  1. I mean, SF is reaching. He is simply beginning to sound like a coach who knows his time is short. I don’t think the remainder of our games will change the situation. So what, we go 1-3 and just out of the blue decide to give him a 4th season? Everything will magically change next year?? 4 losing seasons isn’t enough to change your mind? Come on. You, me and everyone else knows we’d be lucky to beat Purdue.
  2. The Houston Nutt stuff is all conjecture. I don’t believe Pederson or Eichorst had a short list because both Solich/Pelini were forced out unceremoniously. I suspect Trev does have a shortlist. He doesn’t strike me as a guy that is unprepared for change.
  3. At this point, I’d take Deion Sanders lmao. We know recruiting would boost 150%
  4. If I were in his shoes, he would’ve been gone right after the Illinois game. That was enough for me. After that game, I completely lost all faith in SF.
  5. Yeah, a good coach will recognize problems amongst his constituents early on, a bad coach recognizes them when it’s too late. A lot of people think Trev is just going to hold Scott’s hand like it’s OJT. We were right to hire SF at the time but we got a raw deal. He’s worse than we ever imagined. What fan would’ve thought that Callahan/Riley would have a better record than Scott? This whole “he needs more time,” is hogwash. 3 losing seasons and a possible 4th isn’t enough to tell you that we’ve got a mediocre head coach on our hands??? If we let this continue we may never recover. They’ve got to find somebody (once again) because that’s what blue blood programs do, until you get it right. I hope our AD understands this.
  6. Farley *Edit* just realized I said the same thing 3 years ago, lol. What’s the damn dogs name?!
  7. Yes, he should be so handsomely rewarded with a contract extension and then next year, we fire him. Haven’t we seen this movie before? Get a grip. He has done absolutely nothing to earn an extension! He is very much coaching for his job. His demeanor says it along with his body language. He knows his fate may be sealed sooner rather than later. I think if we lose to Purdue, that will be his final game as HC and Chinander will be made interim for the rest of the season. If Trev doesn’t have a shortlist in his drawer now, he better. In the end, I think he will do what is necessary for the sake of the football program, not for Scott Frost.
  8. Yeah not sure what the gushing over him is all about. Would be an underwhelming choice IMO. Still think we need a big name to immediately improve recruiting over the next 4-5 years — like Gruden or something, lol.
  9. I thought he had dementia or something going on?
  10. You see? This is what happens when @Stone Cold goes sober. Way to go guys! Is 2AM starting against BYE? Anyone know???
  11. I think that’s a given. Other than Purdue, we realistically don’t have a good chance of going to a bowl but heck anything is possible I guess?
  12. Riiiight haha you are a keyboard warrior my friend. Go back to the garden now, shoo, shoo!
  13. I think we have to keep personal things aside and realize this is a business and a business decision will have to be made eventually. The fact that the same mistakes are being made now that we saw in year 1 tells me all I need to know what type of coach we have on our hands. We’ll be lucky to beat Purdue. After that, I don’t see them coming close to winning another game. 3-9 is a realistic situation here. Another 4th consecutive losing season around the corner? There is no way you can keep him and this staff after that!
  14. He’s a great recruiter and defensive coach. He should be a DC here under whoever is the new HC. Sneaky suspicion that LSU will try to steal Jimbo Fischer from Texas A&M or Dave Aranda.
  15. Get somebody proven not Joe Schmo who runs gimmicky stuff. Hate to say it but it’s time to go pro style and hire some kick a$$ recruiters who have a knack for pumping players into the NFL. That is what sells today.
  16. Then don’t watch. Simple as that. You are the prototypical fair weather fan. A glass half empty kind of guy. Nobody gives two s#!ts about what you do or don’t do on game day. Or your gardening. The fact that you rant when the program is in shambles tells us exactly what you are — a fair weather fan. I’m sure you keep your mouth shut like a good lil boy when we’re winning and ranked hmm?
  17. We learned that PJ Fleck is a f#&%in a$$h@!e.
  18. So you’re what is called “a fair weather fan.” Gotcha. Keep watering those plants of yours bud!
  19. The same type of coaches we have now. FCS level guys. Or grad assistants looking for a job. We won’t be able to get P5 assistant type of coaches unless we see a contract extension for Frost. And we’ve been down that road before.
  20. I don’t see SF agreeing to any ultimatum. I also don’t see how we allow him to coach another season should he have a losing season for a 4th straight year. He had his chance to make changes and he hitched his wagon to certain assistants and players. He’s gonna go down with the ship, IMO. We can’t compare his situation to any other coach because any other coach who has 4 straight losing seasons is or has been FIRED.
  21. Can you provide a source because this is nothing like Riley or Pelini. This is a much larger buyout. We’ll be on the hook and paying another coach not to coach us, lol. The man is set for life!
  22. That’s why you hire a disciplinarian fundamentals teaching coach that demands perfection. That is basically what Nick Saban is. Am I saying we need to get one of his assistants or find the next Saban? No. We just need a tough coach who isn’t going to coddle the players and say it’s ok to f#&% up at a program like Nebraska, we’ll coach you up. CFB isn’t pee wee league like HCSF makes it out to be or his predecessor. It is simply one step away from the pros. That’s how college players view it these days. We have to hire a proven guy that will instantly boost our recruiting prowess, IMO.
  23. I agree 100%. He gets preferential treatment because he is a “native son.” People need to look past that and see he’s a terrible head coach. You can’t sugar coat 3 losing seasons and a possible 4th. At the same time, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Can DONU really afford to buyout his contract? Or is the NCAA investigation used as a termination with cause? IMO, this goes down only one way — in flames. What a massive conundrum for a once proud football program…
  24. Losing is losing. You can sprinkle whatever you want on a loss. At the end of the day, a loss is a loss. And many of our losses have come down to poor coaching and decision making, clock management errors, etc. If you’re in a management position, and you have an employee who has performed not below average but poor for 4 years straight. Are you really going to keep him around? Because the big wigs above you as the manager might not like that decision. And then it’s your behind that’ll reach boiling point sooner rather than later. The silver lining through all this is IF Scott is let go it will be about wins and losses. So, really they’ve got to get to a bowl game this year or he’s finished, IMHO. Media wouldn’t scold Nebraska for making a dumb decision they would say, “hmm, makes sense. 4 straight losing seasons will get any coach fired.” This is eerily similar to Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech where it didn’t work out for him either. And guess what? That’s OK! You move on, you find a new coach who’s experienced and will make this state proud without all the hype and cheerleading speak and boasting. We need a coach who’s no nonsense and a disciplinarian. A Big Ten team is identified as a team that’s well coached, doesn’t make mistakes, doesn’t turn the ball over, master of fundamentals. Just go take a look at Iowa FFS!
  25. This team needs a lot of difference makers to have a winning record. A competent special teams coordinator, edge rushers, a dominant OL and bell cow type running back. A QB who is a manager and doesn’t turn the ball over whilst also the ability to scramble/run option. This means Frost needs to continue building but, I can’t speak for most Nebraska fans however, I myself have seen enough things so far through HCSF tenure that calls for a change. That’s the tough pill most don’t want to swallow. You absolutely cannot continue to snow ball like this. This is why P5 conferences need to stop hiring away unproven head coaches from lower tier conferences. It’s too much of a gamble. A proven leader is needed. Times have changed. We have to stop looking at the past because time continues to pass us.
