I don't think our players have any issue being ready to play hard tomorrow. I think it's fitting for MJ to beat Iowa and lose his job tomorrow.

If it is the Northern border, I am not sure. Do they even have a coach? The Southwestern border doesn't have a coach for sure. The eastern border would be a gigantic fail. The western border would have us win 7 games eternally. That southeastern border is intriguing. Mo has been ok with that guy. Maybe a 3 year rebuild with him. That southern border is the one... some say he would have us turned around next year.

Someone in P5 will hire him. The dude is a winner. I think a lot of fans would consider the hire mehhh but if they took a deep look at him most would probably be pretty excited.

Idk, I think iowa will be able to run the ball on us by the second half because our defense will have been in the field so much. If we score it will be because of explosive plays, not sustained drives. I'm predicting a 3 to 1 time of possession advantage for Iowa. My guess is we lose by 10+.

I don't agree with the analogy... those first few weeks being single were some of the best. That said, I think Trev likely had strong interest in a coach or coaches but there really is no way to have one "lined up" in this industry.

MJ has had his hands completely full to this point. Letting Whipple go would have just created more workload that he wasn't prepared to handle. On top of that, his options weren't great. Fire Whipple and it doesn't work, your audition is a complete failure. Keep him and claim no other options, maybe you are forgiven and still have a shot at the job. Unfortunately for MJ I think that ship has sailed.

Eh... That's my point. None of those teams would be where they are without balance. I wasn't suggesting that Nebraska, or any other team for that matter, can run the ball consistently when the other team knows it's coming. I'll agree my post above didn't get my point across very well. Bottom line - What MJ is suggesting isn't going to work with our lack of a passing game to keep the defense honest. Hope I'm wrong.

You are correct but I think we all know what I mean by consistently- the ability to run the ball for 3-4 yards when the other teams knows you are running the ball. We built up that average with some longer runs when teams were forced to respect the deep pass. We haven't been able to impose our will on the ground when we need to yet imo. With CT out, we are going to see 8+ in the box on almost every snap so for MJ to suggest we will start now against Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa is not reality. We need to have some form of a passing game to stand any chance of another win.

Either he is trying to throw Michigan off or is just at a loss for what to say. We haven't been able to consistently get 3-4 yards per run all season. If we had, we would have won a lot more games. I honestly feel bad for MJ. He is in a tough spot and just doesn't have the experience to pull from to succeed. His solution to slow the game down and run the ball against the stiffest part of our schedule is going to be a massive failure imo.

You are missing a few things. Casey will start the game but will be knocked out early. Smoothers will play ok for a couple drives but then will get injured while turning the ball over again. Purdy will play a bit before running off the field terrified in the 3rd quarter. Haarberg will then enter the game against the 5th string Michigan defense. His amazing play makes the fans all wonder why he wasn't the guy all along. Final, Michigan 56, Nebraska 17.

What a dumpster fire this thread is on game days...lol. decent game plan today. Boys played hard early. Then we got out coached. Pretty simple really. MJ isn't ready for this job but he sure seems like a great guy who could be an asset to the next coach. Hope it works out for him to stay.
