defense also returns just about everybody. Helfrich returning could make things tough for Nebraska in 2017, because lets face it, if it weren't for Helfrich's boneheaded 2 pt conversion calls Oregon probably wins that game. If he returns he will be coaching for his job pretty much all year, but he will be handed a team full of returning starters.
  15. Well you have to put whoever you can in that roll without burning a red shirt to POB. Wasteful to burn his redshirt last game of the season. Focus on a strong run game, then if you have to pass do short 5 yard throws. Probably put a capable runner at QB so you have that added dimension of able to run if need be.
  16. Red Sox and Cubs have all won world series now. There are no more curses.
  17. The team can bounce back after getting owned vs Ohio State. We are at 8 total wins this year, which we all would have loved to have last year at this point. We are still in contention to win the division, which again we all would have loved to have last year at this point. We hung on and beat a tough Minnesota team. I sure hope POB is as good as he is hyped.
  18. I wish that Wisconsin/Minnesota game was in Minnesota. But that's a heated rivalry and Minnesota is a tough team....Lets hope the Badgers choke their chance of clinching the division away and Nebraska can get into the conference title game and face Penn State. Nebraska vs Penn State would be a wild scenario for the B1G title that no one saw coming. I also think of tOSU, Michigan and PSU, the Nittany Lions is our best chance at winning.
  19. We can thank Maryland for being so bad for this start time.
  20. No matter what we are not in the playoffs. However, I think it is a real possibility that Nebraska wins out and Wisconsin trips up to Minnesota letting us get into the B1G champ game. Minnesota is a tough tough team. But after last night, Iowa is not going to be a cake walk.
  21. If the Cubs can end 108 years, Nebraska can too!
  22. Maybe it is just me, but i dont feel like we have anywhere near the talent depth of schools like Ohio State. I also dont think that issue is something to blame the current staff about, and they are trying to fill that.
