Obviously this is the culture Frost built from the beginning between his staff, his players, and anyone associated with the program. The no fear of failure approach has worked. We failed. The only man left to save this program is Trev Alberts. I feel he will do what is necessary for this fan base that is arguably one of the greatest fan bases in all of sports.

Yup, I’ve got family members who can’t see it. Some want everyone fired but Frost. Lol. Rose colored glasses can truly blind a person.

I made up my mind in week zero. I don’t know why it’s taken the rest of this state to figure it out. Frost and his assistants are not power 5 level and it has shown for 4 years straight. You see what you get. We overpaid for an inexperienced staff.

It’s simple. Another losing season, he is canned. No ifs ands or buts. We can deal with a losing season once in a blue moon but not 4 consecutive. That destroys recruiting. Our 2022 class is already feeling the affect of what losing does. Trev will save everyone from wasting their time and energy on another year for Frost. The only way he saves face is by going 3-1 or win out which is easier said than done. A losing season is a losing season, period. He’s proven to be an awful coach and his record speaks for itself. We cannot continue on like this. Everyone has to be aware of that by now.

That may be true however it does not make him wrong. We have been a lackluster program under Frost.

Even winning the rest of our games is a possibility until those dates arrive. Frost blew through all stop signs to make changes to his staff and/scheme. What you see is what you get. My optimistic outlook is we beat Purdue and maybe Wisconsin or Iowa however reality is setting in and I just don’t see enough energy from our team to rally. I hope I’m wrong.

The last thing we need to do is hire a new coach and temper our expectations.

You can say the same about Pelini, Riley, Callahan. They all went through tough stuff. The difference is they all had better overall winning percentages than Frost. Feel sorry all you want and make all the excuses you want. It doesn’t change his results.

We are already an afterthought nationally. No where to go but up. I just don’t think Frost is the guy to do it based on results so far. Have to use the current data and trending. He continues to trend downward after each game. If we come out flat and lose to Purdue that will be the tipping point for Trev.

Oh Frost is definitely building something. He’s on his way to becoming the worst coach since Bill Jennings. Let that sink in for a moment.

The “what if” game hasn’t gotten anyone that far in life so it’s pointless to make it an argument. Are we not a results driven program? Frost’s record speaks for itself.

We are running out of excuses to keep Scott Frost, to tell you the truth.

Yes to the first question. As for 2017, Frost was contacted shortly after Riley was let go. There was mutual interest then not known publicly. He was the hire that made the most sense (at the time) but as most people know, these things don’t always work out. With our recent memory as a fan base, we can’t compare Frost to anyone else but Riley and Callahan. If we don’t go to a bowl, the outcome doesn’t change for SF just because he’s part of our history. And if he has success elsewhere, more power to him. It’s unfortunate it hasn’t worked out at NU.

I think they can get a splash hire those who say or feel otherwise are just defeatists that have zero faith in the athletic department to make a solid hire, IMO. They’re the type of fans who have no hope. They don’t see the many positives this program offers and can sell to a coach under serious consideration.

You keep downplaying it like you expect Frost to be retained, haha. Unless we win 3 out of 4, he’s no Bill Jennings. He won’t be brought back for another year. Many fans have a defeatist attitude now that the prodigal son didn’t work out — so the sky has fallen (to them.) I’m an optimistic, I think whoever NU goes after they will be a tremendous upgrade over SF.

Don’t have the answers to all your questions. I believe he is a really good recruiter. His RB is probably going to get drafted in the 1st round. He’s a fiery young type of coach who seems to get ISU to play hard. FWIW, USC has Campbell on their shortlist right now.

That’s almost a 21 foot fall. How far do you want the guy to fall down? I mean, realistically speaking… 50 feet?

We either find a veteran coach who’s been fired or an up and comer. No way we get anyone besides that. I think if you read the tea leaves, NU tried to get the ISU AD (who declined of course) if he hadn’t, Matt Campbell would be our HC in 22’. Since we didn’t land the AD, my thinking is Campbell is on Trev’s shortlist right now.

They’re ranked and only lost to ND by 14, beat Iowa of course. Suppose they’re sort of Jekyll & Hyde. After the loss to MN and coming off a BYE I would not be surprised if we come out flat and lose another “close” game

I agree but I think he’s quietly being prepped to take over FSU as they seem to be where we were 3 1/2 years ago. Right now from the looks of it he’s enjoying his time at Jackson State but it won’t be long before a much better deal opens up for him.

Who would’ve thought it would be this hard to find another Joe Ganz… I’d take a pass first QB with mobility over a scrambler any day. That’s been our Achilles heel since 08’ stop offering schollies to QBs that aren’t getting P5 offers at QB or injury prone players and we’ll be better off. AM and injuries in HS — should’ve been a major red flag for SF but, I digress.
