  1. This is what failing the book report looks like.
  2. Martinez completed 80% of his attempts in the game so he must of gotten accurate looks in practice
  3. Evidence to back up this claim? Because I'm not seeing it. A majority of the top teams? That's just not true. And to be fair, we have used I as a part of our game plan this year. Ok and? That doesn't mean he will be making that the bread and butter any time soon
  4. The answer to your question is irrelevant. The point is who are we gonna bring in to install a I heavy offense? Its not about if it would work or not, it's about is there anyone out there who would actually install it. Realistically the answer is no.
  5. Part of the problem with running I formation regularly is no coach in the country actually does it. Who will we hire that will install this offense? Maybe a blue hair, but no one thats actually a NCAA HC candidate
  6. I get things are bad but there is no world were we run the I formation regularly any time soon. How many teams in football run the I on a regular basis?
  7. 2 years probably wouldn't be necessary because Biden would actually cooperate
  8. This man is a dangerous psycho. He is going off this morning on his delusions. I'm honesty afraid at what he is going to attempt because its clear he isn't just going to accept the loss.
  9. We beat a team by 5 touchdowns last year and we were worse last year.
  10. LETS GO!! D Will is a beast man, what a difference he makes
  11. Betts should be on the field as much as possible. Gonna be a problem for years to come!!
  12. Even if they could why would they vote for Trump? Maybe they can get 2 rolls of paper towels in the second term.
  13. Did I say that? I don't believe I did.
  14. The reality is Northwestern has a good defense.
  15. It's common sense and it has been from the beginning. The economy cannot function properly in the midst of a public health crisis.
  16. I completely agree and I really think if the DB actually had to worry about Manning faking a block and running by them on a fake bubble screen it would make the bubble screen itself more effective.
  17. I don't disagree, I just was trying to focus on the line discussion. I do think we need to give it over to McCaffrey for at least a game and see. I definitely gave Martinez alot of leeway but at this point Luke is more of a gamer. We need to let him do his thing and see if we are better for it. Consistent QB play would do alot for us. It wouldn't fix everything, but it would help. I think it would also help if we had our best athletes on the field most of the time rather than some of the time.
  18. The skill positions are underperformed right now but for all of the yammering for years and years about the trenches its finally getting better there it seems and its doom and gloom for another reason. Obviously we aren't that good of a football team right now. We probably should be better than we are right now at this point in Frosts tenure. But to say we are showing no signs or indicators of improvement is just flat out false. We are better in the trenches this year than we have been since Bo was coach at the very least. We were way way way behind in that department when Frost arrived. Its gotten much better and that is the foundation in this league. Yes better QB play would be great, but at the end of the day you have to stop the run and run the ball to do well in this league. We are building that foundation.
  19. You don't bring in recievers to block, you bring them in to catch the ball and run past everybody else. That said in this offense WR blocking is a skill that changes the game. We run too many bubble screens. If we aren't blocking on the perimeter it screws the whole offense. Maybe that's part of the issue. Its funny though because I think the screens would be more successful if the defense was scared of everybody that could catch the ball rather than just locking in on Wandale as the only threat. If Warner is essentially a lineman split out wide it makes blocking those plays harder because the defense already knows why he's on the field.
  20. You act like NW isn't stout on the front 7. They absolutely are. We were missing one of our best yesterday so that makes a difference. Benhart-Piper-Jurgens-Farniok-Jamies are going to give us one of the best lines we've seen in 5 years and you can't convince me otherwise. Casey Rodgers is looking like an animal out there if you haven't noticed. We have some dudes on the D line and they are young. Linebacker as well. Thats where it starts in this league. I'm not saying we are great, but your assertions that there is no indicators for improvement are vastly exaggerated.
  21. No indication? Our lines are better than they have been in years. Isn't that what everyone has been yammering for? Thats the foundation and its being built. Both lines are the strengths of our team right now. Honestly the DLine looks like it can be downright nasty in the future and same can be said for the O line. Lots of young guys playing pretty damn well in the trenches
  22. The defense is getting better though? This game was clearly lost by the offense. Defense did their part.
  23. This is one thing that has me pretty optimistic. How long have we been complaining that we can't compete in the trenches? That is changing and its evident. That's where it all starts so im hopeful we are moving in the right direction.
  24. Don't understand why Manning didn't see more targets. I don't understand why Manning, Fleming and Betts aren't on the field for 80% of the snaps. I think the offense could be good if we had some threat of a passing game. The defense looks solid. Front 7 is a strength and thats what you need in this conference. We are getting there on defense but still a ways to go. An offense that scored points would be helpful.
