  1. So you are using the flip of a 5 star as an argument to why recruiting doesn't matter? Makes sense.
  2. Damn. Did they play Iowa like 7 times that year???
  3. You sound just like people at my work who discuss risks to any project. What if the sun burns out though?! Then we die, Carol! Can we do this install before that happens or not????
  4. You misspelled Scott Frost. Seriously though, Iowa is going to hire a Joe Philbin or Paul Chryst type probably. The most boring, and most Iowa, hire. Kirk was quoted saying something like "the new OC must respect the Iowa offense" or "Iowa style" or some other nonsense recently. I personally want to watch the meltdown if they hired Frost, but it honestly would be a better hire than the names above who will bring zero change.
  5. Gebbia had to defend his doctoral thesis that day unfortunately.
  6. Isn't that the same as the big hubbub in the NFL this weekend with the OL not reporting (or the refs missed it etc) and catching a pass for Detroit's 2 PT conversion? Lineman aren't allowed to handle the ball on a set play I didn't think. Not to say that really makes a ton of sense, but it is the rule AFAIK.
  7. I hope it is a sign of burgeoning parity, and I hope the 12 team playoff and NIL/transfer portal keep that momentum going. The same 4 or 5 teams being good/in the playoff every year makes for much less interesting games. Spreading out the talent will let more teams make runs.
  8. Iowa claims 5 Nattys too. We only claim modern era titles, not ones during ancient years where there were 4 or 5 different entities naming winners. We could have upwards of 10 like some other schools if we did that also.
  9. Nah. We are a RED blooded, top ten historical program. Having a bad run, but great for 100 plus years in the grand scheme.
  10. Wooo! Just like my Broncos won their last playoff game, and last lost one in 2015.
  11. Linkon Cure? As in the fix we've been looking for?!?! He is from Kansas, can't miss this opportunity.
  12. Definitely have to have the drive, which is TBD you're right. They have leaders on the team, but Landeskog continuing to be out is a larger issue than folks realize in the locker room. The biggest difference between 22 and 23/24. That and a 2nd line C.
  13. You'd rather not have multiple 6'4" 200lb fast WR on the team?
  14. Missing Gerard more than I expected. Toews called out his teammates recently. Just figure it out come April. I'd rather struggle a bit in the winter than to peak early like last year.
  15. Yep. We absolutely need guys like him on the team, and I applaud him stepping in when there was no one else. We simply need better QB play, and he knows that as well.
  16. Why not? Let him have the announcement as he probably isn't playing on Sundays.
  17. The Frisco? Oakland West? What do you prefer out there?
  18. I was tracking with SanFran, but now I have an eye twitch when reading it, so thanks!
  19. Makes sense with 2 QB's coming in this year yes.
  20. I am ready to eat, Grandpa! I am ready to eat Grandpa!
  21. The only way this would be necessary is if Raiola is injured and misses a significant portion of the season. HH can be the #2 and play spot duty if needed. DK can play in four games if he's more ready than HH and Raiola misses a game or two. If Raiola misses more than four games, I don't know if the season will mean enough to burn DK's redshirt. Honest question in 2023. Why are we concerned with redshirts at all anymore? Kids staying a full 4 years is rare, and the longer they sit the more likely they are to leave. We want to be recruiting at least 1 QB a year, so expecting to eventually have a bunch of 5th year seniors seems like a bygone way of thinking.
  22. Am I the only one who thinks "Donkey Kong" when they see DK? Takes me a second everytime to process. Too much Nintendo as a kid?
