  1. All these people complaining about a .500 coach. How many people would have a better than .500 at Purdue?? Because that's basically where he was coaching at in his conference. As you can see there are several positions that were left bare by the previous staff(QB, RB, LB, OT). Coach something in your life and you'll understand that things aren't always executed. There will be missed signs, missed calls, dropped passes, and ultimately we have just had all of them go wrong through the first half of our season. Has there been some sketchy coaching calls? Sure, but even at the NFL level you see these calls being made by the elite coaches. Lets support these kids and coaches because whether you like it or not MR is going to be here for at least two more years.
  2. Heart goes out to the kid. The people who are wanting to write these kids off should really watch this interview to understand what these kids are going through.
  3. It's pretty sad when people can't even get behind their favorite team
  4. So hypothetically and I say a big HYPOTHETICALLY if we would have knocked down the hail mary, not thrown the INT in OT, or if Devine catches the third down pass. Would everyone still be calling for Riley's job if he was 5-0
  5. Did you watch Wisconsin try to throw the football last week??
  6. This. As of now, Jano is one of the top 2-3 options at running the ball for us. Ideally those guys are all RBs, but when you have a solid player and need to provide stability in the ground game, can't complain. He might not get 11 carries every game. Guess it depends on how things are going with the other backs. Would anyone have any issues if Imani Cross were the one getting 11 carries? Basically, Janovich has become the "big, short-yardage situation RB" instead of Cross Cross should only get a carry on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1......and I think this will go to Jano now
  7. Haven't gone back and watched the game again because it would prolly pain me too much, but did he have the burst that Jackson did? I know he had the long run for a TD and another in the 4th I guess I was celebrating too much to really pay attention His TD was about 19 yards long. He seemed to have a step. Then he had a good run in the 4th, I believe. It's difficult to say just how good he is. But he is the only RB we had that has been able to get through the opening and get up field. So that has to account for something. Makes you wonder what a healthy and in shape Jordan Stevenson might have looked like
  8. It cracks me up every time someone calls into 1620 and says they don't see us winning another game
  9. Is winning 9 games all we really want?? Because that was pretty much the roof for Bo even with one of the best defenses in school history with maybe the best defensive player that ever suited up for Nebraska.

  11. Feel free to hate both I know I do!! Also throw in Florida State, Notre Dame, and Texas
  12. Losses to Virginia Tech, #4 Missouri, #7 Texas Tech. Just slightly different than unranked Miami, BYU, and Illinois, with unranked Wisconsin coming up... Losses to Virginia Tech, #4 Missouri, #7 Texas Tech. Just slightly different than unranked Miami, BYU, and Illinois, with unranked Wisconsin coming up... You want to compare playing Miami and BYU in the first 3 games to Western Michigan, San Jose St, and New Mexico State? Does it really matter? Beating creampuffs doesn't really matter. But losing to average (at best) teams compared to top 10 teams is different. It's the fact that he had three creampuff games to get started and MR didn't
  13. You can honestly say that game was worse than last years Wisconsin? or 2012 BIG championship game against Wisconsin?? Yes I can. At least in those losses you could make the argument that the players straight up just got beat. The loss to Illinois had nothing to do with talent level, that was squarely a loss on the coaches. So you thought a 7-5 Wisconsin was more talented than Nebraska in that Big 10 championship game?? Listen bud I'm going to keep this short. If you'd like to discuss the Wisconsin games in the past, there are threads you can do that in. I said the game against Illinois was the worst COACHED game I've witnessed and I'm standing by that. I'll answer your question by saying there were three running backs on that Wisconsin team drafted including two in the first round that shows they were obviously more talented than their 7-5 record. OK guy merely pointing out that not being able to stop an end around time after time after time looks a lot worse than losing to Illinois by a point with a new HC

  15. What about overall? This is not Riley's first year as a HC It is here and that's what matters Yeah...and here he is under .500 which is even worse than his career record. Very doubtful....If he couldn't stop the run with NU athletes what makes you think he could do it with Purdues? Does it work that way? Riley is at NU with better players now and is doing worse...soooooo? Bo was 3-3 in his first 6 games as HC at Nebraska. Riley has the opportunity to match that record this week. Exactly! So they are kind of the same. Hopefully after this weekend they will be exactly the same! Except for Bo's first three games were Western Michigan, San Jose State, and New Mexico State. Followed up by the O'Hanlon against VT the worst home loss in school history to Mizzery and a loss to Texas Tech

Riley is at NU with better players now and is doing worse...soooooo? Why wouldn't it work that way. You're wanting to compare someone else's record at a different program with less resources. We'd be kidding ourselves if we didn't think Bo wouldn't have lost to BYU, Miami, and not been a tight game against southern miss
  18. If you don't like it, why are you here? Come back in a few days I never understand that. If you hate what your reading why insist on posting anonymously to tell us were all idiots. Go away, come back on tuesday and every one will be drinking kool aid again.... or, not. Because I am a poster on this board and try to help keep the crazies under control. It's sad to see you're included in the group now. So you're the determiner of who is crazy? Crazy = Looking for replacement coaches after 5 games
  19. What top coaches do you think would have interest in coming to NU? Most of the top coaches are already at top programs
  20. This is Bo. He beat weak teams, and sometimes beat a good team, and sometimes got curb stomped by good teams. He was consistent. On the other hand MR is less consistent. Once every 10 years he will win 10 games, a couple times in 10 years he will win 3 games. Neither should be HC at Nebraska. I can see the logic behind hiring Bo. A proven DC at major programs, he was headed to the NC game when he was hired. For MR, I see no logic in bringing a career 500 coach here. Isn't this what we fired frank for?? and he went to a Title game as well
