  1. You're just bitter you sold off your tickets Nope. I'm realistic Then be realistic and celebrate a great win I celebrated my ass off, but we need to stop this craziness with "the team is gonna click and win out." It didn't make sense in week 5, week 6, week 7, week 8, or week 9. You are just setting yourself up for disappointment. We shouldn't be celebrating this win like it's a bowl game. We're 4 and 6 and need to win out to make a bowl. So hooray, we beat Sparty. It's the caramel topping on the giant heaping sh#t that is the entire season. But hey, we won. I'm happy we won. I stayed out way too late drinking and celebrating. Yep. It was a great win! But after the euphoria wears off, it shouldn't be a surprise. The team has been undercoached all season, and there are inexplicable losses to inferior opponents; a better opponent gets a false sense of security and takes them for granted, and occasionally a good game plan is called to best utilize the players talents, and an upset happens. Yet we will likely not even make a bowl game. This is as good as it gets. This has been MR's history. Expect the same next year. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
  2. PR move is right. He knows his job is on the line, so he's going to do everything he can to endear himself.
  3. He also said he fired Bo for not winning the games that mattered. Did you believe him then? Do you believe him now?
  4. Well, yes and no. They still have to catch the ball. The rules of Pass Interference don't apply to this situation, nor does the penalty. If the DB tries to use his position to take the receiver OOB, the receiver can go out and come back in as long as there was contact. Makes perfect sense to me after thinking about it. Otherwise the reverse would be true, the DB would just keep veering toward the sideline until the receiver steps out, and then he's eliminated him from the play. It's not like any receiver can think, "I'll just run into him and step out of bounds for an automatic great result for us." Going out puts him in worse position to catch the ball since he has to get legal position back in the field of play for the ball. It just keeps him alive in the play. I was thinking about this after I went to bed. Griese seemed to want to apply pass interference rules and the defenders right to his position, but that's a different thing. After watching the replay again this morning, Griese is a complete fool. I know I am biased, but I am not sure an announcer has made that many comments about bad officiating. Again, I know I am biased, but if coaches cannot call out officials, the announcers should be held somewhat accountable for the comments about officiating. Maybe it is a dumb argument and I just need to tune it out!!! Bolded is truth. +1 million
  5. You think Gerry hit Davie on purpose? Yes You think Gerry hit Davie on purpose? The more I watch that play, the more I think he did. Don't want to believe it. But it's hard not to when you see him looking back at the ball and then instead of playing the recievers he puts his forearm into Davie.
  6. You are upset we won aren't you. You would like that wouldn't you. wait.......are you my 12 year old daughter? You sound just like her...and you make as much sense. I told you that you can't have any internet accounts I don't know about. Bring me your phone. You can have it back when you learn to make better choices. People questioned me when I gave an 11 year old girl a Samsung S5. There was a reason for my madness. That phone is now her life and since it is her life it gives me considerable leverage as a parent. When she has a bad attitude....do I need to take your phone? If her chores aren't done properly....do I need to take your phone? I don't need to say anything else and I don't actually need to take it either. We've been down that road before and she didn't like it one bit. Just like in 'Malcolm in the Middle', when Hal and Lois discover Reese has a passion for cooking and he gets upset when they deny him that privilege... (Shocked) "We can hurt him!....We can be parents again!"
  7. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there...
  8. He just wants share in a special moment with his plus one. Not that there's any thing wrong with that.
  9. LOL....this is akin to: Father going through divorce and having a supper with his young kids: "Kids, your mother is a rotten slutty whore that is a cowardice bitch and is impossible to live with. Her a-hole parents are clueless and do nothing but tear me apart for no reason other than their own hidden motives......But, I want you to try your best to love her and your grand parents. But, if you don't want to love them, there are other places you can live. Good luck." Yeah....that really inspires the thought of saying goodbye in a supportive way. But...hey....he did say, "But, I want you to try your best to love them". Bad analogy. Bo didn't bad mouth his successor. He only talked badly about Pederhorst. And he told the truth. A better analogy would be the dad telling the kids that their mother is a wonderful woman, but her boss is a jackass. LOL...nothing in my analogy said anything about a successor. My analogy is spot on. It is absolutely laughable and scary at the same time that you can look at the transcript or listen to his words and not think he was poisoning the thoughts of those players towards the administration and their future as a Husker football team. His actions are almost classic abusive actions in a relationship. That "abusive relationship" analogy is in such poor taste.LOL....What????? We are talking about a guy who absolutely had no respect for any of us as fans. He had absolutely NO respect for anyone above him that even thought of questioning him (Except maybe TO.....maybe). And you call MY post about him in poor taste? Sorry if you can't see it. But, his actions are EXACTLY in line with an abusive relationship. His relationship with these players and program had NOTHING to do with the program or the players. It ALWAYS was about him in his mind. I supported him every single day he was here until I had my eyes opened half way through his last year. It's amazing to me the people who are absolutely blind to his actions in this. Pfffft....an abusive relationship. So many exaggerations in this post. Stop being a drama queen.Did anyone file a restraining order against him? Did I say it was? I said his actions are LIKE an abusive relationship.Yeah, I know. That's what I was referring to...the analogy. And to support it you had to exaggerate with extremist qualifiers..."absolutely NO respect"(x2)..."ANY of us"..."EXACTLY"..."NOTHING"..."ALWAYS"You must be feeling a lot of pain if you have to peg the meter in every direction. If you can't get that restraining order perhaps you should seek counseling Sorry if I hurt your feelings. But, his actions ARE the same as an abusive husband that tries to convince the wife that life will just be horrible without him and everyone else in the world is out to get her and you can't trust anyone. If you can't see that, then....well..... I've been intimately familiar with multiple abusive relationships first hand, and the repeated attempts by attention whores to unequivocally match/define that to Bo's coaching trivializes and marginalizes true aggressors and victims of domestic abuse and/or sociopaths

