Consensus seems to be, if Frost is under .500 and we keep him, he needs to make some staff changes. So whose out and whose in. Any concerns that Frost has never really hired from outside the Chip Kelly coaching tree? Any concerns quality assistants won't jump on for what could be a one-year experiment? Personally, I'd go Verdu to analyst. Busch to ST. Austin gone, replace him with a B1G experienced OL coach like Ed Warinner.

I think no OL recruits makes me the most nervous. That side of the ball while young, has been a dumpster fire all year. We need all the help we can get on the line. Also really screw's over Frost or whoever is the Coach in a couple years when we have no OL depth.

Yeah I bet back in July he read the message boards and read some really cool things about Frost and decided to commit. Recruits really don't care about on the field results, but message board sentiment is big for them.

Less than 2 months from signing day.

He had the talent to win 6 in year 1. He had the talent to win 6 in year 2. He had the talent to win 4 in a COVID year. And he has the talent to win 6 this year. The most consistent thing about the Frost tenure is he has the talent to at least be a .500 team, but his team's drop games against inferior squads multiple times a year - and ALWAYS lose to superior squads. He has time and time again, shown us what he is.

People greatly over exaggerate how difficult it is to win 6+ games. It's hard to get from 6 wins to 9 wins, its hard to get from 9 wins to 12 wins. Winning 6 games with the resources at Nebraska can be done in year 1. If you think we need to flip a roster, and find a grad transfer QB and fire asst coaches, and hire a sports psychologist, and have more meetings with the AD and flip the culture - just to win 6 games in year 5 - then you want the Head Coach fired but you're just not willing to admit it.

3-5 (1-4) isn’t progress and I’m kind of sick or people telling me it is. And I wish we would stop using Riley as a dead man walking with a DC he was forced to hire as the barometer for our program.

10-24 against P5 teams is the most damning stat to me. Frost can’t out coach his peers. Talent is there to at least be .500 in those games. Frost gets beat by his peers at a 70+% clip. That isn’t something that just goes away.

Job will be toxic, no Coach worth a s#!t will touch the LSU job. Kidding aside, good for them, they know what they’re capable of as a program and won’t accept anything less.

Whose gonna coach at LSU?! They just fired a Louisiana boy that won a title there, no one is gonna to want that job! (End Sarcasm)

You can add LSU to that list as they just fired a coach that went 34-11 with two top 8 finishes and a natty over the same time period Frost has gone 15-25 without a bowl.

Top 5 scoring defense and top 15 in yards per play? Venables is still a stud; not sure if he would come here though. I’ll get crapped on for this but one of my first calls would be Bill O’Brien. 8-4 (6-2), 7-5 (4-4), multiple wins over top 20 teams - all after getting hit with a bowl ban, scholarship limitations, and having 15 dudes transfer the summer before the season. NFL ties will be huge for recruiting. No nonsense style wore thin on NFL locker room, but like Saban I think it translates much better to college kids.

I mean at this point we’ve set the bar lower than 6 wins. There’s people that want to retain Frost after 4-5 wins this year (and every year he’s been here). Our bar right now is “did you play football here in the 90s”. Also I get a chuckle out of the people who want wholesale changes but not Frost canned, basically holding everyone responsible minus the guy whose ultimately responsible.

This reminds me of when Pelini was here and we were super scared of Tim Beckman’s Illinois squads.

We're 5 years removed from winning 8+ games in 10 of 12 seasons. Our last 2 hires have just been trash.

Curious to what bar you need Frost to exceed. Seems like you are okay with anything above a complete clusterf#&% meltdown where we go 3-9 and lose by 20 to Iowa, which is sadly still in play.

If trev didn’t invent a charity program our sellout streak would have ended within the last 2 months. You are choosing to ignore what’s in front of your face.

He has a worse B1G record than Riley and in Riley’s worst season he went 3-6 in the B1G, which is par for the course for Frost. Open your eyes. It’s the same s#!t product.

let’s concentrate on the now. Where we are tolerating a product just as poor, 4 years after Riley roamed our sidelines. If Riley wasn’t good enough, then Frost isn’t good enough.

The bar is getting lower and lower by the day. If we are 5-7 or worse and keep Frost, we will have separated ourselves from the blue bloods, that’s uncharted territory for anyone that fancies themselves college football elite.

And when the transfers start and the recruiting well dries up we become Maryland....or Vandy..... I think there’s a value in not accepting this level of ineptitude. I don’t think Trev is ready to do it. I don’t think Green, Carter or Trev we’re prepared for this team to not be Bowl eligible. They all seemed convinced a corner was turned before seeing it actually happen.

I realize this is a f#&%ed up thing to do to one of your own, but if this were Bama, OSU or USC the administration would be using the ncaa violations to work a reduced buyout and it would happen before tomorrow morning. That’s where 15-25 gets you at places where winning is prioritized. We will be in uncharted territory soon.

Seriously. Bowl eligibility on the line, team that has had your number, conf game, possibly your coaches job on the line…and you can’t get up for it? Jesus.

Frost’s side of the ball, and ST (which have sucked and Frost hasn’t addressed for 3+ years) have not been getting the job done. Frost’s DC has made consistent improvement since year 1. Not giving me great confidence that Frost will figure it out next year.
