  1. I haven't heard of a single "concerned" coach. I would think any individual who was, for whatever reason, could coach from the box or social distance. Officials are in general very in shape individuals and would be in a very low risk category. Any athletes with underlying conditions could make the choice to sit out. The show most go on. Life must go on.
  2. How is it VERY dangerous to state a fact about impacts by age class openly admitted by all involved? Getting away from the news and enjoying some sunshine and fresh air is also widely recommended and one of the most healthy things any of us can do right now.
  3. College athletes are in the age class that is least affected by this virus. Quit watching CNN and go enjoy some sunshine.
  4. For some positions I would agree I guess. For linemen, it is pretty rare to see full potential prior to year 3. Without a good line, it's pretty hard to see full potential out of most other positions.
  5. I'm glad he found a spot and hope he makes the best of it. I was really hoping he would end up at Wyoming but the Rutgers job may be easier for him to win and gives him a ton of visibility. If he does well there, who knows maybe he ends up with a shot at the next level.
  6. Makes sense to show McCaffrey some love right now. Maybe he wins the competition but I doubt it.
  7. It's crazy to be hard on 17 year old kids for making a school decision. I think the majority of Nebraska fans understand his reasoning and don't fault him for trying to make what he thinks is the right decision. If Nebraska turns it around and he wants to transfer home, I think we have a pretty good mentor leading our program with experience on such matters. I wish the kid the best.

It has been a nice to fill the time but I'll take real football.
  9. Looking strictly at this season, there is one more point in favor of voting Iowa. We play them first. If we win that game, carrying a little momentum into Wisconsin sure wouldn't hurt.
  10. Fair assessment badgers007. I can agree with you but I also think the gap is fairly small between you and Iowa in the last couple years. I thought they had you beat last year late in the 4th. Either game would be big for us this year as that stretch is pretty brutal.
  11. This isn't basketball. You don't realize the potential of your incoming talent in football for at least 2 years and in most cases it takes 3-4 years. This season we should start to see some of the new regimes talents as upper class men but it will really be in 2021 and 2022 before we get to see what the Frost kids can really do.

Still no MVP but I gained a star! 3
  13. I really appreciate you taking the time to thoughtfully respond. It's hard for the average person to trust much right now so an opinion like yours helps. I wish there were an outlet where people could just go to get real information, good and bad.
  14. ZMagers22, I think you make very valid points. My problem is I don't believe we are hearing from the greater medical community but rather from politically driven news agencies. I personally think everyone is still learning and there are no "experts". I'm trying to remain objective but my eyes and ears are telling me we are sheep right now and I don't like it. I know several "average" people who have had this. A couple got really sick but they survived. Most compared it to a cold or less. We were told the country was being shut down to prevent an overload of our hospitals. Flatten the curve... Our hospitals are in great shape as far as room goes. Time to open up and let everyone be responsible for their own health. Should we resume sports? Absolutely in my opinion.

Let's not give up now. We just need a little luck. A lot can change in a couple of turns.

Ouch... Another rough turn. Unlucky in several battles.

I still haven't gotten one. I have been on the side of several losing battles though unfortunately.

Any idea if there will be another round after this one?

  20. If our society is anywhere close to normal by then, you will get plenty of interest come game week.
  21. $60? For good seats behind his teams bench he has zero chance of getting those for that low. When the huskers are in the midst of a bad season like the last two years, those seats were still over $100. You can get end zone seats to just about any game for under $100 though. $60 doesn't even cover the face value and the booster fee...
  22. If I were in your shoes I would wait until after the Nebraska vs Purdue game. If Nebraska loses, you will be able to get cheaper seats. If they win, you will still be in the $200+ seat if you have to have sideline tickets. If you are willing to sit in an end zone, you can find tickets much cheaper.

Defending Lincoln... no orders out and I'll be off grid rest of the day. I'm HuskerDave1993
  24. It almost hurt to read the last 2 pages... Adrian Martinez is in the top 10 (or 15 in some books) odds to win the Heisman. Last year, with injuries, inconsistent line play, limited wide receiver talent, a run game that was inconsistent, etc, he completed just under 60% of his passes. Of course he didn't play great at times. His play was a reflection of all the things wrong around him. I'm excited for the future. I think Adrian will have a great 2020, and 2021 season and then Luke will have 2 full years to start as long as a young Smothers doesn't pass him up. Losing Vedral isn't even a blip on the radar. I honestly hope he makes a good transfer choice and has a great finish to his career.
  25. This got so off track - sorry mods. Feel free to move it all.
