  1. If we were to face Kellen Moore ... I think we'd get smoked. But it would be an interesting game for sure.
  2. I'd take a scenario where we beat Northwestern, roll over Penn State, push thru Michigan ... get up and take out Iowa ... win the B1G Championship ... and then play whoever we play in a bowl game.
  3. It's Monday morning after the Michigan State win ... I'm hopeful for an update on recruits there this weekend. News?
  4. I didn't see it as taking the week off. We moved away from the gameplan ... into our weakness and turned the ball over at the time while the game was there for us. I'm not worried because I think we stay focused this week and take care of business ... a 24 point win at a minimum.
  5. My perception is the B1G is weaker this season then ever and that the teams that make into bowls would get "rolled" ... except for Wisky. After yesterday ... it is even more obvious that all teams in the B1G are rather weak. Week in and out any team can win any game ... home or away ... it's all based on emotion and preparedness. Almost every team has a three game stretch against an equally matched opponent and it seems that their are lapses that cost an unfortunate loss. My concern for Nebraska is to win Northwestern ... go in to the Penn State game and win ... match the intensity of the Michigan game and win it ... then have Iowa at home and come out flat and lose. The bounty goes up each week and if we can stay focused and match that with intensity and game play ... we could get ourselves in a top tier bowl ... hopefully get rested up and pull off a good bowl win. This would exceed my expectations dramatically. I had us losing four games this year, with that including the bowl game.
  6. Iowa ... because it will be a good win at Penn State. Then we get up and knock off Michigan ... after that we come home against a lessor Iowa team ready to upset us and we are flat and emotionally drained.
  7. Agree with you. I'll be interested to see how this team does against Iowa if it beats Penn State and Michigan ... to me ... a win against Iowa after beating those two teams meantioned would be similiar to what Michigan State tried to do today. On the other side ... this Husker team probably isn't as bad as the beatdown we took at the hands of the Badgers.
  8. Very kind to start a thread to congratulate Husker fans. Hope you take part on our board for years to come. It makes any season to develop relationships with fans from other schools and have good spirited interaction and truly be friends. Thanks and good luck with your year.
  9. This record and victory was over the Republic Tigers (4-6). It's a down year for Republic. However, they also beat my team, the Camdenton Lakers, who were 4-5 this year but finished strong in the district and won it last night. Hillcrest is much better this year with a 9-1 record. His Sophomore and Junior years they didn't have very good teams.
  10. Bottom line ... you can't build a program with players/parents that choose this kind of road ... and coaches and universities that dare this road will probably garner the recruiting violations they deserve.
  11. Had State winning today by 17. So pleased to be wrong. Love this D today ... and the crowd.

  12. Just bad coverage on that pass. We had four defenders covering one guy and he leaves that guy out of the backfield all alone ... and he knew it.
  13. Got to catch that ... give them three ... could have had 7. 10 point swing.
  14. That was a terrible long pass call and a terrible shotput by Martinez.
  15. I'm with you on these thoughts. I've got Michigan State winning this by 17 points. I hope I'm wrong. Looking forward to seeing if we have improved at all since Wisconson.
  16. I wasnt taking away from KB, it was a compliment. He did it on his own, his blocker didn't help at all.
  17. I finally found the "phrase" that describes his throwing motion ... it's a "launch" ... however, it does not have a solid foundation upon which to project anything consistent. He telegraphs everything ... I can tell when he's gonna pass right when he gets the ball. These aren't complaints. It's comical to me. I don't think it will change, he wants to change or the coaches will make him change. It's a marriage that will stay together for three more seasons. :-)
  18. The TD had some luck ... can't see the number but the second to last defender almost gets KB ... whoever the Husker blocker is didn't block well and then falls down ... it's Brll's speed that is the difference ... certainly not that blocking.
  19. His arm motion and hip rotation are solid I agree Robsker
  20. Man... do they take their High School football serious there The announcers were better than some of the CBS announcers and the production quality of the film was like a major college game. Amazing! And... Armstrong looks promising. Thanks for posting this video. Glad we have Tommy ... potential yes. Overall, I think Tommy created some nice opportunities, extended some plays as the QB. Surprised to see him be the Punter. Felt he was too quick on 7-8 runs ... needs more patience and allow for blocking to develop and/or the whole to develop and open up. Passing wise ... he had a lot of throw it up and see what happpens. His receivers seemed to drop some catches ... kinda like our WR's. I wasn't overly impressed with his throwing motion and his footwork was terrible at times. I like these "dual threat" QB but I "feel" we are back to having to develop basic mechanics on the passing side of this recruit ... and that concerns me.
  21. Who was the last 5* recruit that met that expectation?
  22. On a side note ... but Knapp's post today and me having the free time ... thought I'd share this. At my town here in Texas ... they have taken Tennis out as a sport at our school. We lost our coach last year after the Superintendant fired 7-8 teaches for financial reasons ... in all that, the health coach that taught tennis here for years decided to step down. My son went to Regionals as a freshmen and now as a Senior has a couple of offers for a tennis scholarship at Div II type schools. Anyway, tennis is no longer considered a sport. On the other hand, the Band Director has addressed in his class and at public gatherings that "Band" is now a "sport". My three sons have lost a couple of friends in the whole debate ... as we wouldnt' consider "Band" a sport ... that has been met with verbal and physical assault. Thus, now in the B1G and some of these other schools saying the Huskers don't have a good "Band" ... I'm just rathered humored and guessing that I'm missing out on something. I always thought I showed up for football games to watch the two football teams play ... now I'm understanding that I'm actually there to see the bands compete against each other. So now I'm wondering how our recruiting is going? How many 4* and 5* are we in on? Knapp, can we get a section on Huskerboard to discuss this? :-) In any event, I'm a rather bewildered parent to see my kids who are talented at tennis now persuing a a tennis career via USTA events as "tennis" as a sport at our school is not recognized. They recently said we can travel to play other schools in our district within a 30 mile radius (financial issues for gas). Sadly, our closest school is about 35 miles away. From their logic (not thought through very well) we could not even make it to the regional event. Tennis has been lost amidst all the "social justice" of trying to make these kids competing in "band" out as if this is a great fitness contest.
  23. I'll judge this game more by how our O-Line and especially D-Line play. I expect our D to only give up 3-10 points in this game. Any thing more confirms my view even more.
  24. I give a lot of credit to the QB. It will be interesting to see how well they fare next year without Moore. I think it will be a similiar result to what you see in TCU without their QB this year. I love both TCU and Boise St and what they have done. I don't see either team going away. I think we would lose to Boise this year ... TCU as well.
  25. Ya, K-State is a great story. Love what they are accomplishing. To top it off, I know everyone is talking about their upcoming games and probably losses ... I agree. Let it be known ... we still have Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, Michigan and Iowa left on our schedule. I can see us losing three of those games, especially is our offense make mistakes and the D stays as it is. The question I have ... is do we deserve our ranking. Most Husker fans have us ranked much higher then I do.
