  1. Now switched from Utah to Arkansas.
  2. one comment does not undo all the hours spent recruiting this guy. Pelini likes the power running that Alabama presents. In no way does that mean we need a Mcelroy clone... that means we need a dominating offensive line and some legit RB's. A Dual Threat adds another dimension to that. Turner would be a great get, and could be a serious weapon for us. He is fully aware of what we would like to do on offense in the future.
  3. We went through a pretty significant coaching change, which typically comes with a higher amount of attrition. It also comes down to recruiting. Some guys just don't end up fitting. IF we can manage to keep a strong percentage of our staff for 5 or 6 years we will see that number decrease. Its a matter of stability in and around the program. Unfortunately we have a fan base that freaks out if a coach ties his shoes incorrectly, so that doesn't help. Things will get straightened out, and Bo will get his guys in place... CW may have never contributed for all we know, so there isn't a need to freak out. It's not like any of those guys that transferred really ended up being so great. (exception of Lewis)
  4. It sucks on one hand... but in all reality, how many LB's see the field for our D? not that many. He could have been great, but so will our other guys that have their heart in the program. It sounded like earlier in the year he was pissed about the coaches making him sit out of practice and go through rehab...
  5. AR is the man. so he played in 4 of 14 games this year. That means 28.5% of the completed contests.... so had we not made it to the CCG his career at NU would have been done.
  6. tons or reasons to expect our Oline to be much improved. They learn how to run block like men... not a bunch of nancy Missouri style run blocking. (our identity changed mid-year, which changed a lot of blocking philosophy...made for a rough transition) Another year of S&C A year to get healthy Added Depth... Several of the new guys are poised to make a big impact The list goes on. This was a rough year for Barney. I am not 100% sold on him, but the best Oline coach in the country would have struggled with what we had. He needs another year for sure before people throw him under the bus completely.
  7. Are we talking about a medical redshirt cause u must have only played in 25% of seasons games to even qualify for that, didn't Thenarse play more than that? Rules have changed a little bit from my understanding. It's not the old 25% cut/dry anymore... Bo and Jamrog have both publicly said that they were almost 100% certain that RT would get his med... I think they know better than us.
  8. Distance was obviously a factor here... his HS program also has inroads to Rutgers. This goes to show how important it is for us to establish strong relationships with HS coaches.
  9. Jeez... how did he gets so much better all of a sudden?
  10. while i agree, I personally am thinking you don't see Suh caliber players all the time, might be like a once in a decade thing. Yeah... Suh was a special case. But I agree, when the brothers Pelini get some of these high ceiling guys we are going to start seeing some ridiculous D. It's going to be so fun to watch.
  11. Oh, is Aaron going to graduate a year early? or maybe you heard that if we take a RB in the next 2 years we won't get Aaron... It's this complacency that kills Nebraska sometimes. If a playmaker like Heard wants to come here, we take him without question... who knows what happens with Green, we aren't guaranteed anything with him.
  12. I think this guy is a little under the radar because his of broken collarbone. I think this is a great get if he does in fact sign with us. I have a lot of faith in his receiving skills if Texas Tech offered him.
  13. I don't know a whole lot about this guy. I kind of forgot about him once harper committed. He sounds athletic, I wonder if he could transition to a WR spot? It would be great to have a beast like this at wide out, I bet he would scare some DB's to death with his size. I think the main thing for this staff right now is they aren't going to use a scholly, just to for the sake of having extra bodies in the class
  14. I doubt any changes are forced this year with the staff. Bo is going to make a decision on philosophy and we are going to move forward. Watson may not like the philosophy change and start looking for other options after that. But I don't think anyone gets fired. It's popular to blame coaches for a multitude of reasons, but a lot of our trouble stemmed from OL issues. (lack of depth, injuries, etc). We RS'd a couple of talented guys this year, and signed up a couple more. It's a process... Just have some faith... Bo is a great coach - just imagine how much film he has broken down in his lifetime.... he knows where the discrepancies are in this team, and he will get them fixed.
  15. He is still practicing at QB. Running the scout team offense. I have heard comments about his "character", but I think a lot of that has been cleaned up... He has potential to be a great player. Hopefully we can get an opportunity to see what he is made of.
  16. Somehow I skipped over every other commentator and saw her name first... she has so many insightful things to say during the games, I look forward to her sideline reports.
  17. Interesting. Now we gotta dig in Suh's total stats for comparison. Suh's last 3 years 192 tackles, 20.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovered and 15 passes deflected You forgot INT's.... edit: and blocked kicks...
  18. GREAT post.... thanks for this.
  19. hmmm... interesting I wonder when he gets an in home visit from Bo?
  20. longshot to start with, but if his priority is to stay close to family who can blame him? IF his priority is becoming an unstoppable defensive force in college for 4 years, then Nebraska is probably his better pick. Either way, good luck to him.
  21. Gabbert? ha... good one why not throw in T-Magic while we are at it. I agree, though. I have been thinking all year if Spano was healthy he would have seen some quality PT.
  22. Meh, Bo doesn't typically like to single out players.... I don't think he would go for something like that. Besides... 93 just won't look right on anyone but suh. It will pry end up to some walk-on punter next year.
  23. Lets see if our coaches have a talk with him... would be nice to bring in an athlete of this caliber for many reasons.
