  1. I saw a lot of good things (which I expected), and a lot of miscues (which I also expected). I'm willing to tolerate it this season, because they are correctable mistakes and it's a new system. In future seasons, I won't be as forgiving.
  2. Bring on the Cyclones. Would love to see that matchup.
  3. Agreed - I'm just pretending that I've been asleep for the past 20 years and on September 1 I'm about to wake up
  4. Guess things didn't work out the way he planned http://www.houmatoday.com/news/20180803/former-texas-am-running-back-bussey-joins-colonels
  5. College/NBA Basketball: Patrick Ewing, Allen Iverson, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo College Football: Tommie Frazier NFL: Ndamukong Suh, John Riggins NHL: Wayne Gretzky Boxing: Marvin Hagler, Mike Tyson MMA: Brock Lesnar, Diego Sanchez, Clay Guida, Houston Alexander MLB: Cecil Fielder Wrestling: Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior
  6. 2008 Colorado gets my vote. The Henery FG followed by Suh's interception return was just plain awesome.
  7. Had our QBs played poorly in the spring game, our fan base would likely be singing a different tune. However, we had three that had solid games -- hopefully not because our defense is poor. LSU's QBs, on the other hand, all played poorly in their spring game... then again, their defense is much better than ours. Orgeron also knows that he has to win NOW -- the fans are already calling for his head. He can't afford to have a lackluster season. Frost has as much time as he needs.
  8. Not sure why this is even up for debate. We have two - if not three - solid QBs on our roster, and hopefully will add another with this recruiting class. No need to muddy the waters by bringing in an unproven transfer. The guys we have already on our roster have shown just as much promise as Burrow.
  9. Looks like Flu/kid nickels/GOAT/Nebraskan Assassin is back for his annual visit
  10. Anyone else concerned about Gebbia's weight? He looks to be about 180 lbs. soaking wet. I just don't know how many big hits he's going to be able to take.
  11. Yeah I'm concerned about Gebbia's weight. I really thought he would've bulked up a little by now, but he's still skinny as a rail.
  12. ...not to mention who MISSED his SR year and is supposedly not back to full form yet
  13. Wow - impressed with what I've seen so far. REALLY impressed. Martinez is the real deal; Gebbia and Bunch have looked good, too. Defenders are flying to the ball. Things are looking up!
  14. I prefer Cornhuskers, and the Herbie logo. I don't care for Huskers or the 'N' logo.
  15. I'm usually pretty pessimistic, but I really think next year will be better than most are predicting. I see us winning 9 games. If we don't I certainly won't be disappointed; I just think we're better than some give us credit for.
  16. Pretty obvious (at least from what I've seen) that Gebbia is the superior QB, but obviously he needs to pack on some more bulk. He's had a year to add weight but IDK how that's been going... has anyone seen any photos of Gebbia lately? Wouldn't be surprised to see Gebbia start the season, but if he goes down Martinez would take over.
  17. Couldn't be happier with class. Absolute amazing job by Frost & his staff. Looking forward to seeing what they can do with a FULL recruiting cycle? And hey, where are all the people who used to tell me that no coach can recruit to Lincoln, we're geographically challenged, have bad weather, etc.??
  18. The guy I saw said he talked to one of his coaches and he told him. Seems fishy that a coach would reveal it before the kid has announced
  19. Well, like I said before, I heard that he liked Nebraska, but didn't love it. That's why he chose to keep the door open, and I guess he thinks he's found greener pastures. Oh well - first real disappointment of the Frost era, although landing Tannor would somewhat lessen the blow.