  12. I miss spending Thanksgiving with my family. (sigh) Good times...
  13. I said it when he was fired. Was pretty roasted for it. Mainly cuz I compared him to Callahan and Pedersen. And I stick with it. Riley or not. Bo fist f'd this program more than Pedersen and Callahan ever dreamed. When it's all said and done, this 3-9 season will be good for the program in the long run. It'll be a nice bold reset of perspective and fundamentals. A cut and dried reason for Riley and crew to put their foot down on the program. I truly believe it's basically just become about getting throught the season while implementing some of their concepts. As far as the fanbase goes, it'll be good for that as well. We will truely find out who the real passionate fans are and who are the coattail nippers who were just along for the ride hoping to get a taste of that 30 year run, and get all pissy and bitter when it doesnt go their way. The revisionist recollection, hypocrisy, and overreaction i see anymore makes me wanna straight up puke. I seriously didnt know it was possible for a Nebraska "fan" to know this little about football and all the things beyond X's and O's that make a program successful. This program needs a few 3-9 seasons. yes. more than one. Some of us jackass fans need humbled. In a very bad way. "3-9 is good for the program" How about the current players? I truly can't believe how deluded some have become. Yes in the long run it may very well be. It could purgue illogical, derailing, and hypocritical jackasses like you from our midst. Then we can get back to good things. Nothing. I mean nothing you have said or done here has been productive in any way. Not to mention there are so many holes in your thoughts and facts that I cant even keep track of. Now. Youre not the only one. There are many like you. A really bad season or two could be good in my opinion. Bottom out. Reset the program. End the sellout streak. And get a guy-whether it still be Riley or someone else-who can come in with zero pressure, and zero obligation to worry about our past. Zero pressure from jackass fans and media who are so caught up with history that they think things never change or shouldnt change. Allow us to get with the program. Embrace our history, but not try to live in it. Did you want Solich fired in '03? And what you describe would kill the husker program. Not everyone has a herbie hard on. Most fans would walk away and not come back after consecutive 3-9 seasons. What would NU be left with other than being another Kansas? Yes. I did. I was ready to try something new. We were trending downwards. Sure. 2003 was a step back up, RECORD WISE. But 41-24, 31-7, and 38-9 says we were still trending down. I wanted to go a different direction. Now. This narrative has changed over the years. Looking back knowing what I know about football now, its probably somethings that shouldntve happened. Frank did what he needed to after just one measly bad year. Kill the program? How so? This is what I mean. We are so caught up with maintaining this level of relevance that we're tearing ourselves apart at the first sight of failure in wanting to go another direction, in trying to take the next step. Jesus Kriest. Look at the CFB poll. Clemson is number 1. Temple, Baylor, TCU, Utah. For sh#t's sake. How do you "kill" a program. It's not like we're this almighty relevant program anyway. We havent been relevant, and not mediocre for over a decade. Give me a break. What are we killing? The sellout streak. That's all it comes down to. Let it end. let's play football again. Lets get a guy-or keep the guy-with a vision and ideals to make us great again. But you have to be willing to take the risk to be great. youre 70% theory is just a copout. it's chickining away from the true challenge. And as far as fans walking away and not coming back?......Good. Like I said.... As far as the fanbase goes, it'll be good for that as well. We will truely find out who the real passionate fans are and who are the coattail nippers who were just along for the ride hoping to get a taste of that 30 year run, and get all pissy and bitter when it doesnt go their way. Let em go. Lifes better without them. So,..what you are basically saying is: "Our crowd. What a bunch of fu*king fair-weather fu*king...they can all kiss my ass. Fu*k you, fans. Fu*k all of you. Fu*k 'em."
  14. Lincoln Craigslist Pets Section Lists Mike Riley As Needing a New Home This football coach was taken in at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln eleven months ago, saved from a sad situation in Corvallis, OR. We assumed that, given a better, more luxurious home, he would adapt to his surroundings and thrive in his new environment. This hasn't been the case. It's now clear that a larger home with greater responsibilities is not the place for him. He would be better off with a gentler home where less is expected of him. Despite his failures during his time in Nebraska, he is still unbelievably nice (almost to a fault). No matter what the situation, he can be seen with a smile, whether that's what you want from him or not. He is kind and calm, and won't disrupt you or upset anyone in charge of him with his behavior. That's why we brought him in in the first place (his predecessor had behavioral issues that no one could solve). We believe if brought to a quaint, humble home he would be a beloved addition. His demeanor will convince you that everything will be okay with him around (the effect may wear off after ~8 months). But we are more than willing to give him away if anyone would like to take him. P.S. If interested, we may also be able to come to a deal on an athletic director in a similar situation. [url=http://lincoln.craigslist.org/pet/5298691897.html
  15. The guy actually ended up on the freeway sign. After a crash between two cars. So I guess the lamb sacrifice thingie doesn't work. : It must have been a sign from God
